I love a good weird name. Back when I was on the road a lot, I once passed a town called “Natchitoches,” and I’ve always regretted not going.

I also once wanted to start a band called “The World” just so we could have a tour that ended in Hell, Michigan – naturally, the tour would have been called “The World’s Goin’ to Hell!”

Scientists Say Beards Keep You Healthy and Handsome

I mean, as a bearded fella myself, I might be a little biased about this but I, for one, couldn’t be happier about this news.

A study from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, found that men who have thick, rugged beards receive benefits that make them healthier and more handsome.

In what must have been a very strange sight, the researchers left mannequins in the harsh Australian outback and studied the results. Some of the mannequins had beards and some were bare-faced. The study found that the beards blocked 90 to 95% of harmful ultraviolet rays on the mannequins from the blazing sun. This help beards reduce the risk of skin cancer in the skin they cover.

But don’t think you can just get by with a little stubble. One of the researchers said,

“Facial hair has an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of anywhere from 2 to 21. The percentage of UV blocked to the skin depends on the thickness and angle of the sun…Provided the beard is of reasonable thickness, I do not think there is a need to slather sunscreen over the beard due to the protection it provides. It has to be a thick bushy beard and not just stubble.”

Having a large beard also protects the face from irritants and can keep the face youthful by retaining moisture and blocking harsh wind.

Bottom line: embrace that beard of yours if you have one! It’s good for you!

Genius Girl Scout Sells Jason ‘Momoa Samoas’ by the Case… And He Actually Responds

The Girl Scout program has long been known for instilling the spirit of entrepreneurship in young girls across the country, but every now and then it produces a true virtuoso.

Charlotte Holmberg a fifth-grade Girl Scout with an intense desire to be the best cookie salesman, and she also knows a good meme when she sees one.

Charlotte’s mom, who works in marketing, noticed a Girl Scouts meme that pointed out how ‘Samoas’ (aka ‘Caramel DeLites in some areas) sounds like Jason Momoa.

Believe me when I tell you… young Charlotte kept her eye on that prize and she did not disappoint. You see, in 2018, Charlotte sold over 2,000 boxes of GS cookies, earning herself some kickass badges, ample street cred, and the official title of Cookie CEO.

But that just wasn’t enough. Charlotte had gotten a taste for blood, and in 2019 she was thirsty for more. There’s no way she was gonna let an opportunity to exploit every hulking inch of Jason Momoa’s ridiculous body for personal gain pass her by.

So she and her mom formed a plan: they photoshopped Momoa onto a Samoas cover, printed new boxes, and promoted like hell. I’m sure it comes as no surprise to you that they started selling by the case.

Internet Can’t Stop Laughing at Guy Who Mistook His GF’s Thermometer for a Pregnancy Test

When Izaak Torres of Costa Mesa, California got a text saying “Holy fuck,” from his girlfriend at 4 a.m. in the morning with a photo of a thermometer, he was understandably confused. That confusion may just have led to the “Most Hilarious Mistake Ever.”

His girlfriend, Vanessa Marie, sent him the picture and the text because she was running a 100-degree fever (seen in the photo below).

“I said ‘holy fuck’ because I was so frustrated that it was 4 a.m. and I was dead tired, but I didn’t want to go back to sleep until my fever went down some more,” Vanessa told BuzzFeed News.

Izaak read the text when he woke up briefly at 7 a.m. and he FUH-LIPPED OUT.

“I didn’t get his text until I woke up around 11 a.m. and I just died laughing,” Vanessa said.

As for Izaak, he realized his own mistake a couple of hours later when he was fully awake. He says he “felt like a dumb ass” but tried to just keep it moving.

Still, Vanessa had to share the screenshot on the internet, because who can miss an opportunity to clown their boyfriend in public?

And Izaak got clowned, alright. Roasted, even.

People pointed out that he must have interpreted the reading as “100% pregnant.”
