This Crocheted Baby Yoda Coffee Cozy Is Wonderful!

The Mandalorian keeps changing our lives in meaningful ways.

We’re obviously talking about Baby Yoda here. And we’re especially talking about all the Baby Yoda inspired merchandise available.

The latest is this adorable crocheted Baby Yoda Coffee Cozy, designed by Jacqueline Hernandez for the Etsy store Elena Monroe Boutique.

He may officially be “The Child,” but to us he will always be Baby Yoda. And with his big ears, button eyes and sweet smile, this Baby Yoda cozy will keep your coffee – as well as your heart – warm and snug.

Plus, the cozy is stretchy enough to fit any size of cup from your favorite coffee shop.

But lest you think you have no other options, this is not the only Baby Yoda inspired cozy available – not by a long shot. Other shops have their own versions, and some will even sell you the pattern so you can make one on your own.

But whether it’s handmade or bought complete with expressive button eyes, you know you need one to keep your hot beverage (or cup of soup) toasty when you sit in the theater to see the latest in the Star Wars saga or snuggle in front of your television for episodes of The Mandalorian.

You do watch it the day it posts, right?

So cute, is he.

This ‘Star Wars’-Themed Airbnb Is Seriously Impressive

One of the best things about Airbnb is that you can rent all kinds of different places. Big houses, small apartments, tiny guest houses – pretty much anything is possible.

And that’s certainly the case with this one-of-a-kind Airbnb rental recently made available in Florida, near Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The home is known as ‘Twelve Parsecs,’ and it is Star Wars-themed.

The house is HUGE. It has 9 bedrooms, 17 beds, 5 bathrooms, so if you reserve this place you can have a big old nerd fest…I mean party.

Let’s take a look at the pics!

This Crochet Project Is Perfect for Baby Yoda Fans

While you wait for the next episode of The Mandalorian to drop, perhaps you’d like your very own Baby Yoda to keep you company? You’re in luck: someone has made a pattern from which you can crochet your very own Baby Yoda small enough to fit into your pocket.

Even if you’re not an avid crocheter, this pattern from Brazilian crochet guru PhilaeArtes is easy enough for beginners. The pattern is in the style of “amigurumi,” a Japanese style of knitting or crocheting small stuffed yarn creatures.

It’s just as adorable as actual Baby Yoda!

To successfully make this Baby Yoda toy, you’ll need to know (or learn) to make a magic circle or magic ring, a single crochet stitch, and how to change to a different yarn color.

PhilaeArtes also has a pattern for an even tinier Baby Yoda keychain, which could totally double as a Christmas ornament during the holidays.

There are a couple of other crochet Baby Yoda patterns on Etsy, too, and they each have their own flair.

If you’re not crafty enough to make either of these patterns come to life, no worries — you can always buy a stuffed Baby Yoda toy that’s ready-made! You’d be in good company, too, as Mattel’s Baby Yoda toy was the best-selling plush toy on Amazon for much of December. The toy is so popular that it sold out, but there’s a new talking version that is still available.

What are you waiting for??

A Creative Fan Edited ‘The Mandalorian’ into a 1980s Sitcom

On top of all its old material, the new steaming network Disney+ has also given us The Mandalorian.

The show stars Pedro Pascal as…the Mandalorian. If you don’t know, that’s a sort of bounty hunter like Boba Fett in the original Star Wars movies. Chronology-wise, the show takes part after the fall of the Empire but before the formation of the First Order.

Pascal’s bounty hunter has somewhat dubious morals, but the show could also be viewed as about an overstretched father trying to make sense of life as he struggles to care for his newly-adopted (green) child.

We’re talking about Baby Yoda, here.

Memes have already made Baby Yoda famous, and so it was only a matter of time until someone reimagined the show as a 1980s sitcom about a father and son.

Fan Gareth Wood did a great job editing footage from the show with the goofy energy of the 1980s sitcoms some of us grew up watching.

Considering that Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released in 1983, the theme song and mood of this edit makes total sense. The video features upbeat music and a simple but bold font. Check it out!

A Guy Got a Tattoo of Baby Yoda Drinking a White Claw

This is where we’re at right now as a society, apparently…

2019 sure has been a strange year, hasn’t it?

Do you think in a few years, this fella is going to regret this tattoo? Time will tell, I guess…

But let’s move on to this uniquely American, uniquely 2019 tattoo. A guy named Brock McLaughlin saw a scene of Baby Yoda drinking his tea in an episode of the new Disney+ show The Mandalorian and at that instant, he knew.

He knew he needed to tattoo Baby Yoda on his body – and he also knew that the little creature needed to be drinking…wait for it…a White Claw.

McLaughlin said, “As someone who works in Marketing I was fascinated by the cult of White Claw and how the [drink] dominated the conversation this summer. Baby Yoda and White Claw together just seemed like the perfect combination.”

Let’s take a look at some of the reactions people had on social media, shall we?

Even the folks at White Claw had to reply.

McLaughlin added, “My friends love it, at least that’s what they tell me to my face. My girlfriend is supportive which is how I know she’s a keeper.” She must be quite a lady…

What do you think of getting these kinds of pop culture tattoos that might look a little dated in say, a year or so? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

And if you have any tattoos in the same vein, for God’s sake, share them with us!

Remember the Story About the Waitress Who Sued Hooters for Giving Her a Toy Yoda Instead of a Toyota?

In our strange world of social media and online news, stories that went “viral” a long time ago reappear out of the blue for some reason. Can we explain it? No, but we roll with it, that’s for sure! And this tale is pretty funny, too.

Let’s turn back the clock to 2001…

A woman named Jodee Berry was working as a waitress at Hooters in Florida (of course) all those years ago when her restaurant held a contest among its workers: whoever got the best beer sales would win a new Toyota…err…make that a “Toy Yoda.” Ouch.

Hooters

Berry worked hard and knocked her beer sales out of the park. When the big day came for her to get her prize, a brand new car or so she thought, she was instead presented with a toy version of Yoda from Star Wars in a box. Berry was PISSED, as I’m sure a lot of us would be.

A new Toy Yoda indeed ?

Posted by David Marshall on Wednesday, July 17, 2019

She was so pissed, in fact, that she not only quit her job at Hooters but she ended up suing the restaurant. The folks at the restaurant claimed the whole thing was just a big April Fools’ joke. A year later, Berry and the company that owns Hooters settled outside of court. Berry’s attorney said that the settlement was enough so that Berry could “pick out whatever type of Toyota she wants.”

I think I would be pretty pissed off too, to tell you the truth. What would you do in this situation? Poor Ms. Berry…

Teach you, I will

In 2017, Saudi Arabia accidentally printed history textbooks that showed Yoda presiding over a committee at the founding of the United Nations.
