A Gamer Took the Concept of Petty Revenge to a Whole New Level

There are two types of people in the world – those who get slighted and shrug, moving on and figuring that they were better off, and those who get slighted and spend time devising sweet, sweet revenge.

This gamer, who was unjustly killed in the game within in days of joining the first time, is in the latter group…but like, in a big way that required a major investment of time and energy.

Fallout 76 is touted as a game where “every character is a real person.” Any action one takes is allowed, as long as it is deemed by the judges to be “in character,” and these simple rules are how one guy tossed a nuclear bomb into his space in a similar game…after a months of plotting and lying in wait.

He played a simple farmer-turned-tavern owner.

Like a good barkeep, he listened to everyone’s problems. His place was popular with every sort of player in the game, and he made them believe he was nothing more than he seemed.

All the while, he was brewing enough poison to kill them all.

He unleashed the poison at a harvest festival, laughing onstage as he informed them what he’d done, and that they were all going to die.

It was considered a “permanent death,”after he cut off their heads, which ended, for some people, around 8 years of game-play and character development and everything that went with that.

He got away with it when the situation was reviewed because, for months and months, he had been keeping journals about his simmering and building hatred toward every other character who wandered into his bar.

One or two things a day for over a year, and there was no way the mods could argue the event was out of character.

Everyone had to start over.

Why, you ask? Well, someone once did something similarly unfair to him.

Be careful who you trust online, folks.

That lesson is always applicable, and never gets old.
