Regular old house cats have a lot in common with their wildcat cousins. Similar to lions, tigers, jaguars, and other big cats, house cats like to sleep a lot, rub against things, and scratch with their claws. Still, it’s not exactly hard to spot the differences between a big cat and a house cat — which is why one news reporter’s video about a local cougar has been going viral for years.
“I’m Scott Madaus, live in Hernando, Mississippi where there have been spottings of a cougar.”
At that exact moment, the camera panned to a normal house cat just chilling in the background.
You can’t make this stuff up…
The cat that stole the show. Not really sure how my live tease made social media let alone international social media. But here you go if you didn't catch it.

The reporter then stated the obvious…
“That’s not it, that looks like a house cat.”
Yep, just a normal kitty sitting pretty in the middle of the broadcast with that nonchalant “I could give AF what you think about me” look that cats are so great at.
The camera hilariously remains on the cat for the rest of the clip, resulting in a shot where the cat is sitting right on top of the caption “LARGE CAT SPOTTED.”
Knowing cats, this clip somehow isn’t surprising at all.
Gotta love ’em!
