20 Keanu Reeves Quotes That Might Give You a Different Perspective on Life

Even though Keanu Reeves started off his movie career playing roles as lovable goofballs and slackers (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Parenthood, etc.), he’s actually a pretty deep and introspective person who seems to have a unique outlook on life.

And has this guy had a career resurgence, or what? Reeves is more popular than ever right now due to the success of the John Wick movies, and it’s been announced that there are new Bill & Ted and The Matrix movies in the works.

But back to the man himself, the real-life Keanu Reeves. Let’s take a look at 20 quotes from Reeves, who is, by all accounts, extremely generous and humble in his everyday life.

1. “Every struggle in your life has shaped you into the person you are today. Be thankful for the hard times, they can only make you stronger.”

You Can Try to Survive Against Jason from ‘Friday the 13th’ at This Campground in Arizona

Real talk: I need to get out to Arizona immediately to get in on this action. I’m a horror movie fanatic (and a Friday the 13th fan in particular), and this sounds like a total blast…it also sounds pretty terrifying, so double the fun!

A company in Arizona called On Pins and Needles hosts horror-themed events, including one called F13: Survive Jason that challenges guests to survive a night on a campground with the one and only Jason Voorhees.

Posted by F13: Survive Jason on Saturday, September 14, 2019

The event is described like this:

“F13: Survive Jason is a horror fan’s nerd dream. After watching the series, the question inevitably arises: if I was in this situation, could I survive Jason? We all like to think we can. Avoid the horror movie tropes. Run instead of walk. Don’t investigate that sound in the dark. I decided to put that to the test.

The creation of this game is to let people have the experience of testing their mettle against one of the baddest slashers in the genre, Jason Voorhees. In a safe, real world scenario, players get to step into Camp Crystal Lake and attempt to escape from an unstoppable, unkillable force. If you win, you deserve a prize! If you get caught, well…you’re just another Jason victim.

Hopefully your death is memorable. With a fantastic team working to set up, create, and execute, we hope that everyone who participates has the same thrill that we get.”

Does that sound awesome, or what?

Posted by F13: Survive Jason on Monday, August 5, 2019

The upcoming F13: Survive Jason events are scheduled for November 9, November 16, December 13, and December 21 from 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. so you better get going if you want to spend a night trying to outwit (and not get killed by) the legendary Jason.

It’s True: Bill Murray Applied to Work at a P.F. Chang’s in the Atlanta Airport

Just when you thought Bill Murray couldn’t get any cooler…

The man is full of surprises, isn’t he? But before we get into this amazing story, let’s do a quick review of the 69-year-old actor’s great films: Stripes, Meatballs, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, What About Bob?

The list never ends…

But back to the big story. On a recent episode of Amy Schumer’s podcast 3 Girls, 1 KeithMurray was asked what job he’d like to do besides acting. He said, “I did fill out an application at P.F. Chang’s at the Atlanta airport, because I think that’s one of the great places. It looks like the best time.”

Of course, Murray’s comments went viral and the restaurant chain itself responded to the story. Looks like he has a job waiting for him if he wants it!

On the same podcast, Murray also admitted his love for Family Feud. He said, “I’m going to give you my little secret — I record it. I can come home and I have recorded 61 episodes of ‘Family Feud,’ because it’s on all day long. It’s on all day long and by law it has to be on all day long. But then, what I do is I take the time to fast forward in each episode all the way to Fast Money. Cause that to me is the excitement part of the show. I skip the early rounds because I don’t always respect their tactics.”

No word on whether Mr. Murray will actually be working at a Chinese chain restaurant, but we can always keep our fingers crossed…

A Mom’s Horror-Themed Photoshoot Features a Baby Zombie and She Steals the Show

There are your run-of-the-mill family photoshoots and then there are epic photoshoots like this one…especially just in time for Halloween. Tiffany Renfroe is a photographer who decided to put her own family in front of her lens when she enlisted her husband Daniel and her youngest child Oakley for a horror-filled zombie bloodbath photoshoot. Click HERE to check out Renfroe’s photography page.

Renfroe said,

“Daniel and I are very sarcastic, as people, as parents. Life is too short to take everything so seriously. Our babies (Kaiden-10, Gibson-5, Oakley-11 months) are our world. We are active parents that would rather be doing things with them or giving them experiences over gifts or money, although they still are spoiled. Our kids go everywhere with us and are included in everything we do (we live away from family due to jobs).”

Let’s go to the photos, shall we?

Renfroe continued, “Our daughter Kaiden and [Renfroe’s husband Daniel] started watching The Walking Dead, waiting day by day for the next season. It’s their thing. They also watch a lot of classic horror movies, even Gibson at 5. As long as he isn’t violent, I don’t really care, he isn’t scared and isn’t traumatized by them.”

Renfroe added:

“I didn’t particularly want the kids watching horror movies because they would be scared. But they aren’t. They sit there picking out different artistic stuff and laughing at the ridiculous props, makeup, and costumes used in the old classics! It wasn’t hurting them, making them scared, so whatever. It’s us. My kids are sweet and loving, do great in school, are nonviolent, love others, and that’s all that matters to us as parents.”

Here are a few more photos…and a familiar face showed up to make things even creepier…

20 of the Best Horror Movies from the 2010s

The 2010s are almost in the history books and we get to start a new decade very son. So what will be the legacy of the past ten years?

No, I’m not talking about politics or big news events, I’m talking about HORROR MOVIES. People always talk about the classics from the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s, but the 2010s haven’t exactly been a slouch when it comes to scary movies.

Here are 20 that you might want to check out to get a good scare.

These responses come to us from the Buzzfeed Community.

1. Lights Out (2016)

“I had to sleep with my closet light on for a week after watching this movie!”

2. The Babadook (2014)

“At first you think it’s just another haunting by an evil supernatural being but it actually has a deeper real-world meaning that addresses mental health and the impact it can have on you and those around you.”

3. Sinister (2012)

“I legit had to pause in the INTRODUCTION scene, where the family is being hung from a tree in slow motion, because I was already overcome with anxiety.”

4. Get Out (2017)

“Horror movies don’t really scare me, so for me they are mostly meh. Sometimes there are gems with a great atmosphere like Midsommar, but Get Out was the first horror movie that gave me chills. And it’s an Oscar winner as well.”

5. Hereditary (2018)

“Toni Collette’s scream when seeing her daughter made me wish that there was an Oscar category for best scream. It’s that good and terrifying! I had to stop the movie after that scene before I could go on.”

6. The Conjuring (2013)

“The first one terrified me so badly I couldn’t walk down the hall to my bedroom. Slept downstairs for MONTHS. I can’t even explain what it was but it was so unsettling it caused me anxiety and paranoia for a very long time. Jump scares don’t normally do that much to me but man…. I was just a wreck.”

7. Mama (2013)

“I feel like not enough people talk about how scary Mama was. I saw that movie when I was 25 and still had to sleep with the lights on for a week.”

8. Hush (2016)

“Hush is one of the best stalker movies I’ve seen in a long time. I thought it was going to be one of those typical slasher films but it turned out to be a really intense game of cat and mouse.”

9. Insidious (2010)

“It truly packs a punch when it comes to scare factor on the first viewing. The concept was fresh and truly terrifying. Just a great ride overall.”

10. Last Shift (2014)

“Last Shift is the scariest f$&@ing movie I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen everything known to man. Lights were ON for a while at bedtime that night.”

11. Train to Busan (2016)

“Train to Busan was the best zombie movie I have seen in a long time. As someone who travels on the train often the thought of getting stuck on a train full of zombies is terrifying. The pacing was brilliant and the characters were really well thought out, you care about what happens to the characters. I have loved Gong Yoo ever since I saw him in Goblin and this was on my bucket list and it definitely did not disappoint.”

12. The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015)

“The Blackcoat’s Daughter was terrifying. The twist ending wasn’t hard to see coming, but the slow boil up to that point created a sense of dread that made me petrified to see what was about to happen.”

13. The Witch (2015)

“It was the type of movie that sits in your mind, plays tricks on you for weeks, unsettles you for longer. I saw it months ago and it still knocks me off kilter when I think of it.”

14. Oculus (2013)

“Oculus is phenomenal! I love horror but I don’t spook easily. This one makes you question what you’re even watching and where it falls in the timeline. It definitely had me jump but it leans more on psychological horror than jump scares.”

15. Creep (2014)

“I’m a horror fanatic and the only horror film that has ever genuinely scared me is The Duplass Brothers’ Creep. Peachfuzz actually gave me nightmares. It’s a found footage film and it’s just two characters (one of whom is hardly ever on screen), but it’s legitimately terrifying.”

16. Shadow People (2012)

“The one that made me have to sleep with the lights on for a WEEK is…Shadow People. Super creepy and way underrated!”

17. Us (2019)

“The film had me at the edge of my seat the whole time but what’s scarier is after you leave the film and really think about all of the hidden meanings and social commentary about the film, it feels far too real and that plot twist at the end is heartbreaking but also makes you question everything.”

18. 1922 (2017)

“1922 was horrifying because the main character can’t escape his murderous act no matter what he does, and everything in his life falls apart.”

19. The Invitation (2015)

“The Invitation was soooooooo unsettling. You have no idea if the protagonist really is just paranoid or if there’s something truly sinister going on. The last 15 minutes scared the crap out of me.”

20. Bone Tomahawk (2015)

“Scarier than anything else in these comments by far. I love scary movies but this one fucked me up.”

What are some of your own favorite horror films from the 2010s?

Here Are Some Spooky Movies Kid-Friendly Enough to Watch with Your Little Ones This Halloween

Listen up, parents!

Halloween and scary movies don’t have to be all about blood, guts, and gore, right?

RIGHT!

We need to leave some room for the kids to have a good time and get all creeped out this Halloween season, too. Well, we’re all in luck!

So before you send your kids out the door to trick or treat, they can enjoy these movies to get in the Halloween spirit.

Bonus: some of these are on Netflix so you don’t have to go very far!

Is R.L. Stine the best, or what? If you’re familiar with his Goosebumps series, then you’ll love this movie.

9. Monster Family

Enjoy the family dynamic of a group of classic movie monsters, including characters similar to Frankenstein, a mummy, a werewolf, and a witch.

10. My Babysitter’s A Vampire

A kid who is a little too old to have a babysitter discovers that the one his parents hired to watch him might not exactly be human.

11. Spookley The Square Pumpkin

Spookley is a different kind of pumpkin…he’s square. But he doesn’t let that get him down and he shows all the other pumpkins that it’s okay to be different.

12. Coraline

I’ve heard some parents say that Coraline is a little too creepy for the young ones, but give it a shot and see how the kiddos react. At least they’ll be interested because visually the film is so fascinating.

Learn the Strategies and Secrets of ‘Jeopardy!’ Champion James Holzhauer

James Holzhauer dominated 10 single-day record totals as he won $2,462,216 over 33 appearances on Jeopardy!

His reign ended only because he used Final Jeopardy to finish with scores referencing his wedding anniversary, his daughter’s birthday and other important dates.

So, how did he do it?

Obviously, he knows a lo-ot of stuff. Outside of an excellent run in high school quiz bowl, he devours children’s books and Jeopardy! episodes. He has an extensive knowledge base covering many subjects…and that’s how you get on the show.

According to The Ringer, it was Holzhauer’s speed at buzzer usage that put him on top. He apparently drilled with a homemade buzzer made of a mechanical pencil wrapped in masking tape, while wearing his Jeopardy! shoes in front of the TV.

Fellow record-holder Ken Jennings (74 straight games) said most contestants know the answers (questions, really) to the questions (answers, really), so buzzer speed is what it’s going to take to be the one who gets the money.

Another one of Holzhauer’s strengths was board control. He explained his method in this NPR article. What he would do was always start at the bottom with the highest value clues. Those answers would build up his account fast. After he got past a certain amount, he would start looking for the Daily Doubles. When he found one, he would wager everything he had.

James just passed $1,000,000 in Jeopardy! winnings, so we're launching the official James Tracker! Click here to follow his progress: bit.ly/James-Official-Tracker

Posted by Jeopardy! on Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Risky? Sure, but he had enough confidence to know that even if he lost everything, he could build it right back up. Such self assurance likely comes from how he makes his living–sports betting. Successful gamblers know they have to bet big to win big. It’s all in the strategy.

As Holzhauer told NPR, “All good professional gamblers are selectively aggressive. You need to pick your spots and bet big when you identify them.”

To him, winning over $2,000,000 is all a game to him. But it’s also work he finds supremely satisfying.

How Did Billie Eilish Stand on the Ceiling During Her ‘Saturday Night Live’ Performance?

If you’re familiar with Billie Eilish, you know she pushes interesting boundaries.

I’m not talking about sexual boundaries like Madonna or Lady Gaga, but more troubled, mysterious kinds of boundaries. And she was only 14 in 2015 when her first single, “Ocean Eyes,” dropped!

With her funky personal style and darkly twisted music, she’s become a phenomenon over the last three years. And honestly, there is no end in sight.

You may have caught her appearance on the opening episode of the new Saturday Night Live season, giving excellent performances of “Bad Boy” and “I Love You” (accompanied by her brother Finneas).

Did you miss her “Bad Boy?” performance? Well, she channeled Lionel Richie’s “Dancing on the Ceiling” and the audience went nuts.

Here’s a snippet to explain:

View this post on Instagram

we on the walls n shit ? @nbcsnl

A post shared by BILLIE EILISH (@billieeilish) on

How did she do it?

She must be a witch or something.

Not quite. Cinematic trickery was used to make it appear she could walk on walls.

Here’s how it was done! Justin Theroux, who was in the audience videoed his perspective.

See how the stage moves, allowing Billie to walk the wall?

The camera remained fastened on the initial plane while the stage itself spun. The TV audience wasn’t privy to the behind-the-scenes view, but the in house audience was.

Here’s the full performance to gawk over!

Pretty neat and very appropriate for this particular musical genius.

If you’re dying for more Billie Eilish, look her up—you won’t regret it!
