This Man’s Dog Passed Away and He Asked Chewy for a Refund. He Received an Oil Painting as a Tribute.

Losing a pet is an incredibly difficult and heart-wrenching process.

Dogs are called “Man’s Best Friend” because their undying loyalty to us human beings enriches our lives in so many ways. The hashtag #wedontdeservedogs exists for a reason.

A man named Joseph Inabnet recently reached out to the pet product company Chewy for a refund on some unopened dog food after his beloved dog Bailey passed away and he got an incredible response that he did not see coming.

Posted by Joseph Inabnet on Sunday, May 5, 2019

On May 1, Inabnet shared this post on Facebook.

“If anyone has ever dealt with Chewy.com, they probably know just how wonderful their customer service is. But today, it went to the next level. I had to put my Bailey down in October. She had been on prescription dog food, and I had a brand new unopened bag (about $70).

I asked Chewy if I could return it. They told me to donate it instead, and they returned my money. GREAT customer service; right? IT GETS BETTER!! Today, completely out of the blue, I received from Chewy.com the card and painting below. I have also provided picture of Bailey that I must have uploaded to Chewy at some time.

This is a real oil painting, and the artist, Sharon LaVoie Lamb, did an amazing job. I don’t know how to make something go viral, but Chewy.com deserves recognition for their outstanding attention to detail and customer service.”

First, here is the note that Chewy sent to Inabnet.

This Service Dog’s Mischief Has the Internet in Stitches

This is Arwen, a Husky/Kelpie mix and according to one of her adoptive family members, is, wait for it, “a little asshole.”

In reality, Arwen is a trained autism service dog and highly intelligent. Where was she trained, you ask? Why, in prison, of course, as part of an inmate rehab/service dog program. Certainly, time in the cooler can teach a dog a lot about life.

So, now that she’s adopted, Arwen seems to get herself into all sorts of shenanigans. In fact, Tumblr user gallusrostromegalus decided to share with the world all the trouble Arwen causes.

Which is a lot.

At first, Arwen’s new family calls her shenanigans a “learning curve.”

Prison AC?

Why did it have to be snakes?

Another prickly situation.

Arwen sometime starts fights with her cousin over who gets the recliner.

Shenanigan bonus time!

Arwen could be part monkey.

Arwen can’t help herself. She’s got a mind for shenanigans.

Whatever the background to her mischief making, Arwen’s tails – make that tales – has got the internet crazy for this funny dog and her adventures. She may not always be a good dog, but she’s certainly an entertaining one.

“Grumpy Cat” May Be Gone, But The Internet Has Found a Worthy Successor

A few weeks ago, the internet was saddened to learn that “Grumpy Cat” (real name Tardar Sauce) passed away. I think we can all agree that she’ll be greatly missed.

Some days are grumpier than others…

A post shared by Grumpy Cat (@realgrumpycat) on

We all know Grumpy Cat can never really be replaced, but this guy sure is gonna do his darndest. A 6-year-old Persian cat from Austin, Texas, named Louis is being called “the New Grumpy Cat,” and I think you’ll see why.

Let’s give him a shot, okay?!?! Here are 15 pics of Louis in all his glory.

A worthy successor, I believe. I think you will, too.

2. I will allow the occasional pet

Man Discovers a Bear Has Been Bribing His Dog with Deer Bones to Gain Access to the Trash Can

Personally, I’d be scared s***less if I found a bear was hanging out near my dog/house. Twitter user Jesse Jordan is clearly a better man than I am, as he was mad about this situation for an entirely different reason.

Jordan, who lives in a remote part of Canada, was shocked to find that his dog, Brick, has been accepting deer bones as a gift from a smart bear who is, in turn, granted access to Jordan’s trash. And you know how much bears loooooooove trash.

As you can see, Brick was bribed with some pretty big bones, so you can sympathize with his situation. I mean, how could he possibly turn those bad boys down?!?!

Jordan had to face the hard truth that Brick is just not cut out for this kind of work.

Indeed, this is an impeachable offense. And although Jordan was pretty miffed by this offense, he had to admit that Brick is a damn good boy.

People on Twitter loved the story and shared their thoughts about Jordan and his sidekick, Brick.

And Jordan had one final thought for all the Tweeters out there.

Oh Brick, you really did it this time…

But we shouldn’t be too hard on him, right? I mean, find me a furry doggo that would ever turn down a heaping helping of deer bones.

Go ahead…I’ll wait.

That’s right, the answer is, they would all do the same exact that good ol’ Brick did in this situation.

You Can Now Buy Matching BFF Necklaces For You and Your Dog

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

Ok, so I’ve only been a puppy parent for a few months now, but still, I need this in my life.

You’ve no doubt seen those necklaces that two human BFFs wear so they can always be thinking of their partner in crime. Well, now you can do the same thing with your dog! Because let’s be real, human friends are fine and everything, but our dogs are our real best friends, no doubt about it.

You can get these matching necklaces/dog collars from an Etsy vendor named SlashpileDesigns.

The human (that means you) gets an 18″ chain with a silver dog bone attached, and your doggo gets a cool collar pendant with the bone silhouette. Together forever, right?!?!

You can also get a heart design as well.

If you want to engrave your new set of jewelry, it’ll cost you an extra $25.

I think both you and Fido will be very happy with this purchase.

New Beer for Dogs Lets You Get Wasted with Your Furry Best Friend

Do you love dogs? Do you also love beer? Well then listen up!

Good Boy Dog Beer is here and it’s brewed specifically for your dogs, so you don’t have to slip them a sip of your Old Style anymore when they won’t stop begging.

Good Boy Dog Beer (obviously non-alcoholic, sorry Fido) was created by a Texas couple named Megan and Steve Long so they could drink with their pooch, Rocky. They’ve turned their hobby into a business, and they now distribute their product throughout East Texas. The Longs skip the fermentation stage of the brewing process, though, because hops and alcohol are poisonous to dogs.

The Long’s line of dog beers has some pretty great names, including Mailman Malt Licker, Session Squirrel, and Crotch Sniffin’ Ale.

Megan Long explained the reason behind their special dog beer. She said Good Boy is for their “love for our own puppies and all the animals out there. Our oldest Rottweiler, Rocky, is very sensitive to foods and allergies so we started creating him his own treats and managing his diet better. It helped his allergy outbreaks significantly and we just seemed to progress from there eventually starting our own line of beer for dogs.”

You read that right, Good Boy Dog Beer might also help settle your dog’s stomach in addition to quenching their thirst. Cheers!

If you want to learn more, check out Good Boy’s Frequently Asked Questions page HERE.

Also, please drink responsibly – duh.

This Hawaiian Cat Sanctuary is Home to Over 600 Kitties

If you’re a cat lover, then boy have I got a vacation destination for you! This place is absolutely teeming with kitties, and it also happens to be on the island paradise of Hawaii!

On the Hawaiian island of Lanai, the Lanai Cat Sanctuary is home to more than 600 stray kitties.

And yes, you can visit the sanctuary, play with all the cats, and even adopt some of them if you are so inclined.

The cats live in a fenced-in area about half the size of a football field, complete with all kinds of enclosures and holes to play in, on, and around.

Executive Director Keoni Vaughn says, “The average person who’s not a crazy cat person thinks, ‘Oh my God, [the sanctuary] has got to be gross and stink’—but it’s the absolute opposite. The two compliments we get the most are: A) It doesn’t smell, and B) It doesn’t feel like 600 cats.”

The sanctuary is currently being expanded and the goal is to have room for 1,200 cats at some point.

The sanctuary receives about 12,000 visitors each year. Lanai has a large feral cat problem, which is why the sanctuary was established.

Vaughn said about 40% of the sanctuary’s cats become socialized due to visitors, despite coming to the facility as feral animals.

If you can’t make it all the way to Hawaii, you can still make a donation and sponsor a kitty at the sanctuary and you’ll receive monthly updates and photos.

I’m currently looking into plane tickets to Hawaii…
