Is This Single Mom a Jerk for Saying That Daughter Inherits House “No Matter What”? Here’s What People Said.

Things in life can seem just fine until money or property is involved. You know what I’m saying, right?

And that’s why this story obviously touched a nerve for the woman who wrote it. It concerns her house that she eventually wants to give to her daughter…but now there’s a man involved…

AITA for saying that my daughter inherits my house “no matter what”?

“I’m a single mom in my 50s with one daughter. I got very lucky in that I bought a home in the Bay Area nearly 30 years ago for around $230K before the tech boom and now the house is worth about $1M.

I have a 23 year old daughter Camila who grew up in that house and she moved out last year to go live with her boyfriend. I’ve never explicitly told my daughter “the house will be yours” nor has she asked anything about it, but just sort of common sense – that’s my daughter. Who else would I give it to?

One important note – There are 2 homes in the neighborhood that are owned by lower middle class people (me and a neighbor who’s been here as long as I have). Otherwise, our neighbors are engineers and software developers. The Bay Area is simply un-affordable if you’re not in tech. My daughter is a hair stylist.

My fiance Steven and I have been together for 2 years. He has 2 young children (elementary school) he has joint custody of who I adore and I’m excited to help raise them. Steven and I don’t have a ton in the bank so a pre-nup seemed silly if it weren’t for the house.

I told him that I’m ready to combine finances and plan long term with him, but I wanted a pre-nup agreement just for the house. It’s a non-negotiable for me that my daughter inherits the house. He wasn’t happy with this. He said that $1M split 3 ways is enough for all 3 kids to get a headstart in life.

I disagree, I paid 80% of the mortgage by myself and Camila is my only child. She can have her dream life (working as a hair stylist, living in the Bay Area) with this house but will be unhappy (have to move out to a less desirable area) if it’s split.

I spoke to Camila about this and she agrees that she should get the house and said she always planned on inheriting it, just like I always planned on giving it to her.”

Readers shared their opinions about this conundrum.

This person said that she’s only been with this guy for two years and that his demanding part of the house is totally absurd.

Another reader said that the woman needs to talk to an attorney ASAP to figure the situation out.

This person pointed out that she needs to put her daughter’s name on the property as well. You have to cover your bases when it comes to this kind of stuff…

This reader said that the woman bought the house long before this Steven character was in the picture…and that it’s kind of presumptuous for him to think that he and his kids would get a piece of the action after they’ve only been together for two years.

Finally, a Reddit user talked about how the woman needs to give the whole thing to her daughter because she did all the hard work and living in the Bay Area is EXPENSIVE, so everything should go to her daughter.

Man Asks if It Was Wrong to Throw His Mom Out of the House After She Threw Out His Weed

This headline made me laugh very, very hard.

But, everyone’s situation is different and apparently this guy and his mom are embroiled in a weird struggle with his mother.

The man shared his story on Reddit’s “Am I the *sshole?” page.

Take a look at what happened and check out how Reddit users responded.

AITA for throwing out my mom after she threw out my weed?

“So I am a 30 year old man. I’m single and live alone in a house that I own. A few months ago you know what happened and my mom lost her job. So I decided to let her stay with me.

I have a medical marijuana card and smoke every day. I knew my mom disliked weed so I warned her before she moved in that I would be smoking weed daily and would not stop for her. She agreed, and only asked that I smoke outside. Which I thought was a relatively reasonable request; weed has a strong smell and many people don’t like it.

At first this worked out fine at first. But she started making remarks about how I should quit, ect. I mostly just ignored them/brushed them off. Then it evolved to her demanding that I quit. As if I were still a child she could issue orders to.

I refused and told her that she can move out if she doesn’t like it. She started crying and saying that I don’t love her, I have a problem, ect.

The next day, I come home from work to find her waiting for me. She explained that she had flushed my weed (a little less than an ounce) for my own good. And then demanded that I go to treatment.

Well, predictably, I was furious. And not even really about not having the weed anymore. It is pretty cheap (I usually buy ounces for $125) and I can easily get more.

It was about her total lack of respect for me. I’m an adult, own my own house, have a good job, and have approval from the state to legally purchase and possess marijuana. So someone I’m doing a huge favor for demanding that I stop and throwing out my stuff when I refused is extremely outrageous to me. No matter if she pushed me out of her vagina 30 years ago.

Anyway, we argued about this for a while and it became clear to me that she was not sorry at all and that she would probably do it again. So I told her she can’t live with me anymore. I gave a month, but she has already packed all her sh*t and drove to my brothers house a couple hours away.

She obviously thinks I’m a huge *sshole. So does my brother. But I think that’s mostly because she is his problem now.”

Let’s see what people had to say about this.

This person stated the obvious: this guy is an adult and he doesn’t need his mom’s approval for anything. Times have changed, Mom!

I love this one: “Master level boundary setting.” I’m gonna have to start using that…

This person made it very clear where they stand. The man OWNS the house and his rules are the only ones that matter.

Another person made an observation that I like to make all the time: why is it okay to drink yourself into oblivion but marijuana is considered horrible by some people?

This Reddit user also thinks that this guy is not wrong in this situation. And he also made it clear BEFORE his mom moved in that he wasn’t going to quit smoking weed.

Some people…

Finally, this person commended the man for setting boundaries and said something that we should all shout from the rooftops: your house, your rules!

This Woman Made Her Teenage Daughter Sleep in a Tent. Does That Make Her an A-hole?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a story like this before…

But that means it’s gonna be a good story that we can all comment on!

And this one is a doozy.

A single mother of two girls shared a story on the “Am I the *sshole” forum on Reddit about how she chose to discipline one of her kids.

Let’s see what happened.

AITA for making my daughter sleep in a tent

“I (34F) am a single mother to two girls, ‘Jasmine’ (16F) and ‘Jessica’ (14F).

Their dad passed when I was pregnant with Jess, and I had to work hard. We hit rock bottom, and I was barely making pay cheque to pay cheque but I managed to get a degree, become successful and we live well. Point is, I know how f*cking hard it is to be at the bottom of society, and my daughters know this, which is why I was livid at my daughter’s actions.

Yesterday, Jasmine showed me a video of Jessica cussing a homeless man out and telling him, ‘stop asking me for money, you’d earn it yourself if you weren’t so f*cking lazy and spending what you earned on substances.’

When the homeless man complained about the cold (we live in Northeast England), Jessica responded ‘Yeah people camp for fun, even in December, you can’t complain, you’re living someone’s holiday.’ Fury was an understatement for what I felt, as I thought I had raised an empathetic daughter.

Along with finding the homeless man and making her apologise and help pay for a hotel room for a night for him (she paid £20), as well as signing her up to volunteer at a food bank – I decided to take her up on her offer of sleeping outside.

I locked her bedroom door so she couldn’t go in, put a sign on it saying Closed for the holidays, pitched a tent in the garden and filled it with blankets and the sleeping bag I used when I was camping in Norway on a family holiday as a teen (aka really bloody thermal).

I slept in the room closest to the garden for that night so I was nearby if anything was to go wrong. She was reluctant to do it, but chose it over the option of not having access to her phone until the Christmas holidays are over.

In the morning, she was crying about how horrible it was to wake up on a cold mat and get disrupted sleep due to birds. After comforting her, I asked her would she like to do that everyday like the homeless man. It struck a cord with her and she was crying over her actions, while even after the £20 she was rolling her eyes and her apology was not sincere.

This afternoon, I came home from work to Jessica making a big meal to donate to the homeless people who live on the road near our house. I was proud of how she turned over a new leaf, and after taking the food to the people, my sister came over. Apparently, my nephew and Jessica were talking at school, and he asked her about her plans for the afternoon, and she said that she was going to cook for the homeless.

My nephew asked what triggered that, and Jess told him everything, which he relayed back to his mum. My sister said that my punishment was too harsh, and just the £20 and the food bank would have done the trick, and I was acting irrationally due to my past. Now I’m second guessing myself.

AITA?”

Let’s see what folks on Reddit had to say about this story.

One person said she thinks the mother did the right thing and that it most likely changed her daughter’s horrible attitude.

Another person said that the mom taught the child a good lesson and most importantly taught her EMPATHY.

One Reddit user called the mom’s actions “the most appropriate punishment.”

And they stated the obvious: kids can be real jerks sometimes, so they need to be put in their place when that happens.

One person got right to the point: the woman’s daughter got off easy.

Finally, a reader said that the mother did the right thing and there was nothing cruel about this life lesson.

Sounds like this family is going through a really tough time…

This Woman Asked if She’s Wrong for Not Letting Her Sister Near Her Animal After She Made a TikTok Video With It

If you mess with any animal in any way, shape, or form, you’re no friend of mine.

And people these days seem to be doing all kinds of stupid pranks not only to other human beings but to animals as well to get a few laughs on social media.

An 18-year-0ld woman asked if she was wrong for the way she reacted to what her younger sister did to her pet.

Let’s see what happened…

AITA for not allowing my sister near my bearded dragon after doing a TikTok trend with my pet?

“I(18F) have a bearded dragon named Phil who I have had for about 1 year now. Phil is deeply loved by me and my family.

My sister(15F) who I will call Jane, really likes to make TikToks of Phil which I have completely no problem with since they’re normally just videos of Phil running around or doing something silly like opening his mouth when he basks.

Yesterday my sister came up to me to show me a Tik Tok she had made of Phil. There is a trend on Tiktok of putting butter on dogs as some audio plays over it of this guy saying “butter dog”. Well Jane showed me a video of her putting some soft butter on Phil so that she could follow the trend. When I saw that I became very upset.

I had seen a video recently of someone explaining how doing this trend with bearded dragons can be dangerous cause the butter will stick to their skin and if they get put back under their basking light the butter will heat up and basically burn the bearded dragons skin.

I told Jane to delete the video and that she can’t do stuff like that with Phil and quickly got him out from under his basking light that she had put him back under after the video and started to bathe him in the tub to try and get off any of the butter she didn’t wipe off.

My sister came and told me I was overreacting and that it’s just a fun trend. It snapped at her and told her I’m not letting her near Phil until she apologizes to me and promises to not do trends like these with Phil again, and ask me every time she wants to make a video with Phil.

My sister got angry and told me she wasn’t apologizing for just wanting to have fun with Phil and that I can’t take Phil away from her. After I finished making sure all the butter was off I put him back in his tank that’s in my room and told her she’s not allowed to come in and take Phil.

My parents found out this morning and told me I was out of line for what I did and that it was just a innocent video. They told me I need to stop freaking out so much over things that involve Phil. My sister said she’s not apologizing cause she didn’t know it would hurt Phil so I should get over it and let her see Phil again.

I feel like I can’t trust her with Phil though, if she hadn’t shown me the video Phil would’ve sat in his tank getting burned under his basking light and I wouldn’t even know until it was too late.

I think I might be the *sshole cause I could be overreacting like my family say I am and for yelling at her when she didn’t know that doing the trend would hurt Phil.

So reddit, am I the *sshole here?”

What the hell…?

Here’s how people responded to the story on Reddit.

This reader didn’t mince words: this was not funny and it was animal abuse.

Another Reddit user said that the woman is entirely justified in the way she acted toward her sister.

This person said that the woman’s sister has lost the privilege of seeing and spending time with Phil (great name, by the way) and that the safety of the pet is the most important thing.

Another person said that while she might have been a little bit harsh with her sister, the younger sibling is acting like a child and she needs to grow up and take some responsibility for her actions.

What do you think about this situation?

Is this girl wrong or were her actions justified?

This Dad Gave His Kids a Major Reality Check When It Came to an Inheritance. Was He Wrong?

Sometimes kids need a HUGE reality check. And who better to give it to them than their parents?

And that’s exactly what this father did when he decided to teach his two adult children a lesson about working and making money.

But now he’s having some second thoughts and thinks he might have been too harsh…

Let’s see what he had to say on Reddit’s “Am I the *sshole?” page…

AITA for telling my kids that they aren’t getting a penny from me when I die if they don’t shape up?

“I (57M) have two kids, N(30M) and A(27F). N works part-time flipping burgers, but insists his real job is as a gaming streamer.

A claims she’s a ‘professional’ influencer, her livelihood supported by her bf. My kids are adults, what they do with their lives is their choice. We’ve had several arguments about it, but ultimately, as adults, the responsibility for their lives is their own.

Over Christmas, we were talking about their mother (on zoom) when A brought up the subject of her will, wondering if she’d left anything to them. I confessed that she passed before ever writing one, and the money she did have was used up the year she passed.

We were a dual-income family in a time when neither of us were making a lot. It was a hard time. Eventually, I joined a friend in the private sector and my fortune changed. I’m not ‘rich’, but I’ll never be uncomfortable again.

Well, N then decided to ‘lighten the mood’ by implying that I’ll make up for it when I pass. I asked him what he meant, and the conversation went as followed:

Me: What do you mean?

N: Well, you have a lot of money, right? It’ll go to us.

Me: And who told you that?

A: What do you mean?

Me: I’ve made it very clear that I don’t approve of the way you both live. You both chose not to get an education or real jobs. You have no way of supporting yourself. (I often buy them groceries).

You refuse to help yourselves, so why would I enable your ‘lifestyles’ by leaving you my savings when I die? You want my money, then grow up and get real jobs, but the bank of dad will be forever closed when dad is forever closed.

What followed was a heated argument where both N and A accused me of being manipulative and unsupportive, so I got real with them.

Me: You both refuse to grow up. Flipping burgers is an honourable job, but it’s not going to keep a roof over your head. What if you have kids? What if you get fired? And (A), what will you do if your boyfriend breaks up with you because all you do is sit on your *ss all day and take photos of yourself?

You want to do that, find a modelling agency. A real job. You both speak of chasing your dreams, but neither one of you are in any position to do that because neither of you wants to take responsibility for yourselves right now. I’ve said it a million times. You’re adults.

What you do with your lives is your choice and your responsibility. Dreams take money, and neither of you have that. Grow up. Get a job. A real job. Then chase your dreams. I’m not going to leave a penny to either of you if your life plan is to ‘get by’ until I die, then coast through the rest of your lives off the earnings of my hard work.

N ended the call after a prolonged silence. A called me an AH then did the same. I haven’t heard from either since, and neither will take my calls.

So, AITA here? I think I might be because I was unnecessarily harsh on Christmas.”

Let’s see how folks on Reddit responded…

This person said that this dad is not in the wrong in any way, shape, or form because that money is all his and he earned it.

Another reader said that his kids really need to grow up and get serious because he’s only 57-years-old and has a lot of living left to do.

This Reddit user talked about how this man’s kids are totally unrealistic and he did the right thing by putting them in their place.

A reader said that he can relate to this guy’s situation because his brother is totally irresponsible when it comes to money and work.

Finally, this person said that everyone is to blame in this situation.

And dad should have made his kids realize this is how it was gonna be a looong time ago.

Do you think this dad went overboard in his actions or was he doing the right thing?

A Person Asked if They’re Wrong for Pretending to Get Fired When They Argue With Customers

I guess you might want to cut this youngster some slack because they’re only in high school, but still…I’m not sure about this kind of behavior…

A youngster shared their story on the “Am I the *sshole?” page on Reddit to see if people thought they were out of line when they pull a very specific prank at work.

Here’s what they said.

AITA for pretending to get fired when customers get a temper with me?

“I am a high schooler with a weekend job at a coffee shop. My coworkers who work weekends are:

James – the owners son, he goes to my school. He’s a shift manager but it’s not a real formal thing, he’s a friendly guy.

Danielle – A college student who sometimes works weekends too.

So sometimes customers will come in and just be angry about such little stuff. Like literally blow up about nothing. I dunno if theyre in a bad mood already and looking for someone to take it out on or what, but it’s a lot… Like how sad so your have to be to be a grown-*ss man taking your anger out on high school and college kids.

So James and I were joking about having a little fun with them and hopefully getting them off our backs.

So one day I was at work and some guy was having a temper about how we don’t make the coffee hot enough… Which I couldn’t do a thing about because I gave it to him right out of the machine.

So James came in and was like “sir is there a problem here” and the guy started ranting at him too. So he was just like “OP, this is unacceptable, you’re fired.”

I started acting real sad, like “no please don’t fire me, my family needs the money, I need this job, pleaseeee” and he played up being a hard-*ss, telling me to take off my apron and leave.

The angry guy started to backtrack, like “It isn’t that big of a problem, you don’t need to fire her over it. I didn’t mean it” and James was like “No, we pride ourselves on the best customer service”

Of course after all that drama I still had my job, we were just acting. And we’ve done it a couple times, whenever a customer will lose their temper at Danielle or I, James will storm in and “fire” us. And almost every time, the person who had come in angry will apologise and say that they didn’t mean it. It’s kind of satisfying, making people realize their actions might actually have consequences.

Anyway, I was telling my friends from school about this and a few of them thought it was a mean prank, to let someone go away thinking they’d gotten someone who desperately needs the money fired.

AITA for this joke?”

And folks on Reddit responded.

This person said that the kid is not a jerk for his behavior and that some customers are just plain horrible to deal with.

This person said that yes, the kid is an *sshole, and that so are the rude customers.

Another reader said that they also think everyone involved here are jerks, but they think so because it’s just bad business to let employees act this way and get away with it.

I think I agree with this stance.

Another Reddit user agreed and said that the business is going to suffer in the end for these kinds of actions.

Finally, a reader said that this kind of behavior should not be tolerated by the owners of the business because it just looks really bad all around.

Dealing with occasional bad customers is part of the job, but this is not the way to deal with it.

This Dad Wants to Know if He’s Wrong for Giving His Kid’s Stuffed Animal a Crude Nickname

Dads…sometimes they really put their feet in their mouths when they’re just trying to be funny.

This isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my life, but I can see how some people would be offended by what this dad did.

And this guy took to Reddit’s “Am I the *sshole?” forum to ask the fine folks there if he was wrong for using certain language in front of his young son.

Let’s take a look at what he had to say.

AITA for suggesting my 7 y/o name his new stuffed tiger “Tig Bitties”?

“My son won a stuffed tiger at the fair last night and said he had named him “Tig”.

He asked me what its last name should be. I couldn’t help myself and just instantly replied “Bitties”.

Then I turned to my wife to share a smirk, but she was p*ssed and quickly suggested a few different last names, but my son insisted that he liked “Bitties”, so now his Tiger is Tig Bitties.

My wife thinks it was completely inappropriate, I think it was a silly joke that went over his head and will have no negative ramifications.”

And here’s what folks had to say on Reddit in response.

This person thinks the whole thing was blown out of proportion and that people need to chill out.

Another Reddit user agreed and said the whole thing was just a joke.

But another reader thinks that this guy is an *sshole and that the kid is bound to repeat this name in front of other folks.

We all know kids can’t really keep their mouths shut…

This Reddit user is having a hard time making up their mind.

They think the dad was wrong…but they also think the name is pretty funny.

And finally, this person did not think the dad did anything wrong here. So I guess “Tig Bitties” might be here to stay…

Now it’s your turn to sound off.

In the comments, let us know if you think this dad was being funny or was he being a big-time jerk.

We’d love to hear from you!

People Talk About What They’d Do if Their Dog Learned How to Talk…and Knew All Their Deep Secrets

Are you ready to get VERY weird?!?!

Imagine this scenario…your dog is basically your therapist and knows all your deep, dark secrets…we’re talking about the REALLY DARK stuff.

And suddenly, they have the ability to talk! Uh oh…this could be bad or it could be good.

So what would you do in this scenario?

Let’s get weird with folks on AskReddit!

1. You need to get over this.

“We could sit down and have a discussion about how claw trimming is NOT the most terrifying thing in the world.

I promise.”

2. Oh, no!

“Rename him “Old Yeller” and take him for the longest short walk of our lives.”

3. Time to party.

“F*ckin celebrate.

My dog is a godd*mn genius dog and she’d be be down for all kinds of mischief.”

4. I will never leave you.

“Explain to him how much I love him and tell him that I’ll never leave him. He has severe separation anxiety.

I’d wanna comfort him and tell him that he’s my world and even though I leave once and a while for work I still love him.”

5. Boring!

“I am so boring.

I would ask it what it has against squirrels and try to persuade it not to bark when my wife is trying to sleep and I’m watching something on my laptop.

The days of my deep secrets were over by the time we got her. *sigh*”

6. Could get dicey.

“My dog loves me a lot.

However, he is absolutely convinced I will abandon him any day. He would probably just complain to everyone else how he carries the relationship and I am just not as invested.

Lots of trash talk, but none of it true and certainly nothing I would worry about. Though he may ne disgusted by my active s*x life and trash that too.

He is a really prudish dog.”

7. Two different stories.

“Depends.

If it’s my old man doggy, I would cry uncontrollably. He’s been having a lot of medical issues and it’s been exhausting and frustrating so I would just want to communicate to him that I love him and that we’re doing everything we can and to please stop pooping at the vet’s office every single time.

If it’s my Great Dane, I’d have an honest to god discussion about him getting into trash cans and begging, as well as explaining that he needs to start being nice to other dogs all the time.

Not just when he feels like it. I’d also ask him why he stopped wanting to sleep in my room.”

8. A real dummy.

“My dog is so stupid, he would tell me all the dumb sh*t he’s planning on doing before he does it.

“Oh I see you accidentally left that candy bar on the counter mom. Don’t worry, I’ll eat that for you.”

The he’ll be all surprised pikachu face when I put it away hahaha. I don’t think he gives a f*ck about telling anyone my secrets. That’s all human nonsense to him.”

9. Best friends.

“My dog loves me, she’s sleeping by my feet while I write this.

Firstly I’d just want to thank her for helping me through a dark phase of my life and prevented me from harming myself. She also has helped me get healthier, I say I take her out for walks but in reality she takes me out for walks.

But I need to also know why she slowly walks under shrubs and bushes and goes into a trance??”

10. Keep him quiet.

“Buy as many dog bones as I could so he wouldn’t talk.

It’s been me and him since I was twenty.

I’m twenty eight now and I have made many mistakes that he has been a witness too.”

11. You know it!

“Crack a few beers, sit down for a few hours and listen to my dog’s story!”

12. It’ll be fine.

“I’m pretty sure she’d keep my secrets. I’m her fifth home in her relatively short life and she’s here to stay. I think we have a pretty good relationship.

Lord knows she hears a lot of privileged health information though. I work on call hospice and tend to talk to myself while doing paperwork. I live alone and pretty sure a regular dog can’t violate HIPPA.

If I explained to her that talking about all the work related stuff she’s overheard meant that I would lose my job and ability to provide chicken jerky, I’m sure she’d keep quiet about that much at least.

Now I love my cats but I think the tomcat would sell me out. It might be an accident though. He’s not the brightest animal I’ve ever met.”

Oh boy…now we want to hear from you.

What would YOU do if you suddenly found out your pooch could talk?

People Shared the Stupidest Rules They Had at Their Schools

I still have a hard time believing that I actually went to school for all those years until I graduated from high school.

The cold, early mornings, the bus rides, the long days, and of course…THE RULES…

There were so many of them! Ugh. I really don’t miss those days at all…

AskReddit talked about the dumbest rules they had at their school. Let’s take a look.

1. Come on!

“If you were involved in a fight, you got suspended. While it sounds reasonable, context didn’t matter.

I got suspended once not for throwing a single punch, kick, whatever. I got suspended because someone knocked the books out of my hand and when I reached down to grab them they punched me in the face.

I got suspended for walking down the hallway and unprovoked getting punched in the face.”

2. Really dumb.

“Can’t wear too many matching shirts because you could be a gang.

This was in regards to a kid with cancer wanting to make a bunch of shirts.”

3. Put on some clothes, mister!

“You got in trouble if you wore just a hanes white t-shirt after school because “you were in your underwear”.”

4. Banned!

“My high school banned t-shirts that had the cover of Rush’s album Signals, an album popular at the time, which features an image of a dog sniffing a fire hydrant.

They considered it scatalogical because the dog was about to pee on it. This struck the entire student body as extremely stupid, and roughly 1/2 of the student body picked a day to wear the t-shirt.

We won.”

5. Bad idea.

“We were all given these ugly planners at the beginning of the school year, with a few pages at the back filled with ‘hall passes’.

If you didn’t have your planner, or if all your boxes were filled, you weren’t allowed to go to the bathroom. And no, you couldn’t buy a new planner. Or borrow one from your friend.

The only excuse you had was if you had a doctor’s note, but no doctor is going to give a note for an upset stomach caused by the school lunch.”

6. What’s going on over there?

“In grade 8, we were banned from standing in circles at recess because of potential scandalous activity going on in the middle.

We stood in squares instead.”

7. Showed them.

“They banned the word snap, since everyone used it instead of sh*t.

So we all just started saying sh*t.

The snap ban lasted about 3 days.”

8. Kind of expensive.

“The $200 blazer was compulsory and we got detention every single day until we got it.”

9. Sounds like a hoot.

“A girl and a boy couldn’t sit together.

The school employed “disciplinarians” to roam around the school and monitor this “activity”.

If found, you will get a reprimand, if found repeating the offence, you get sent to the principal office and if continuing, then eventually escalated to the parents, etc!”

10. Worried about your health.

“Middle School had banned salt and pepper from being used in the cafeteria, claimed it was too unhealthy.

Still sold Mountain Dew in the vending machines .”

11. I don’t think that’s a problem here.

“We couldn’t wear winter clothing (jackets, hats, gloves) in class because they were “gang symbols.”

This was a small farm town in Wisconsin. Besides obviously having no gangs, it was f*cking cold, even indoors, in the winter.

But clearly wearing warm clothing is something only gangs do.”

12. Very erotic.

“Our school banned hugging because it was “erotic.”

As you can imagine, the boys at school started giving each other very sensual high fives for the rest of the year.”

13. Ridiculous.

“No touching the walls.

They restored a building with historic value using, among other things, period appropriate paints. They then opened the planned primary school there and proceeded to try to get children to respect the restoration work.

So we had a few years of benches in the hallways being 10 cm from the wall and children being reprimanded for leaning against the wall before the faculty gave up.”

Do you remember some dumb rules from your school days?

If so, please share them with us in the comments.

Thanks a lot!
