Hershey’s and Yuengling Teamed up to Create a Chocolate Beer
When two amazing things are combined, it’s cause for celebration, right?
Damn right!
What Old Style is to Chicago and Lone Star is to Texas, that’s what Yuengling is to Pennsylvania. Good, cheap beer enjoyed by regular folks who don’t want to spend a fortune on booze.
So it makes perfect sense that two of the most well-known businesses in the Keystone State, Yuengling and Hershey’s, teamed up to create the Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter.
Jennifer Yuengling, Vice President of Operations at the company, said:
“As the sixth generation of the Yuengling family, we have a 190-year history of listening to our fans and looking for new ways to deliver quality and memorable drinking experiences. We saw a unique opportunity to partner with Hershey’s, a brand known worldwide for its iconic, delicious tasting chocolate, to deliver fans our first-ever beer collaboration. We spent nearly a year developing our Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter and are excited for the world to indulge in the classic taste of Yuengling Dark Brewed Porter blended with the unmistakable taste of Hershey’s chocolate.”
You’ll be able to find the beer on draft in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, West Virginia, New York, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, and Washington, DC.
You can also use the “Find Our Beer” tool on Yuengling’s website to find out where you can track down this special beer.
The brew is a limited-release product that is supposed to run from Halloween through Valentine’s Day, so you probably don’t want to sleep on this, folks.

Hundreds of People Are Reporting Bigfoot Sightings in Pennsylvania
If you live on the East Coast of the U.S., here’s some great news! Pennsylvania now ranks as the third best place to see Bigfoot, according to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, which exists.
The BRFO reports that they have 23,000 Bigfoot sightings on file, and 1340 of them came from Pennsylvania. Accordingly, the state is becoming an increasingly popular place for enthusiasts to go “Bigfoot hunting.” There’s even a local group for it: Pennsylvania Bigfoot Investigations.
Per the Travel Channel’s blog post on the topic:
“One of Pennsylvania’s most interesting cases involves a mountain biker who, while taking a rest, thought he was watching the back-end of a bear as it rummaged through a downed-tree. The biker’s curiosity turned to shock when the animal stood up. What he thought was a bear was actually a giant 7-foot bipedal creature covered in black hair.”
For what it’s worth, Governor Tom Wolf openly welcomes Bigfoot and all his fans to Penn’s Woods, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. He encourages everyone to “explore one of our beautiful towns or parks, and see what you find.”
The BRFO’s report includes the number of sightings in every county in Pennsylvania, so you can narrow down your search.
Washington is the most popular state for Bigfoot sightings with 2032 total, followed by California with 1697 sightings. Bigfoot is often associated with the Pacific Northwest, so that’s no surprise — but if you are a Bigfoot believer then you probably knew that already.
Below Pennsylvania, there are five other states that made the BRFO’s list: Michigan (1131 sightings), Ohio (1024 sightings), Oregon (1009 sightings), and Texas (806 sightings).
So maybe you’re feeling intrigued and up for a little jaunt…

A Man Offered ‘Free Dad Hugs’ at a Pride Parade and People Loved It
Scott “Howie” Dittman decided to attend the recent Pride Parade in Pittsburgh but didn’t give much thought beyond having a good time that day.
Dittman’s friend Denna was going to the parade with an organization called Free Mom Hugs and Dittman said, “‘well I’m going to go,’ and I hopped on Amazon and grabbed a ‘free dad hugs’ T-shirt. I just thought it would put a smile on people’s faces.”

It’s no surprise that many LGBTQ people are ostracized by their families because of their lifestyle. And, as Dittman realized, a hug goes a long way for people whose parents are no longer in their lives through no fault of their own.
He said, “You could tell they hadn’t had something as simple as a hug from their dad in a long time. That broke my heart.”
Dittman hugged a lot of people at the Pride Parade, and he shared this post on Facebook detailing two of his more moving encounters that day.

Dittman’s post went viral and he said he’s received more than 1,500 messages from strangers who were incredibly moved by the story, including some parents. He said, “I’ve had so many parents reach out to me saying they’ve been crying for days, saying they’ve been those parents, and they’ve reached out to their children they haven’t talked to in years. How do even describe that?” he said. “How do you even describe the feeling that gives you?”
"Hugging well over 700 people, there were many who held on and didn't want to let go. And I wasn't going to be the first one to stop the hug." https://t.co/Qx6VB9zZUF

Dittman added, “It’s humbling, but it’s sad. It’s sad that these people needed a stupid social media post to have eyes opened and to feel welcomed. It’s sad that some guy in some small town western Pennsylvania is having that much of an impact when that impact should’ve been made and when they shouldn’t have even needed it because they weren’t abandoned in the first place.”
