Part of your job as a parent is looking at your kids’ wonky drawings and lying about how great and realistic they look. You might even keep some of those wonky drawings forever out of sheer love and appreciation.

But one mom on Reddit really went above and beyond. She not only saved the portrait that her daughter drew about 10 years ago, but she recreated her own makeup to look just like the drawing. The results are spot-on!

The girl’s portrait of the mom includes five large eyelashes on each eye, thick messy red lips, outlined eyebrows, and bright yellow hair. Oh, and bags underneath the eyes. The mom’s recreation really highlights the eyelashes, lipstick, and eyebrows.

As you can see, the mom even framed the portrait — she writes in the comments of the post that it’s the “most priceless masterpiece I own.” As for the makeup, she used eyeliner for the eyelashes, painted over her eyebrows in white, and liberally applied red lipstick.

The one detail she missed? The three rows of teeth that are inexplicably in her daughter’s drawing.

This child-portrait-come-to-life would be a bit frightening to come across in real life — one Redditor said “it’s like the Joker was a soccer mom.”

But it’s an impressively accurate recreation, and it shows just how truly endless a mom’s love is!

Fans of Lord of the Rings will enjoy this! The North Yorkshire Police department found a unique silver ring and wrote a Facebook post to try to locate its owner.

The thing is, the local police force had no idea they’d get a lot of charming trolls!

“Officers in York are trying to locate the owner of a distinctive silver ring and are appealing to the public for their help.

The ring was recovered with property which had been stolen in a house burglary in York in February 2019.

Sadly despite their efforts, officers have been unable to trace the ring back to its rightful owner.”

One fellow local police troupe had a laugh at their expense!

Yet another clever sleuth tried to “help.”

Of course, some people chose to mess with the police force by using Harry Potter references!

Thankfully the North Yorkshire Police department were good sports about their now-viral post—and they were able to find the One Ring’s rightful owner!

The original photo caption reads,

“Hello everyone, we have an update for you.

A spokeswoman for the (North York)Shire Police, said: “We have had a lot of laughs thanks to you, our fabulous quick-witted followers – it’s been an unexpected but welcome relief from some of the more distressing things we deal with. The program is called “Fostering Hope,” and it’s a partnership with the Humane Society of South Mississippi to provide guests with a touch of home.

If someone isn’t actively missing their own pet during their travels, they are wholly invited to foster a dog during their stay. That could mean walking, playing with, feeding and, perhaps, a sleepover in the guest room.

If a love connection is made, guests can even adopt their new fur-friend and give them a forever home.

Thanks to this unique program, more than 60 dogs have been adopted by guests since its start in October, 2018. Both guests and staff have found wonderful animal companions through the hotel.

Instead of helping his trainer in any of his tests, he just wanted to play and have fun!

Ryker shows us that even though he may not be able to help someone in need, he can help a lot of people laugh. The video went viral and several people had something to say.

Being a mom is a hard job, particularly when you have a one (or more!) toddling around. All stages of childhood carry their own difficulties, but it seems the youngest years are the most physically demanding.

One mom took some of her precious alone time to explain exactly what she means when she says she “needs a break.”

It ain’t pretty, but it’s the truth.

Her post starts:

“When I say I need a break.

I’m not saying I don’t love my family.

I’m saying going to the toilet with an audience, every time, can get tiresome.”

Your toddler doesn’t want you out of their sight. That means using the bathroom with your little one babbling about the train he’s trying to show you.

“When I say I need a break.

I’m not saying I wish I didn’t have children.”

It doesn’t help or make us feel any better when someone, who is well-meaning, tells us to appreciate these years…they go by so fast.

That’s not what it feels like and that’s not what we mean. We love our kiddos…more than anything.

That’s why we give them everything we have.

“I’m saying it would be nice to put make up and feel good without prying foundation out of someone’s tiny hand.

When I say I need a break.

I’m not saying I want a holiday – even though one would be nice.

It would be nice to be able to have some alone time to get ready for a special evening out. Or for a little at home pampering.

I remember, back in my toddler-mommy days, when my stylist talking me into buying an expensive deep conditioner for my poor, neglected hair. I laughed because the directions said to leave it in for 10 minutes before rinsing. But I bought it anyway.

My record for leaving it in was two minutes.
