We’re used to the prototypical McDonald’s restaurant over the years. Golden arches, red and yellow color scheme, maybe a play area for the kiddos outside.
They’re all pretty uniform for the most part… or are they?
Well, we’re here to give you a reality check, friends! Because here are some photos of McDonald’s from all over the world that are totally unique.
Take a look and enjoy!
1. That one is certainly interesting.
It really does look like a retirement home.

2. This is a cool one.
Glad this one wasn’t demolished.
The McDonald’s in New Hyde Park, NY, called Denton House. Built in 1795 as a farmhouse, remodeled in ~1860 into a mansion. McDonald’s wanted to demolish it in ‘85 but residents fought for 3 years to secure historic designation pic.twitter.com/WHxalXzIjN

Have a presidential Big Mac.
There’s a McDonald’s in Hangzhou, China they put in the former residence of a Taiwanese president and I ate there because I’m a weak American who needed fries pic.twitter.com/RRg2hMnQOl

10. A medieval style.
Douth thou have a Quarter Pounder?
We had a McDonald’s in Shrewsbury that looked normal from the outside but was actually built into the side of a 13th century medieval building. It had a whole suit of knight’s armour too but I can’t find a photo pic.twitter.com/ucfncYOi3T

I guess not all McDonald’s restaurants are created equal, huh?
Have you ever been to an unusual McDonald’s location?
If you have, please tell us about it in the comments and share a photo if you have one.
Thanks!
