LEGO Trolled Tesla with a ‘Shatterproof’ Truck

By now, you’ve probably heard about the fiasco that took place when Tesla CEO Elon Musk debuted the company’s new Cybertruck recently and…things didn’t go as planned.

That’s right, the windows on the Tesla Cybertruck shattered, and Musk was left a little red-faced about the whole thing. So, of course, some big company or brand had to come out and mock them in some genius way, right?

Enter LEGO.

“The evolution of the truck is here. Guaranteed shatterproof.”

BOOM! Mic drop. I can’t think of any other company that could’ve done it better, can you?

Let’s compare the two vehicles. The Tesla Cybertruck is big, bulky, weirdly triangular, has windows that apparently shatter, and the base price is just under $40,000.

The LEGO truck is very small…okay, it’s basically a gray block attached to a four-wheel platform and would probably run you about $1.50. But you get the point: cheap and easy to use.

For the record, Elon Musk said that it was his fault the glass on the Tesla Cybertruck shattered and that he should have thrown the steel balls first AND THEN hit the windows with a sledgehammer, not the sledgehammer first like they did at the event.

He tweeted (as he does), “Sledgehammer impact on door cracked base of glass, which is why steel ball didn’t bounce off. Should have done steel ball on window, *then* sledgehammer the door. Next time …”

Let’s see Tesla come back and top this one…

Think You’re Smart Enough to Solve Elon Musk’s Favorite Brain Teaser?

Tech companies are notorious for asking candidates some truly bizarre and deviously tricky questions. Google, for example, loves to ask, “How many people are using Facebook in San Francisco at 2:30pm on a Friday?”

Whatever the question, the purpose behind it is to see how the interviewee processes information and attempts to solve complex problems. The interviewers don’t necessarily care whether or not you end up with the right answer; it’s more about how you get to whatever you get to.

Knowing this, it’s probably not surprising to learn that Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, also has a favorite brain teaser.

He reportedly asks:

“You’re standing on the surface of the Earth. You walk one mile south, one mile west, and one mile north. You end up exactly where you started. Where are you?”

Don’t feel too bad if the answer eludes you. When CNBC took to the streets of New York and asked random passersby the teaser, the majority of people didn’t get it right. Of course, they didn’t also have a job on the line, so they probably weren’t as motivated as Musk’s interviewees.

Here we go.

The North Pole.

That’s the primary answer, but there’s also another, more complicated answer: one mile north of a circle with a one-mile circumference surrounding the South Pole (so, basically, 2 miles north of the South Pole. If that seems confusing, this Business Insider video clarifies:

“You’ll walk one mile south to reach this circle, trace that mile-long circle’s path, and return one mile north to your starting point.”

Now do you get it? Mr. Musk hopes you do.

Twitter Asked Elon Musk to Make a “Dog Mode” for Cars… And He Did Not Disappoint

Here’s something that all dog lovers can surely get behind: Tesla just rolled out a “dog mode” for their vehicles. When activated, it keeps the air conditioning running at a comfortable temperature for your pup and also lets anybody walking by your car know that your furry friend is doing just fine.

The idea actually came about from a person who tweeted at Tesla CEO Elon Musk last year.

Musk and Tesla responded and the results are pretty great.

This is how Tesla instructs owners to use “dog mode.”

“To enable Dog Mode, tap the fan icon at the bottom of the touchscreen when your car is parked. Set Keep Climate On to DOG, make adjustments within temperature limits, then leave knowing your pet will stay comfortable. Dog Mode will stay on after you leave your car. If you your battery reaches less than 20% charge, you will receive a notification on your mobile app.”

Tesla also recently announced its “sentry mode” that essentially protects your vehicle when you’re not around. External cameras on the car monitor its surroundings and if someone even leans against the vehicle “alert mode” is activated that warns a potential thief or vandal via the center screen that cameras are recording their movements.

If a window is broken and someone attempts to steal the vehicle, the alarm goes off, the car’s audio plays at maximum volume, and the owner is alerted through an app.
