Movie Theaters Are Giving Us the Giggles With Their Hilarious Lockdown Signs

Would you go see a movie anytime soon? It seems so strange that just a couple of months ago, it wouldn’t be weird to go see a flick with a friend in a crowded theater and load up on snacks. But now…well…

In the meantime, though, movie theaters are using their marquee signs to help make folks laugh and I think they’re doing a pretty damn good job. Here are some good signs that we think will bring a smile to your face.

Weird Signs That Will Make You Do a Double Take

When I first moved to a city, one of the unexpected challenges was reading the parking signs. It wasn’t that they were too small, or dirty, or that my vision was bad, they were just inscrutably complicated and at first glance seemed designed to ensure that I’d always be parked illegally. These days I’m a pro at deciphering those bad boys, but I still come across weird signs and symbols all over the place.

This collection features some great examples of the kinds of things that would make you do a double or triple-take as you’re making your way through the world.

Here are Some Church Signs With A Sense Of Humor

For many churches, the best way to add new members is with an old-school marquee sign. You just put up a welcoming message, add a brief Bible quote, maybe tell everyone when the pancake prayer breakfast is, and bingo. Just sit back and watch the new members roll in.

This Church in Is Going Viral for Its Clever Signs

I love a good church sign, and I’ve noticed that churches in all different parts of the country are getting in on the action.

I think that’s a trend we can all get behind, don’t you?

Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church in Wantagh, New York, is gettin’ it done in the sign game in a major way. Some of their messages are funny and some are designed to make people think.

Pastor Ron Garner said, “Our church is located on a very busy street in Wantagh. I want to convey to the public that Christianity doesn’t have to be staid. I also want to convey to passersby that I believe people who follow Jesus are not called to be apolitical but are called to take social justice issues seriously. We are a small congregation but we have new members who came because of our signs.”
