Americans Share the Most Absurd Medical Bill They Ever Received

Healthcare is on many people’s mind these days, and the 2020 election is full of ideas on how to take our broken system and hopefully improve it.

Senator Bernie Sanders is and has been passionate about the topic for much of his career, and is championing a controversial Medicare for All plan that would see the end of private insurance offerings for good.

Regardless of what you think about Medicare for All, I’m sure we can all agree that healthcare costs are too damn high, and something has to be done.

Recently on Twitter, he asked his followers to share the most absurd medical bill they ever got in the mail, and you guys.

They delivered.

20. Always decline the ambulance ride.

19. Nobody should be worrying about the bill.

18. Yeah, that’s not a choice.

17. This one might win for most ridiculous.

16. I’m not sure that’s really science.

15. Heartbreaking AND absurd.

14. A whole new level of insult to injury.

13. We need equal opportunity healing.

12. I’ll bring my own Band-Aid.

11. Only the rich get to live.

10. I mean what else can you do?

9. It would be funny if it wasn’t so infuriating.

8. Answer: hardly anyone.

7. That’s a pretty penny for stuff you could have gotten at Walgreens.

6. You need a surgeon for that?

5. That’s a pretty high price for wielding a pair of tweezers for under 5 minutes.

4. Kidney stones are the worst and if $16k would help, I would have paid it.

3. I think they’re billing the wrong person.

2. Everyone should have a problem with this.

1. What on earth does most of that even mean?

I’m not here to discuss politics, but I think we can all agree that most of these are pretty darn silly.

If you were running for president, how would you solve the problem of rising healthcare costs, access to care, care for veterans, and all the rest?

There’s no easy answer, of course, but give it a go!

People Seem to Agree on One Thing: No One Wants a Remake of ‘The Princess Bride’

America is united! About this at least…

Cary Elwes, who played Wesley in the iconic movie The Princess Bride, had a response to the idea of its remake. “There’s a shortage of perfect movies in this world. It would be a pity to damage this one.”

Sony Pictures CEO, Tony Vinciquerra, had casually mentioned the idea to Variety for a Norman Lear profile piece. Lear was the executive producer of the famed movie that starred Elwes, along with Robin Wright who starred as Princess Buttercup.

Vinciquerra told Variety, “We have so many people coming to us saying, ‘We want to remake this show or that show.’ Very famous people whose names I won’t use, but they want to redo ‘The Princess Bride.’”

The off-hand comment created a commotion on Twitter. Made in 1987, The Princess Bride began trending as the social network users expressed their dismay. Elwes altered one of his famous lines and tweeted his thoughts that it was already the “perfect movie.”

Actor Jamie Lee Curtis, now married to another of the film’s stars, Christopher Guest, tweeted her indignation.

But the best tweets came from fans and celebrities who used lines from the movie to show their outrage. Clearly, they are prepared to defend The Princess Bride to the death.

People tweeted movie memes.

Simply put, the very idea of The Princess Bride remake is…

Any movie that can make both women and men cry at the end needs to remain untouched. Drop it, Sony Films. In the words of the Ancient Booer, “Boo, boo, boo.”

Taylor Swift Fans Freaked out When an “Unknown Band ” Named Tool Grabbed the #1 Spot on the Charts

In very amusing (if you’re not a Generation Z kid) Twitter news, Taylor Swift fans are confessing they’ve largely not heard of popular 90s band Tool.

Tool has always had a strong, loyal following and, since they’ve just released their first album in over 13 years, it’s not hard to believe they’re most likely going to eclipse Lover, Swift’s latest, on the top Billboard chart.

Swift’s fans are not only upset that she’s only going to get to spent one week reigning the charts, but they’re awfully confused…because they’ve never heard of Tool and can’t understand how this “new” band has dethroned Tay.

Swifties have taken to Twitter to try to rally support for Lover, encouraging fans not to give up and to keep streaming, even though everyone realizes it’s probably all for naught.

The best part (if you’re a millennial or older or just someone with great taste in what can now be considered classic rock) is how they’re directing their outrage at this band “no one has heard of” for daring to release such a successful album.

They’re also (perhaps rightfully) “shook” seeing the lengths on most of Tool’s offerings.

For their part, Tool fans everywhere are pretty much delighted at the reaction – and the return of the band to the airwaves and the charts.

I mean, what fun is logging into Twitter if you can’t giggle at teenagers whipped into a frenzy over one of the great bands of your own youth, right?

Are you a Tool fan? A Swiftie? Neither?

No matter what, these tweets are pretty darn funny, if you ask me!
