Tumblr Users Proves That Sometimes It’s Impossible to Really Break an Old Habit

Habits are formed after we perform an action often enough that it becomes ingrained in our brain.

Some habits are helpful, especially those that pertain to our work and to our goals.

Other habits are honestly a little annoying, especially if they’re something we do every day because we have to, not because we want to.

People on Tumblr shared the habit that they have yet to break, and the hilarious consequences that result, and the stories are pretty fantastic.

For starters: if you think having a toddler at home is tough, imagine being how being surrounded by them at work impacts your life.

Devils and angels aren’t supposed to get along, right? After all, one represents all that is dark and sinful, and the other represents all that is light and good.

But… we also all know that in the real world, there’s a little bit of dark and light in each of us.

A Girl’s Email to Her Professor About a Late Assignment Is a Whole Mood

There are a lot of people struggling with the concept of time and deadlines and calendars right now. Since March, everything has run together a bit – and that fact really amped up when summer arrived and we no longer had to pretend to go to school/make sure our kids “did school.”

I guess some college kids were still taking summer classes, though, and online to boot – they’re having to figure out how to work their college’s online site, communicate with professors, learn on their own, and probably devise a way to get some kind of privacy while they continue to live at home.

This student, rainbowkarolina on Tumblr, realized after the fact that her assignment – which she had worked hard on and completed – was past due.

She pointed out on Tumblr that she thought we’d all agreed that the concept of time was dead for the moment, and decided to email her professor to relay the message.

I think we can all agree that her note was professional and fun, but also explained well what she and everyone else is going through with, you know *gestures wildly* everything that’s going on.

His response, however, is pure gold.

In the grand tradition of wonderful college professors everywhere, he replied with suggestions on how she could keep track of due dates in the future, but gave her a pass on this one because she’d entertained him with her message, and also because her work did, in fact, bop as promised.

His comment about having to run that term by his daughter was my favorite.

Two Gay Texans Connect Over Their Moms’ Obsessions with Crucifixes

This is not news, but Texas has a lot of Christian people in it. In fact, around 75% of the people in that state identify as such. Texas has a population of around 29 million, so that’s close to 22 million adherents in the friendly state (that’s the slogan they gave themselves, “The Friendly State,” which sounds nice, I guess? If not vaguely threatening?)

Suffice it to say, being a Christian in Texas is like being a deer in the woods. Nobody’s gonna be surprised or confused to see you there. Which is what made this post by Tumblr user indiedrone so funny, and the story that it set off so priceless.
