It would be a lot easier if we, as moms and dads, could reliably remain smarter than our kids for at least a decade or two, wouldn’t it? In some ways we are, of course, because experience is the very best teacher, but there’s no denying that those little rugrats can get the best of us when we’re not paying enough attention.

And on these days, at least, these 10 kids had their parents’ numbers – and it’s unclear whether or not they won the argument or got grounded for it.

Could go either way, really.

These Kids Are Just Too Way Smart for Their Parents

Every parent has that inevitable moment when you realize that your kid is smarter than you – at least about some things. Or at the very least, they’re way smarter (and have picked up on way more stuff) than you realized before then.

Lucky for the rest of us, even if that moment is rough for you, it’s hilarious to onlookers – and so, my friends, here are 11 parents who are about to get a rude awakening from their smart-mouthed kids.

11. It could just as easily have been Mommy.

Everyone needs some time alone, you know?

10. Kid has a point.

9. “It’s too early” is hard to argue with.

My own toddler says “I only do that on Sundays,” so…

I think she might win, though.

Parents Who Are Definitely Not Smarter Than Their Kids

It’s a sad day when you realize you are never going to win every single argument with your kids again.

They understand logic, they 100% know how to turn your own words and actions against you, and they will never be afraid to challenge you on pretty much anything.

You had a good run while it lasted, though.

So, let’s raise a glass to these 10 parents, who just realized they are no longer smarter than their kids (at least not about everything).

10. They’ve already taken everything else.

Might as well hand over the candy, too.

9. Free the feet!

I could get behind this, at least in the summer.

8. Why are toddlers?

They are so sweet and so hell-on-wheels at the same time.

7. Competition is how you motivate this family.

She knows how to play the game.

6. She’s prepared him for life.

Time to sink or swim, kid.

5. I don’t think you’d want to see that movie.

It’s a tragedy, for sure.

4. You have to be more specific with your instructions.

That’s in the manual.
