Kids Who Are Already Smarter Than Their Parents

It would be a lot easier if we, as moms and dads, could reliably remain smarter than our kids for at least a decade or two, wouldn’t it? In some ways we are, of course, because experience is the very best teacher, but there’s no denying that those little rugrats can get the best of us when we’re not paying enough attention.

And on these days, at least, these 10 kids had their parents’ numbers – and it’s unclear whether or not they won the argument or got grounded for it.

Could go either way, really.

10. I guess that means it’s half hers.

But only if you agree.

9. Her ancestors are speaking.

I am here for this message, too.

8. He claimed every single slice.

That’s how you get pizza for breakfast, my friends.

7. She knows her competitive mother.

But not that mom will always make you another grilled cheese, anyway.

6. There’s nothing to do but clap.

And go do your own thing, because he’s good.

5. I certainly hope not.

That would be one tragic film.

4. This is technically correct.

You’ve gotta give it to her…this time.

3. Like we’re dinosaurs.

I suppose to them we kind of are.

2. The other option is we all go pantsless like the dog.

I’m here for it.

1. Hey, free bowl!

I’ve done this with ramekins but this is next level.

These are just hilarious, and comedy is one of the best side effects of becoming a parent.

These Kids Are Just Too Way Smart for Their Parents

Every parent has that inevitable moment when you realize that your kid is smarter than you – at least about some things. Or at the very least, they’re way smarter (and have picked up on way more stuff) than you realized before then.

Lucky for the rest of us, even if that moment is rough for you, it’s hilarious to onlookers – and so, my friends, here are 11 parents who are about to get a rude awakening from their smart-mouthed kids.

11. It could just as easily have been Mommy.

Everyone needs some time alone, you know?

10. Kid has a point.

You see what he did there.

9. “It’s too early” is hard to argue with.

My own toddler says “I only do that on Sundays,” so…

8. Sure, you could argue with that.

I think she might win, though.

7. Kudos to dad for catching that one.

Experience has its perks.

6. This child is ready for anything.

He’s got whatever the world tries to throw at him.

5. Because she is definitely not moving.

Or maybe she thinks his screen is too loud.

4. This is especially rough when you know she gets it from you.

I’m assuming, anyway.

3. If it sparks joy, let them have it.

That’s my philosophy, anyway.

2. Get the girl her chocolate milk.

Sister earned it.

1. That’s what you get for teaching her about time zones.

I’m happy my kids can’t tell time yet, to be honest.

I love it. I mean, my kids are still toddlers, so I know I haven’t been there, but…I love it.

Tell us the moment you realized your own kid was pretty dang sharp down in the comments!

Parents Who Are Definitely Not Smarter Than Their Kids

It’s a sad day when you realize you are never going to win every single argument with your kids again.

They understand logic, they 100% know how to turn your own words and actions against you, and they will never be afraid to challenge you on pretty much anything.

You had a good run while it lasted, though.

So, let’s raise a glass to these 10 parents, who just realized they are no longer smarter than their kids (at least not about everything).

10. They’ve already taken everything else.

Might as well hand over the candy, too.

9. Free the feet!

I could get behind this, at least in the summer.

8. Why are toddlers?

They are so sweet and so hell-on-wheels at the same time.

7. Competition is how you motivate this family.

She knows how to play the game.

6. She’s prepared him for life.

Time to sink or swim, kid.

5. I don’t think you’d want to see that movie.

It’s a tragedy, for sure.

4. You have to be more specific with your instructions.

That’s in the manual.

3. If only they feared us the way they did a T-rex.

Maybe we need to eat one of them.

2. The poor dog.

I think the kid meant for it to go the opposite way.

1. It can definitely be both.

I’m just saying.

I am sort of looking forward to this day as a parent and sort of not.

If it has passed for you, tell us the story of how your kid’s brains got the better of you the first time!
