Entire Internet is Disturbed by Revelation That St. Louis Slices Bagels Like Bread

St. Louis, MO is apparently a world unto itself… and not just because they’ve got the world-famous Arch.

The reason we’re talking about the Gateway City today is because of what they do to these delicious circles of boiled and baked bread.

Yes, we’re talking about the humble bagel – the chewy, Jewish-American breakfast staple traditionally served sliced in half, smeared with cream cheese and maybe with a bit of lox and capers?

YUM!

But this is apparently what happens to bagels in St. Louis:

Yes. Apparently in St. Louis they treat bagels like they’re loaves of bread. And the internet is NOT having it.

Because why people… why?!?

Does anybody like St. Louis anyway? (Don’t answer that St. Louisians. You don’t count.)

Although it’s probably too late for this idea…

“Bread slicing” bagels almost feels like a hate crime.

But maybe Christina has an answer. Because what is this St. Louis Bread Company and how can we stop them?

Even Panera weighed in and we’re even more confused! Why are you divided about this?

Quick fun fact many people outside of St. Louis don’t know. In St. Louis, Panera is actually called St. Louis Bread Company. And they have bread slicers in every location for just this reason.

Needless to say, employees suffer as a result.

The struggle is real.

Real fucking real.

Nothing is going to solve this predicament. St. Louis bagel eaters are still going to act like god damn monsters, “bread slicing” their bagels from now until eternity.

But none of us has to like it. Or ever go to St. Louis again.

Sandwich-Loving Vegan is Shocked to Discover That Mayonnaise ISN’T Vegan

Vegans are notorious for how passionate they are about their lifestyle, a passion which sometimes borders on being annoyingly overzealous. Even the ones who aren’t the “militant” stereotype portrayed by the media are still very knowledgeable about what they put into their bodies.

That’s why it’s so strange (and slightly hilarious) that one particular vegan didn’t even know that mayonnaise has egg whites in it!

An anonymous guy who works at Subway told this story.

“Yesterday I had a chick come in, she told me she wanted a Veggie Delight,” he began. “As I went to get the bread she asked me if I could change my gloves cause she was vegan and I had been handling meat. I did that, no problem, perfectly reasonable request. I get her breast, toast it and put all the veggies she wants on it, I start to wrap up her sandwich when she says, ‘Can I get some mayo?’”

This is where things went hilariously sideways.

The employee said to the vegan: “You know mayonnaise has eggs in it right?”

“THIS. GIRL. JUST. STOOD. THERE. SILENT,” he wrote. Then she said: “N-no it doesn’t, I get mayo every time, are you sure?”

After confirming that, yes, he was sure, the girl “stood there with such a distraught and defeated face. I had shattered this poor girl’s world.”

AND IT GETS BETTER. The employee asked again whether she wanted mayo on her sandwich, AND SHE SAID YES.

“So I gave her her mayo, wrapped her sandwich up and charged her for her sandwich, she was silent the whole time,” he said. On her way out, he called “Have a nice day!”

“She just looked at me, sighed, ‘yea, I’ll try’ and walked out. And that’s the story of how I taught a vegan that mayonnaise is, in fact, not vegan.”

Better late than never. FYI, mayonnaise is just eggs with oil, lemon, vinegar, and seasoning.

This Guy Faked Living the Glam Life on Instagram and the Results Are Incredible

“Instagram influencers” are a big business these days. I frankly don’t really understand it – you try to be all glamorous online, and then if you’re good at it, glamorous brands will just start giving you money and free stuff? Okay…

Byron Denton of London, England, decided to conduct an interesting experiment: he posed as a wealthy Instagram influencer, but that is not his reality at all. The whole thing was cooked up by the 19-year-old so he could see how this strange subculture actually works.

Social media is one hell of a drug, don’t you think?

Denton used some tricky photo editing to totally fake out the masses. Here’s a perfect example.

He didn’t leave his living room couch and POOF! he’s on a private luxury jet. This photo received 1,000 likes in only 7 SECONDS.

How did this photo with fake Louis V fare?

Here are some of the comments that rolled in: “Rich and pretty.” “OMG it suits you so much, you’re such a king.” “I feel my bank account emptying as I look at this.” “Everything about this photo is so aesthetically pleasing wow but yeah cool bags.”

Denton said, “I did this to try and compare whether wearing designer items would actually encourage people to like your photos or not, so if we go back to a photo I posted on 1 December, wearing a semi-cute outfit, kinda basic but still kinda cute, this actually ended up getting 2,234 likes, 44 comments, and 113 profile visits,” but then compare that to his new “designer” lifestyle?

He continued, “Me wearing a designer top or designer shoes, the likes I got on those photos even though it’s still an outfit of a day though, just of me wearing a certain outfit, just doesn’t contain any designer, to then be pulling 12,000 likes, so that’s like 10,000 more people clicking the like button of me wearing designer, just because I’m wearing designer.”

Denton said, “I had a lot of messages from my friends asking how I was affording all the designer stuff and a lot of comments from my followers asking if I’d won the lottery or something.”

Denton’s likes, followers, and comments skyrocketed throughout his experiment.

Denton said, “[The experiment has] made me question everyone’s moves on social media. Do a lot of the high-profile bloggers these days actually make their way to the top by being honest or do they fake some of it?”

He conducted the experiment for a week and then revealed on YouTube how the whole operation worked.

What’s the lesson here? Don’t believe everything you see on social media. Or maybe any of it…
