Whether it will eventually overtake the business as a whole, I don’t know, but it certainly seems to monopolize the minds of some Tumblr fandoms.

Retail jobs really suck, just in case you didn’t know that.

Even if you manage to get a good boss, good co-workers, a reasonable wage, and decent hours, there’s still that one unavoidable X factor: the customers. Most of whom are just regular, polite people going about their day. But some of them seem like they were put on this earth specifically to test the limits of how long you can fake a smile while they drive you crazy. Especially if their attitude isn’t just annoying, but hateful. Most of us have had to deal with it at some point.

But who will step up and be the hero Gotham needs? Enter “Steve,” the protagonist of a story posted to r/PettyRevenge:

Now, this is what Petty Revenge is all about.

This is the kind of spiteful action that, while it doesn’t do anybody too much harm, is still the sort of thing you’d hope would be reserved for somebody who truly deserves it.

Most people were team Steve.

Especially if you know what this really entails.

If only we knew his true name.

Of course, is it really revenge if the target can’t put together the cause and effect?

But not everyone thought this was worthy of celebration.

A discussion ensued on whether bad customers were worth keeping.

There was some unpacking of the phrase “the customer is always right.”

It’s a phrase that we’ve really been using all wrong.

Maybe all our retail woes are the result of a bad slogan.

But one thing’s for sure, we’re all at least *a little* in Steve’s corner.

The Christmas movie one of the users mentioned was Miracle on 34th Street, by the way, just in case that was going to bug you for the rest of the day.

Unless you’re in a luxury building with exceptionally sound-proof walls, there’s not much between you and the folks you share a building with.

Heavy times call for heavy metal.

Of course, this strategy could always backfire.

And not everyone was on board with the approach.

Adulting is less fun but…probably more reasonable?

There are pros to living outside the city.

But most of us can’t help but feel at least a little bit of satisfaction.

I’ve got some loud neighbors myself. Hard to get too mad because their taste in music is pretty damn good, but still, they yielded after a couple of polite notes. Not exactly an exciting story, but, probably the approach we need in order to all get along while we’re spending more time at home.

The two scruffy puppies, named Odie and Carmel, are from the Atlanta Humane Society. They were able to take their almost-too-cute-for-words puppy field trip while the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta at a time when the venue was closed to the public.

Of course, they are young puppies, so some people noticed that their attention spans were pretty short:

I’ve had several dogs in my life and I miss all of them a lot.

There was Quincy, who enjoyed taking rides in the car. Bailey was a lovable pooch with a mischievous side. And Bianca was a very nervous, very sweet rescue dog who liked to follow me everywhere and could be very difficult on walks around the neighborhood.
