Teachers do wonderful work, a fact that is becoming more and more apparent every day to parents across the country. But their job is often thankless, with low pay and shrinking benefits to boot.
Actress Reese Witherspoon wants to do her part to say thanks to these important figures. Her brand Draper James offered teachers a free dress through its #DJLovesTeachers program. We couldn’t think of a worthier group of people who deserve a little free boost to their wardrobe, either.
“Advocating for the children of the world is no easy task, so I wanted to show teachers a little extra love right now,” Witherspoon said in a statement posted on the brand’s Instagram account.
The giveaway also prompted an outpouring of some pretty serious love for teachers, including some really sweet comments from children of all ages:
Witherspoon’s clothing line features classic American style that’s “steeped in Southern charm and unapologetically pretty.”
The dresses feature bold patterns and color palettes that teachers can wear when school is back in session.
And though a free dress can’t solve all of a teacher’s problems, even a small gesture of appreciation goes a long way:
Teachers are working extra hard right now (and always), so it’s awesome to see them getting some recognition from a big-name celebrity like Witherspoon! We’ll be rooting extra hard for all those educators who put in long hours and always show up for students, no matter what’s going on in the world.
Who was your favorite teacher growing up? What made him or her special?
Let us know the answer to both questions in the comments!
