I bet you’ve noticed that there’s a graduation for everything now. And every grade. If I remember correctly, I think I had an eighth-grade graduation, and then I graduated from high school (barely).

People Share the Horror Movies That Fully Traumatized Them…Let’s Take a Look

When I was 8-years-old, I stayed home sick from school and was all alone in the house. My older brother had rented a movie the night before, so I decided to spend my sick day watching The Evil Dead

Oh boy.

It totally traumatized me but also gave me a love for horror movies that continues to this day.

People shared what scary flicks traumatized them and left a lasting impression. These responses come to us from the Buzzfeed Community.

Let’s see yours in the comments!

1. Burnt Offerings (1976)

“It’s this movie from the late ’70s that no one’s ever heard of for some reason. It’s basically about a family rents a large estate one summer and a whole lot of weirdness goes down. It will mess you up for life.”

2. Evil Dead (2013)

“This remake was so terrifying that I couldn’t finish watching it the first time. It took me a whole year to gather up the courage to try watching it again.”

3. The Hitcher (1986)

“It’s been way too long since I’ve seen this, but it still terrifies the crap out of me!”

4. Night of the Living Dead (1968)

“My grandmother had 80 acres in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin. I saw this movie when I was 5 or 6 years old and was terrified to sleep in that house at night because it seemed like the perfect setting for those zombies. It still creeps me out.”

5. Tusk (2014)

“I thought it sounded like a funny premise, but it kept me up the whole night and bothered me for weeks. I’ve watched a lot of horror movies. I don’t know what it is about this one, but it absolutely haunted me.”

6. Child’s Play (1988)

“I was nine and Chucky somehow reminded me of my American girl doll. I had to put her away in my closet every night so that she wouldn’t stare at me with her huge eyes and buck teeth trying to plot my death while I slept.”

7. Arachnophobia (1990)

“I watched this when I was a kid and I haven’t had a worry-free shower in 16 years.”

8. The Descent (2006)

“This is the most disturbing, gory, hopeless movie ever made. I legitimately wish I could erase it from my brain.”

9. Phantasm (1979)

“I saw it when I was about eight and — although I had already seen other horror movies because my parents were huge horror fans — this movie was the only one to give me nightmares. To this very day I get apprehensive around undertakers, especially if they are tall and wearing a dark suit.”

10. Hereditary (2018)

“I went and saw a late night showing of this with a friend, knowing absolutely nothing about the film. Then, when the trailers for new movies started playing and they were all scary movie trailers, I knew that we were in for a ride. We were terrified!”

11. The Witch (2013)

“I watched this one night randomly at 3 AM because I couldn’t sleep and I love witch movies. It scared the heck out of me! It reminded me of the movie The Village, but scarier. It seemed so real. I will never watch it again!”

12. I Spit on Your Grave (1978)

“I can deal with a ton of violence and gore, but Lord, the sadism in that movie was off the charts.”

13. The Entity (1982)

“If you haven’t seen it, be thankful. I saw this when I was 10 and it is no less disturbing to me in my 40’s. Most horror movies nowadays don’t bother me, but maybe it’s because this one desensitized me.”

14. Funny Games (1997)

“You can’t make a list about movies that mess you up without mentioning this one. My friend and I watched the original German version. I thought I was going to throw up and made my friends turn it off.”

15. The Strangers (2008)

“This should definitely be on this list. I watched it back when it first came out and — to this day — I won’t answer the door if I’m home alone (unless I’ve ordered food, of course).”

There’s a Classification for How Much Meat You Eat off Your Chicken Wings

To my meat-eating friends out there who love chicken wings: this article is right up your alley. You need this. I NEED THIS.

If you’re a chicken wing enthusiast, you know that there is an art to eating the meat off the bone. Some people become experts at this, kind of deshelling and eating sunflower seeds.

One Twitter user took it upon himself to come up with a classification system for how much meat you can actually manage to eat off the bones of chicken wings. The scale runs from 1 to 5. A 1 looks like only a couple of nibbles were taken off the bone and a 5 looks like a wild animal attacked the wing and devoured it like it was their last meal.

The tweet blew up and all kinds of people weighed in with what they believe are their ratings on this newly-created (and critically important) scale.

For the record, I’m a 4.99 on that scale.

What’s your favorite chicken wing place on the planet? I have to go with The Peanut in Kansas City. Out of this world! And I will add that The Moosehead in Charlotte, North Carolina is pretty damn exceptional, as well.

Tell us your favorites in the comments!

Postal Service Releases New Stamps Benefiting Veterans With PTSD

One thing that our divided nation can all get together to support is helping out our veterans. And even though the task may seem daunting to many of us, one easy way we can all help out is by purchasing these new stamps the United States Postal Service has put out to benefit military veterans suffering from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Sales of the stamps (which cost 65 cents and will cover the cost of a piece of first-class mail) will benefit the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, which oversees the National Center for PTSD.

The photo of the plant sprouting from ground surrounded by dead leaves on the stamp was taken by Mark Laita. The USPS says the image on the stamp is meant to “symbolize the PTSD healing process, growth and hope.”

The USPS explained the motivation behind the stamp:

“With this semipostal stamp, the U.S. Postal Service will raise funds to help treat those impacted by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Tens of millions of Americans will experience PTSD in their lifetimes. Today, the nation is increasingly dedicated to compassionately treating this mental health issue.

Many kinds of trauma can lead people to experience persistent symptoms such as intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and difficulty sleeping. Depression, anxiety, and fear can also occur. Though these symptoms may initially interrupt one’s daily life, for most people they typically dissipate over time. However, if these problems continue for more than a month, PTSD may have developed.”

Go to your local post office to pick up these stamps or you can order them online HERE. Your money will go to a great cause.

A Guy Was Caught Cheating After His Girlfriend Saw a Fitbit Physical Activity Spike at 4 A.M.

Oops!

We live in a very convenient world filled with state-of-the-art technology that is designed to make our lives a hell of a lot easier. But sometimes these tricky little devices can backfire on people, especially if they’re up to no good. And that’s exactly what happened to the boyfriend of NFL correspondent Jane Slater.

Slater took to Twitter to tell a scandalous story about her one-time boyfriend who got her a Fitbit for Christmas one year so they could get in shape together. Slater said, “I loved it. We synched up, motivated each other… didn’t hate it until he was unaccounted for at 4 am and his physical activity levels were spiking on the app, wish the story wasn’t real.”

Slater added, “Spoiler alert: he was not enrolled in an OrangeTheory class at 4 am.”

And her tales of heartbreak didn’t end there. Slater said on Twitter, “I also had a guy get drunk and bring another girl home forgetting I was spending the night there. We were set to go to church the next morning and I stayed in to get sleep. I could write a book.”

Maybe she should write a book, huh?

Other folks online sympathized with Slater and had a sense of humor about her situation.

Because why not laugh?

It is pretty funny after all!

And, on top of that, other people had similar stories…

Yep.

Uh huh.

For REALS!

Have you ever had something like this happen to you?

I really hope you haven’t…but if you have, let’s hear those stories in the comments!

A Woman Messaged Her Tinder Matches With Quotes From ‘The Grinch’

Well, this is entertaining…

Dayna Troisi is a big fan of How The Grinch Stole Christmas and so she decided to do something very clever on Tinder.

Troisi said, “he is all of us. Like, for example, he hates people, and refuses to go out when he can’t find the perfect outfit (don’t you hate when you’re too bloated for your favorite bodysuit?). He is also emotionally stunted but good-hearted at the end of the day. Plus, he has a dog, so he can’t be that bad. So, I wondered: What would happen if I messaged my Tinder matches with quotes from The Grinch?”

Let’s see how it went, shall we?

Watch This ‘Saturday Night Live’ Skit About the Hell That Is Dressing Your Kids During Winter

Do you have young kiddos? If so, you know what an absolute treat it can be getting them dressed during the cold winter months! Lots of screaming, crying, fighting, and tantrum-throwing to liven up your long days!

And if you don’t have kids, you remember these days from your childhood, don’t you? I sure do. It was a constant battle between my mom and myself, no one willing to give an inch and back down. Good times!

Well, Saturday Night Live recently nailed this phenomenon in a hilarious fake Macy’s commercial about the trials and tribulations of trying to dress little kids during the winter.

The commercial starts off typically enough as a Christmas ad with happy families having a grand time.

…But then the whole thing starts to go downhill pretty quickly. The kids start to complain about various issues with their clothes. “It’s too hot!” “It itches!”

And the narrator tells us that “Tis the season for wrestling your wiggly little monster into thick winter clothes.”

Of course, there are winter clothes that won’t fit over any kid’s head.

And there are corduroys that will…well, you’ll see…

A Guys Asked If He Was Wrong for Fat-Shaming His Teen Daughter on Her Birthday

I think I know my answer to this question that someone asked on Reddit, but I’ll let you make up your own mind.

A father took to Reddit’s “Am I the Asshole” page to ask about how he treated his teenage daughter about her weight. Read the man’s words and then decide how you feel about this situation.

sight

Here is the full post from Reddit:

“This happened a few months ago. I just learned about this subreddit and thought this would be a good place to ask about a point of contention in the family.

My daughter is overweight. Not anything too drastic, but she is around 5’4 and 155 pounds. So she could stand to lose a few pounds. I’ve been concerned about her weight for a long time. None of it has been helped by my also-overweight, enabling wife.

On her 19th birthday, in August, we went on a hike in the state forest. She complained about it literally the entire time. She didn’t like that it was hot, she didn’t like the incline, she didn’t like the mosquitoes. I still encouraged her and pushed on, I think she was satisfied with having exercised at the end of it.

Hiking

But, while we were driving back home, she knew that we would be driving past a Dunkin Donuts. She wanted me to stop so she could get herself a “birthday donut.” I said no. She was upset about it, saying she just wanted a donut and she’d just done this long hike to please me on her birthday. I argued calmly that she didn’t want to undo all the work of the hike by getting a donut. She said the one she wanted is 350 calories (which I doubt is true) and would fit into her day. I pointed out she’d probably be eating cake later. We didn’t stop and she sulked about it on the whole ride back. When we got home, she told her mother, who of course sided with her and went on a rant about how our daughter’s birthday shouldn’t be a time I’m preaching healthy eating.

Donuts

I am trying to protect her health at every turn, when she spends most of her free time with her mother. Am I really the asshole for not wanting to stop and get her a fatty donut after a nice hike?”

People weighed in on the situation and it was pretty clear that basically NO ONE was on this guy’s side.

“You’ve got to be fuckin kidding my man. On her birthday, you forced your daughter into an activity I suspect you knew she would not enjoy, and then denied her a 75 cent treat. Beyond that, you didn’t even pretend you took the hike for time together, or– God forbid– her enjoyment; you made it clear that your focus for this event was getting her to exercise. You’re a huge asshole.”

Angry Man

“This is completely the wrong way to go about helping someone lose weight.. One hike is not going to make a difference in the larger picture of health, but this memory is going to be burned into her brain. Health and weightloss is an ongoing lifestyle change and one doughnut has ZERO impact on her weight.

As someone who spent their teens slightly overweight, it was my relationship WITH food that was the problem, I was an emotional over eater, no matter how much I wanted to slim down. My parents withholding something like a doughnut only drove me to eat in secret and form unhealthy habits. such as binge eating. For teenage girls, their relationship with their body easily becomes a societal reflection of their self worth.

You say she “sulked” in the car home, she was probably filled with lots of shame and self hatred that she was fighting with her dad who clearly views her as fat. If you really want to help your daughter, which you seem to care about, you need to change your tactics.

Depriving her of one doughnut is not the solution, working on life long healthy patterns is. For me, I dropped weight in university when I found an activity I liked to do with friends and learning to cook my own food, so that when I wanted a something tasty, I could make something myself rather than grabbing and downing a bag of chips. You’re not wrong to want your daughter to be healthy, but weightloss is as much about mental health as physical.”

What do you think about this situation? Does the dad have a point or is he WAY off base?

And if you really want to get crazy, you can even book Villa de la Vina, the mansion that’s used in The Bachelor. The sprawling mansion is located in Malibu, California.

If for some reason you can’t afford to dish out the big bucks for Harrison to actually be at your wedding, you can always have him give you a video shout-out, if you are so inclined.

If you could pick a celebrity to officiate your wedding, who would it be?
