In 1982 “Lawnchair Larry” Walters put giant balloons on a lawnchair and launched himself (along with food, beer, & a pellet gun to pop balloons –thus control elevation) 16000 feet up; jets saw him. He lost the gun overboard & drifted 45 min to land in power lines. He lived and was arrested.
