People Share the Weirdest Facts They Know

Facts are something that we all love and we all have our favorites.

The ones we can’t wait to drop anytime we get the chance, the ones that never fail to get us the reaction we want – and yes, the weirdest things we’ve heard that are just impossible to forget.

Those are the facts Reddit is asking for today, and let me tell you, these 18 people came up with some real doozies!

18. I’ll be listening for that this summer.

When male honey bees orgasm, their penises explode with a “pop!” audible to human ears.

And when winter comes the worker bees (which are all female) kick the male bees out to die in the cold because they do nothing other than mate with the queen and the queen can make more even if she is new and unmated. She needs to mate in order to make more female bees.

17. Consider my mind blown.

Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, collard greens, Savoy cabbage, kohlrabi, and gai lan are all the same species of plant (Brassica oleracea), just bred to enhance different parts of the plant.

16. Well that’s unfortunate.

The man who invented the match.com website lost his wife to a man she met … On match.com

15. Cremated or just a really big can?

Fredric Baur, the inventor of the Pringles can, is buried in one.

14. This is definitely useful information.

Door knobs that are made out of brass can disinfect itself in about 8 hours.

Copper has the same effect. This early study published in April 2020 demonstrates the SARS-Cov-2 virus particles became non-viable after 4 hours on copper surfaces.

13. I mean there had to be some trick to it.

Woodpeckers tongues wrap around their brain to cushion them from a concussion when they peck against tree trunks.

12. The weight of paint.

If you want to paint a violin red you have to use a Naphthol or Pyrrol Red as a Cadmium Red pigment is too heavy and will alter the sound.

It adds up, the first two space shuttle External tanks were painted white. The external tanks ended up weighing 600 pounds more than the unpainted ones.

11. Now that’s ironic.

We don’t really know who the inventor of the fire hydrant is, because the patent was destroyed…….in a fire.

Homer: Springfield’s never had a hurricane in recorded history.

Lisa: The records only go back to the ’70s when the hall of records was mysteriously blown away.

10. Those things freak me out.

Koalas have fingerprints that are very close to human fingerprints. There apparently have been several “break-in” in Australia by the same “person” based of off fingerprint evidence.

Turned out to be a koala that was responsible for all of these.

9. I bet that’s delicious.

Volkswagen makes a currywurst (a type of sausage) and it has its own Original Part number. #199 398 500 A

No word on whether or not it’s wrapped in a proper pretzel.

8. This does not surprise me about poodles.

There was a genetic bottle neck in standard poodles starting in the 1950s. A kennel called the Wycliffe kennel linebred exceptional show dogs which became highly sought after as studs.

Even today, many standard poodles carry a substantial percentage from this line which traces back to just five dogs.

7. Fungi are amazing.

A fungi grows next to the highly radioactive “Elephant’s Foot” in the Chernobyl reactor. It feeds off the gamma rays emitted by the nuclear fuel in a process known as “radiosynthesis.”

If you were exposed to similar levels of radiation, you would have a lethal dose in 3 minutes.

Radiotrophic fungus was first discovered at the Chernobyl site in 1991, just after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the start of internationally-aided cleanup/containment efforts. Not so sure about right next to the Elephant’s Foot, but it was definitely found growing in large, flourishing colonies all throughout the site’s cooling water supply.

This fungus appears to use melanin – the same dark-brown pigment that gives humans all their various normal skin tones, except in much, much higher concentrations – to power sugar-producing reactions by deriving energy from nuclear decay the same way plants and cyanobacteria use the green pigment chlorophyll to synthesize sugars by deriving energy from (sun)light.

Basically, this stuff is a mold colony that has the most extreme tan ever, and uses it to eat radiation.

Similar fungi have been found accumulated on the exterior hulls of low-orbit spacecraft, and experiments were recently (2018-2019) conducted to begin investigating if the stuff could be used as shielding to protect astronauts from solar/cosmic radiation. Apparently, results were promising!

6. This is very disconcerting.

The spinal cord has the consistency of a ripe banana.

Yeah our vertebrae are rings of interlocking armor for a reason.

5. Those are fun party tricks.

Sloths can hold their breath longer than dolphins can. They can also die of starvation with a full stomach.

Their gut bacteria is very temperature dependent. Due to Global Warming ™, the temp in the Caribbean can go below its more usual 23C down to about 20C at times, which will kill their digestive bacteria, so they can’t digest what they eat. Sloths can’t regulate their body temperature well, so they can’t maintain an internal temp to stop this happening.

4. Terrifying, if you’re a caterpillar.

When caterpillars make their chrysalises, the don’t just grow wings & change, they dissolve completely into goo which then reforms into the butterfly.

Better yet, if you “train” the caterpillars to dislike certain stimuli, the resulting butterflies retain that memory & will avoid the same stimuli.

I don’t have a source to hand but I asked a relative who works a lot around butterflies.

She said that it has actually been shown that they retain some structure during metamorphosis, including their nervous system which explains the memory retention.

3. Facts about camels.

Most of the camels of Saudi Arabia are imported from Australia.

The largest wild population of camels is also in Australia.

It is illegal to kill wild camels in Arizona.

Back in the day they imported camels to cross Southern Arizona, found horses more reliable so released the camels. There’s a thriving population of wild horses in Arizona but sadly no more camels. ?

Llamas and other camel species can thrive here though.

Lastly, I remember watching Planet Earth for the first time and seeing Bactrian camels on film, for the first time, in their natural habitat. One of my favorite tv memories.

2. Talk about dark.

Anglerfish mate by the male biting the female’s abdomen.

Over time, the male is absorbed and linked to the female’s circulatory system while the male basically melts into a parasite-looking growth that is actually nothing but testicles which the female will use when she’s ready.

Weird enough for you?

1. And they still didn’t see that iceberg coming.

Titanic was fitted with microphones for receiving underwater bell signals. With this system the sound of submarine bells was received through the hull of the vessel.

Submarine bells, used as fog signals, were located on lightships, at lighthouses, and even on some specially equipped buoys. They were actuated by electric signals, compressed air, or simply by wave motion.

Titanic had two submarine microphones on her hull, one on each side. These were the “ears” of the ship. By switching between the port and starboard microphones and comparing the volume of the bells, the navigation officer could determine the direction to the navigation aid. Sound travels much further through water than through air – these bells could be heard over 15 miles away through the headset.

A pretty cool way of navigating at a time when GPS and RADAR didn’t yet exist!

I’m definitely adding some of these to my list.

People Share Why Modern Conveniences Trump the Decadence of the Past Every Time

When we look back on history, it can be tempting to see the good parts. The things that seem better than they are now, especially for those who were well off in one way or another.

The times we live in are great, but when you’re living in it every single day, the bad parts tend to shine a little brighter.

That said, when someone on Reddit asked whether or not people would trade our modern comforts for an elevated position in the past, pretty much no one said yes.

15. We have a few questions.

Depends, do I keep everything else?

Knowledge, vaccines I already got (ie immunity) – can I choose where to go back to and prepare? If yes I’d definitely go back and jump start a lot of inventions.

Everyone here is only thinking about how their life would be negatively affected (I do too by making sure I wouldn’t just get sick and die) but no one thinks about how much you could help literally everyone alive right now, the more back you go, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.

Staying in the present is the best choice for you, going back could be the best thing for humanity, ever.

14. If you could take your knowledge with you…

I would take a tiny step up for a tiny step back. Industrialist family in the early 1900s instead of a broke family in the early 2000s… I could invest with amazing results…

13. That went downhill fast.

Yes. Go back to 1870 and rob a fucking train with no repercussions.

Other than getting shot without a trial.

Or hung with a trial. Come to think of it, law back then was a lot less law and a lot more like murder.

12. We really do have it pretty good.

No. Never. No matter how much todays society sucks and has it’s flaws, it’s still astronomically better than for example the middle ages.

11. Things weren’t exactly safe.

I’d prefer to be a commoner in the 2020’s rather than a king in the 1020’s
I can still live a long and happy life now vs constantly being at war against disease, the french, and conspirators.

But worst of all…the French.

Also, hello my Kiwi neighbour.

10. It’s just the hard facts.

Hard pass. A average person in a poor country lives better than a Roman emperor. Eradicated disease, vaccine, hygiene, internet…

9. You’ll hear this again and again.

Heck no. As a woman, I have rights in this time.

In the past, even in the recent past, I would be completely at the mercy of men. I don’t care how high up I would be in status, I would still be susceptible to legalized domestic violence and rape with no means of getting a divorce.

Time traveling is not for women or minorities.

8. Who you are definitely factors in.

Hell no. I’m gay, female, Jewish, chronically ill, and a fan of indoor plumbing, electricity, and modern medicine. I’ll stay right here, thank you.

None of those things would go down well in the past. They still don’t go down well for a lot of people today even

Plus netflix!

7. There are a lot of downsides.

Definitely not, women were basically property of men, they were literally second class citizens, gay rights weren’t that great either, and I could go on mentioning racial segregation, etc. Things are not perfect now either, but they used to be way worse, unless you were a straight, white man… This is just from the culture/society point of view, but medicine etc wasn’t that advanced either.

Yeah and talking about how unadvanced medicine was they literally thought in the 80s that babies didn’t feel pain like adults do. So they would do insane stuff like open heart surgery, circumcisions, and other surgery with no anesthesia. No wonder some 80s babies are so messed up mentally they essentially were tortured when they came out the womb.

6. Women have more reasons than most.

Hard no! For one main reason: periods. They’re a nightmare today, so going back to before pads, tampons, diva cups, etc. were invented is a terrible idea.

Also, the whole “women are property/lesser citizens” thing is also a huge detractor.

5. We do have it pretty good.

There are lot things wrong with the world right now but this is the best time to be alive. Better to live in an uncertain future than a terrible past.

No. We never had it as good as today but some people dont see that. Would maybe go back to 2018-2019 before the pandemic

4. Maybe if you didn’t have to go back so far?

If I could go back to the 1990s then yes.

Life was fun and optimistic, limited media was a shared experience across the country and home use of the internet was relatively rare.

People had a better sense of humour and there was no social media to cocoon minority echo-chambers.

3. It wasn’t all bad.

I don’t need to be in a better societal position. Give me a homestead in the Midwest circa 1800 outside a town, and I’d be happier than a pig in shit. I wouldn’t be alienated from my labor. I’d work less and be self sufficient. Communities were stronger. Taylorism hadn’t been invented yet. The industrial revolution and all its consequences had only just begun. Police didn’t exist. No robber barons.

Capitalism was just an idea some guy named Adam Smith wrote about. The climate was stable. Nuclear weapons, predator drones, and Raytheon knife missiles hadn’t been constructed yet. Mass surveillance was impossible. You could build and heat your home with your own two hands and a hatchet.

Basically, what I’m trying to say is, if you ignore the mass murder, the Unabomber had some decent points about industrial society. Not novel ones, mind you — Marx wrote similar things 150 years prior to his deranged killing spree. But perhaps society was better when it was simpler, if you ignore the slavery and lack of plumbing and all that other horrible stuff.

2. We just wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Very few people living in the western world today would be able to handle the loss of modern conveniences.

We live in a world were most people not only do not know hot to fix anything but also don’t know that things can be fixed.

1. Hard pass.

No. Even though I’m working class, life is exponentially better for someone in my position today than even just 150-200 years ago. But to be in a higher class and go back 30-40 years, definitely. I think, financially speaking, that’s what most of us today really want, the security our parents (or maybe grandparents) had.

There was an economist who said all society benefited from innovations of the prior generation. Going back wd erase those innovations. Meaning no travel by plane or car, so basically limited movement. No smart phones or phones for that matter. No television, radio. If you want to hear music basically has to be live. No antibiotics and vaccines, or even aspirin. So minor ailments can’t be treated. No electricity or indoor plumbing. No fridge or microwave. No kindle or access to millions of books.

Not even Alexander the Great who conquered half the known territory lived as well as I do right now. Or, cleopatra. Or, Elizabeth 1st. They got ill w things like consumption. Except for the homeless, even the poor in this country live better than royalty two hundred years ago or more.

I agree with all of these folks, especially as a woman!

Would you go? Stay? Tell us why in the comments!

People Explain Why They Chose To Be Sterilized

Maybe it’s because it flies in the face of evolution, but people tend to be shocked when they find out others don’t want children.

They assume you’ll grow out of it or change your mind, but for some, the desire to remain childless is as strong as others’ biological urge to procreate.

These 12 people express their feelings about living a child-free life.

1. Pets are better than kids

Except that you can’t really send them to their rooms.

I got a vasectomy and my wife got her tubes tied. We would rather have pets than kids.

2. Bodily autonomy can be a powerful drug

That’s when you know you’ve made the right decision.

I got my tubes tied a couple months ago. Doctors said I was going to be depressed but I have never been this happy about anything.

3. Double win, really

Especially when it’s your choice and not the slow march of time.

I had a hysterectomy a month ago. It was liberating to throw away all my tampons today.

4. It really is hard for people to believe

And it’s easier if they think it’s not a choice.

I cannot have children and people always express sympathy when I tell them. I never bother to clarify that I had myself sterilized.

5. Lots of people feel the need to keep it secret

No reason to upset the folks. They’ll figure it out eventually.

Got a vasectomy yesterday. Definitely not going to tell parents they're not getting grandkids.

6. Some secrets are more concerning than others

I guess she’ll figure it out eventually too…

I had a vasetomy 2 years ago. My wife has no idea. She wants more children, and I think 1 was enough.

7. It’s a great alternative to oral contraception

More effective too.

I just got my appointment for tubal ligation (tubes tied) next Friday. I'm 26 and I never want kids. I'm so excited for my child-free life with no medication!

8. Definitely cheaper than a lifetime of birth control, too

1 box of condoms is about $7. Pays for itself in no time.

My vasectomy was the best $15, (the consult was $15, the procedure itself was FREE under insurance), I've ever spent. #nokidding.

9. And there’s so much less worry

In that respect, you could say it pays for itself every month.

Best part of having my tubes tied? You don't freak out as much over late periods.

10. Of course there are other ways of looking at it

That’s definitely one of them.

The best part of having my tubes tied and having an ablation? Cheating won't end in a positive pregnancy test!!

11. Some people can’t accept that it’s what you want

As though it affects them somehow.

When I told people I was getting a hysterectomy for some reason they got really mad. Why would MY choice make you mad?

12. And usually they don’t trust you to know your own mind

It’s the lucky few who are listened to.

One good thing that happened to me in 2016: I got my tubes tied. Everyone told me a doctor wouldn't do it until I was 35. Kiss my a**, I got it done at 23! :D

Those reasons all make a lot of sense to me. Do you think they made the right choices? Tell us in the comments.

People Show the Bitter and Sweet Sides of Sterilization

One of the most invasive questions people can ask you is about your plans to have children…or not.

It’s no one’s business but the people making the choice–and sometimes it’s not even a choice.

But that doesn’t stop people from asking.

At family functions and even in the workplace, if you’re in a committed relationship and over the age of 24, the awkward questions abound.

It’s time to stop asking such personal questions. People don’t have kids for all kinds of reasons.

Fertility issues aside, 10 people explain the myriad emotions surrounding sterilization.

1. Sometimes, it’s a choice you make together

I hope karma, at least, was very sweet.

I got my tubes tied because my husband didn't want more kids. He had an affair and she got pregnant.

2. Sometimes, it’s the mature thing to do

We don’t know their life.

I went and got sterilized after my abortion. I made the right choice to end my pregnancy, but I never want to have to make that choice again.

3. No matter what you say, it’s going to be the wrong thing

Even when you mean well, better just to go about your day.

When a nurse tells you how lucky you are to have had a hysterectomy so young, not knowing that you wanted a child and having it wasn't by choice but necessity.

4. Some people can laugh it off easier than others

But why should they have to?

Thefunniest thing about getting my tubes tied is how much other people think it's okay for them to comment. It's my body, my decision. Kindly f*** off?

5. Taking “it’s none of your business” to a whole new level

Because safety is about more than just preventing pregnancy.

I got sterilized 4 years ago and can't get pregnant. But I won't tell a guy I'm dating that because I don't want to fight with him over wearing a condom. I want him terrified that he could get me pregnant.

6. It could become a dangerous game.

Like at some point you have to tell them right?

My secret is that I've had a vasectomy but I never tell any girls that I date.

7. There are times when it makes total sense

And you end up regretting it anyway.

I had my tubes tied when I was with my abusive ex-husband and now that I'm with the love of my life, I regret it. I want to have a baby with him.

8. But there is still joy, even with regret

Fertility treatments, foster parenting, adoption, pets.

I adopt animals because I regret having my tubes tied.

9. Choice is the key

When you don’t get one, either way, it hurts.

I was given a certain amount of time to have a kid before I'm basically forced to get a hysterectomy... I hate this forced feeling and my life is an absolute disaster...

10. The important thing is doing what’s right for yourself

And living the life you want to live.

I got a vasectomy at 25 and I have zero regrets about it. I have dogs that will never complain about wanting clothes, cell phones, or need to go to college.

These posts show that people are childless for all kinds of reasons, and that everyone should mind their own business until it affects them.

Do you know of other reasons for not having kids that you want to share? Drop them in the comments.

People Confess the Things They Know They Should Understand, But They Don’t

I think every adult in the world has those things they know they should get by now, but since they don’t, they’re too embarrassed to ask because they feel like it’s too late.

Well, folks, listen up – it’s never too late. All you have to do is fine the courage to ask, like these 18 people did, and someone on the internet will be happy to explain it to you.

And since we’re online, you don’t even have to see them roll their eyes first.

18. How were you not prepared?

After waiting in a long line to check out, why is it that people don’t have their money ready?

They get to the register and have to search for a credit card or look for coupons. (All that time in line they could have had it organized and ready to go.)

17. You’re never going to stop thinking about it, now.

Why does the word “fridge” have the letter “d” in it, while “refrigerator” does not?

I only know it because I’ve typed “refridgerator” and gotten the squiggly red line about a million times lol

16. It really is baffling.

How these dogs that have these dense bangs hanging over their eyes can see a single goddamn thing.

I work with dogs, and there’s a family with two Maltese. One they keep very trim with no bangs around the eyes. The other one they keep with very long, dense bangs.

It took me awhile to realize that the one with bangs had no eyes. They keep the bangs long because it’s “less alarming” and people don’t ask as many questions lmao

15. We really can’t wrap our minds around it.

Space, it makes my brain hurt trying to figure out things like stars and black holes etc.

The size and distances with space are hard to fathom. The time it takes to get anywhere is depressing.

The sizes and distances of it all is absolutely mind-boggling. It’s so massive and far that it has to be measured in the amount of distance that light can travel in a year. And light travels 186,000 miles per second. I feel so insignificant just thinking about it.

But it can also be kind of comforting in a way, because that means that all my problems are also insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

14. Human brains are not the kindest.

Why do I trust myself to fail so much and like myself so little? Why do I hate “positive attitude” advice from people?

I hated almost everything about myself until a little over a year ago, now I mostly feel neutral about those things.

I realized that I know every weird quirk and flaw about me and that’s why I can’t see myself as beautiful or pleasant.

I decided to stop overthinking and just accept all my flaws and quirks as what they are. As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone and I’m comfortable, it shouldn’t matter.

13. You’ll never be able to find yourself.

That no concept of an absolute position in space exists.

If it helps, we have lots of guide posts. Pulsars spin VERY consistently and we have documented and mapped out a lot of them. We can use these as place markers to orient ourselves if we ever become a galaxy faring species (big ‘if’ there)

12. I honestly haven’t even tried.

Cryptocurrency.

I’ve it explained to me numerous times but it still goes right over my head.

11. I think it’s complicated.

Why do people who seem miserable as parents decide to have more kids…?

I’d like to direct this question towards the parents I currently nanny for. The father clearly doesn’t like his kids, has said before he never even wanted kids, and yet they have three.

Three children that are quite honestly some of the worst behaved kids I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve been working with kids in and out of a school setting going on 15 years now.

Why didn’t you stop after the first one???

10. Being more aware doesn’t usually lead to happiness.

Existence and self aware, the more you think the more the concept of “I” is creepy

My consciousness was ripped from the void and shoved into this body. Does it go back when I die? Is it nothingness, or something more?

9. Does anyone really get it, though?

Quantum physics.

But mostly how there could ever be a smallest thing. Like everything is made up of something else. Zooming down how could there be something that’s not made up of smaller parts?

Like string theory right, smallest thing is supposed to be vibrating strings of energy? Like what is that energy made of? I don’t get it.

8. But I mean…does it matter?

Where we are, all of us, right now.

Like, where are we?

What is this..?

You know?

7. Science isn’t for everyone. To understand, at least.

Chemistry. I only passed because my professor curved every F to a C.

My best friend has her PhD in organic chemistry and she gave me her dissertation in a bound book. Made the mistake of opening it once and was like, what the heck, this is all gibberish.

6. Not so simple.

How to socialize.

How the heck do I start and keep a conversation going? Or talk to people that I don’t know?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and have slightly improved imo, but still can’t figure it out lol. I feel like at some point I just run out of things to talk about. I guess that can be attributed to the fact that I only have a few hobbies though.

Hanging around my friends who are around their friends that I don’t know just makes me feel like a third wheel because they’re all pretty different from me, and talking to people I don’t know is just uncomfortable.

5. Money is confusing.

The stock market.

My understanding of it is it works because everyone says it does. In fact, all money works that way.

4. Mind over matter?

Why I continue to procrastinate and self sabotage.

I started noticing this happened during job applications and university study.

The common denominator? Perfectionism. I wanted my resume to be perfect before submitting it to a potential employer and I wanted my assignments to be perfect before submitting them for grading.

As a result the process for both was extremely stressful and I would go out of my way to avoid that stress.

3. Don’t strain yourself trying to figure it out.

How light is both a particle and a wave.

Or maybe it’s neither. It’s something that we don’t have a word for and that doesn’t exist in a way that we can sense directly. But this unnamed thing happens to act in a way similar to a wave in some situations and like a particle in others.

A cylinder will roll like a sphere in one direction but not roll like a cube in the other. That doesn’t make it a sphere and a cube at the same time. It makes it something different.

2. Do we really need to understand it, though?

Computers, even though I own one I literally don’t know how to build one or fix one when needed.

1. Can they really not see it?

People that treat everybody around them terribly then complain that nobody likes them.

Honestly I vastly prefer when people wave red flags in your face like that. Saves me a lot of time, energy, and hurt.

I’ll go ahead and admit that I’ve just learned a thing or two, how about you?

Tell us in the comments what question you’ve been too afraid to ask, and maybe we can get it answered!

12 People Talk About What It’s Like to Be Transgender

There’s a lot to be said for feeling comfortable in your own skin.

History is filled with people who didn’t, and suffered for it.

But there have also been a great many people, and probably more than we know, who “passed” unnoticed, as the gender they identified with.

A famous example was 19th century Irish surgeon James Barry, renowned in his day, and serving the British military in the rank of Inspector General before he died.

It was only after he died and was being prepared for burial that people discovered the truth.

It’s a difficult thing. No one should have to announce who they are, but no one should have to hide themselves either.

Like James Barry, these 12 transgender people are hiding in plain sight.

1. It’s no one’s business but yours

But it can’t be easy to hide a part of yourself from the people who are close to you.

I'm trans and have transitioned, but no one knows. I'm worried to hurt closest friends by telling them that I've lied to them all this time.

2. Feeling safe is so important

No one likes to be talked about. But people love to talk.

A person came out as trans where I work and everyone is talking about it. No one knows I'm trans too because I pass so well. I feel so lucky.

3. Some people just want to feel seen

But, just like society has become more accepting of the gay community,
someday maybe the “stealth thing” won’t feel needed.

No one knows or suspects I'm trans. I'm fairly open and nonchalant about being gay, or most people know and assume I am. But not a single person ever questions if I am trans. This stealth thing is hard.

4. Imagine having to navigate romantic relationships

Do you just put it out there? Bring it up on the first date?

Being trans is hard when no one knows you're trans, you're trying to find a relationship and you have to deal with college all at the same time. FML.

5. Restrooms are stressful even without bathroom bills

Even CIS people hate public restrooms.
Imagine what it must be like for the transgender community.

I hate public restrooms. I feel so out of place. I'm trans, but no one knows because my family is a super strict Christian family and would disown me and throw me out.

6. For some, stealth is fine

As long as you can live your best life as yourself, I say go for it.

10 years ago, Ithought I had to just suck it up and live as a man. Now, with no makeup, no surgeries, and even in t-shirt and jeans, no one knows I'm trans. I like being stealth.

7. It can weigh heavily on your mental health

Whether because you’re keeping a secret, or because you’re not living as your true self.

I'm a closeted trans woman. I have depression and anxiety becasue of it. I'm suicidal on some days, but no one knows any of this andthat just hurts me more.

8. It’s such a difficult decision to make

You never know how people will react. And you can’t take it back.

Part of me says, 'F**k it! I don't care if anyone knows I'm trans' and the other part of me says 'makesure no one knows you exist.' I'm still in the closet.

9. Sometimes you get lucky

Especially if your aesthetic fits your form.

I was born male, and I'm trans. But no one knows because I'm a very butchy girl.

10. It can be a long journey

Sometimes the hardest person to come out to, is yourself.

I've been slowly coming to the realization that I'm trans over the past month or so. I'm happy inthe sense that I know why I feel the way I do. However, no one knows and I don't even know how to bring it up.

11. It’s good to know who you are and what you want

The next step is figuring out how to get it.

Seeing the cutest dress at the mall and not being able to get it because no one knows you're trans...

12. So buy the dress, because the second step seems to be Halloween

What better time to be yourself?

No one knows I'm trans in any of my classes so i'm going to cross-dress for Halloween as an excuse to go out in a dress. I want that free candy though LOL.

These posts really show the different sides of being transgender.

Funny Times When People Were Way Too Tired for Life

Most of us are overworked and underslept.

My dog insists on waking me up earlier on the weekend than I have to get up during the week, and she refuses to be ignored.

So I totally get how people can be just too tired, although I do worry about some of them being out on the road.

Here are 13 people who were too tired to do much of anything.

1. At least they’re obeying traffic laws

I mean, mostly… ?

This morning I was so tired that when I stopped at a stop sign I was waiting for it to turn green.

2. Maybe a checklist in the bathroom

I’ve been so tired I couldn’t remember if I washed my hair or not, but man…

One time I was so tired that when I got in the shower, I started washing my hair, then realized that I still had all my clothes on.

3. There are just too many passwords

I could totally see myself doing this one.

I'm so tired that I put my phone password in the microwave to heat up pizza. I need a break.

4. Or were you trying to warm it up?

I have 100% been here before.

I was so tired that I blew on my ice cream to cool it off... I only noticed after it was all gone...

5. We’ll all just pretend it didn’t happen

I have fallen asleep mid-conversation many times, and boy did those conversations get weird.

About a week ago I fell asleep at a restaurant. I was so tired that when I woke up to order, I asked the waitress for nail polish.

6. You only do that when you’re tired?

I do that frequently. Also the whole “where are my glasses?”
(Hint: usually on my face.)

Once I was so tired that I texted my friend saying, "I can't talk now, I can't find my phone."

7. Overly tired or just very proud?

Maybe just enthusiastic about new bling.

I'm so tiredthat I'm in my bathroom looking into the mirror saying, 'I am the gay LORD' just cause I got a new rainbow bracelet.

8. Rocks are people too

Is it the rambling that’s an indicator of exhaustion or the subject matter?

I'm so tired that I'm rambling on about rocks to myself.

9. Now, that’s just polite

Also, how old is the elevator?
Is it possible that you’re sensing the spirit of the elevator operator of yore?

This morning I was so tired that I thanked the elevator on my way out.

10. I get it. Words are hard.

Sometimes I call scallops “little round fishy things” when I’m tired.

The other night when I was really tired I referred to my legs as 'skin pants'.

11. We’ve all been there

But you know, at least it was soap and not deodorant… or toilet cleaner.

This morning I was so tired that I used soap to brush my teeth instead of toothpaste...

12. Very tired–or just really old?

Honestly, even before the pandemic timewarp, this was frequently a problem for me.

I'm so tired that I had to look up my age at work because I couldn't even remember my birthday to do the math.

13. It’s like trying to catch a rainbow

There’s something almost poetic and Quixotic about this one.

This morning I was taking a shower and I was so tired that I slipped and tried to grab onto the water like it would save me.

Honestly, it made me tired just reading all of those. I hope these people all get some sleep soon.

What about you? What is the most tired you have ever been? Tell us about it in the comments.

Memes That Are as Valuable as Cold, Hard Cash

Do you feel broke? Financially or otherwise? Well good news, we’ve got some memes here that are 100% cash. Money.

Now, do I mean that literally? No. Not yet, anyway. Until we hit some sort of full-blown apocalypse in which traditional monetary systems are eliminated and memes are treated as fungible means of purchase, these aren’t actually worth anything. But I feel like the day that applies is two, three weeks out. Max. So, maybe just gather the memes while ye may.

Here they are.

10. Very appealing

Now you can send out those pics absolutely no one wants in even higher quality.
