There are more good teachers than bad ones, but as with every profession, there are a certain number who have burned out, eaten from the wrong apple, or just plain never should have gone into teaching to begin with.
Let’s hear some shitty teacher stories, go off pic.twitter.com/LSMNryfLCB

And while we’re usually all about praising the amazing teachers who keep our lives running smoothly, today we’re showcasing some Twitter responses to the question: tell me your bad teacher story.
11. The best revenge is living well.
But seriously who says that to a kid?
My English teacher in year 12 told me I would never make it through uni with my writing style. I got into a bridging course and the first essay I wrote got a distinction. Since finishing high school I’ve completed a bachelor, two grad certificates and nearly finished a masters.

10. I actually think this is illegal.
Also, gross.
None of my teachers were especially shitty, but my 7th grade social studies teacher was this crazed libertarian and he handed out Ron Paul 2008 memorabilia despite the fact that none of us would be able to vote for at least the next 4 years.

9. This is straight up appalling.
What on earth is wrong with straight men??
My choir teacher in my freshman yearof high school was arrested for statutory rape. He’d had sex with at least 6 different students and got 4 of them pregnant. He’d just married, his wife was heavily pregnant, and had just bought a house. A few days later (1)

8.That is six kinds of wrong.
I hope her mother went off.

7. I cannot believe this is a thing that still happens.
Prison is the place for them.
Me also grade 3. Catholic sch. An old Nun was transfered to the Nunnery after beating a boy around the legs till broken. He had used his left hand to write. She had not accepted the new ruling that it was not sinister anymore!
I was a lefty too. LUCKY— ?Keiran Logan (@LogantekGeo) January 12, 2020
6. She just…denied a medical condition?
Like? I don’t even know what to say.
Teacher refused to believe I had epilepsy. She claimed that I was just lazy and didn’t pay attention in school. “Absence seizures” were just an excuse in her ears. Doctor’s note didn’t help, and neither did a major convulsive seizure on the school steps.

5. Even if you don’t get it at home…
Why does anyone think this is okay?
90? Your brother managed 98.
Oh you wrote an essay in 40 minutes? Your brother did it in 15.
Why don’t you learn from your brother?
Hmm too bad you’re not as smart as your brother.
~that one teacher mmmm I am still working through the effects yes.

4. This makes my blood boil.
Punishing kids for being too good?
I’ve had so many teachers make fun of me for being a bookworm. I once had a teacher not let me participate in glass book discussions because I’d finished the book before everyone else. She made me sit in the hall and failed me for the day.

3. I want to have words with this woman.
None of them are nice.
I was a very anxious 8yo in new school having a panic attack because I’d stuck my worksheet in the wrong book and teacher said if I didn’t stop crying she’d pull down my pants in front of all the boys (such a weird threat and similar to where my anxiety all began). I ran home.

2. I suppose there are probably rules about toys and school.
Lame rules.
This happened at a school where I worked. Two teachers were horrified discussing a student who carried a lightsaber around. I shook my head thinking about the bright future this student had ahead – coding, engineering, writing, so much ahead of him. Carry a lightsaber, kids.

1. That’s not how biology works.
This man was a TEACHER.
I had a male PE teacher who would write down/track whenever someone didn’t participate in swimming because they had their period, if you used the same excuse within a month you’d get an after school detention, because teenagers definitely have regular periods all the time ??♀️

I’m appalled, though I’m not sure why I’m surprised.
