Michigan mom Alixandria Smith caught the moment when her 2-year-old son Braxton and their husky, Boston, having a bit of a friendly competition.

“This is what you get when your Toddler realizes he can talk to the Husky,” she writes as a caption.

Braxton starts the howl off, but as the dog – and a husky to boot – I can assure you that Boston is the clear winner in the end.

A Black Mom Is Pregnant for the Fifth Time and She’s Not Here for the Haters

There are families all over TV who are celebrated for having a ton of kids. There are teenagers on cable television having two and three children before they’re old enough to drink. Religions push people into not using birth control with the argument that humans are meant to populate the (overpopulated) earth.

But listen, when black or brown people hit the town with their broods that include more than two or three littles, the judgment is quick and harsh.

They couldn’t possibly afford all of those children. They couldn’t possibly be a nuclear family? They must be a drain on society!

No.

And Leslie Lewis, a black mother of four and curator of the popular Instagram account @TheLewis_Show, just couldn’t keep quiet when people began to make snotty comments on her pregnancy announcement for their latest addition.

Leslie is married to her husband, Joe, and together they have two sons, two daughters, a scruffy dog, and one on. the way. They are ridiculously cute, usually in adorable, matching outfits (even the dog!), and she has a strong following – but the haters were ready to pounce on her post about #5 joining the crew.

On February 3, she posted a picture of the family in matching denim and added this caption to address the rude, unnecessary, and unwanted feedback on her decision to grow her family.

“Tell ’em sis! The Duggars captured 2.3M viewers. Now when brown and black families have large families, folks and their microaggressions assume we are exploiting the system,” said one person.

“This is definitely a ppl of color issue. No one questions white women when they have large families, hell it’s encouraged but ppl are always policing our brown bodies,” agreed another.

When Leslie spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle, she said that one woman’s comment in particular encouraged her to speak up.

“The last straw was when another woman felt the need to send me really hurtful messages assuming I must be on welfare and how I should be on birth control, etc.”

Leslie would like to use her platform and her influence to help normalize the idea that people of color, and working-class families across the board, are allowed to – and always have had – larger families.

“I have learned to use my platform to uplift families and women of color, and to use the criticism as fuel to meet and exceed my personal and family goals! Maybe one day we will get a reality show since there’s no families of color with multiple kids on TV that people can relate to.”

Watch a Nine-Year-Old Win Over His Talent Show With a Recreation of Napoleon Dynamite’s Dance

You’d be hard pressed to find a movie that connects with more people than Napoleon Dynamite. We quoted it, we laughed together, we secretly identified with the strange cast of characters. And Napoleon’s talent show dance? Well, most of us at least tried to learn it step-by-step.

It warms my late GenX/Xennial heart to see a 9-year-old boy nail it to the wall – it’s like knowing that a little bit of our legacies will survive into the next generation.

His name is Jude Gagner, and not only did he get Napoleon’s dance moves down, he also came up with spot-on hair and wardrobe (I’m sure in part thanks to his mother, Katie).

She shared the video of him killing his talent show on Facebook, which is when everyone (rightfully!) lost their minds.

Katie told POPSUGAR that her son loves the movie and learned the dance moves on his own. She and Jude’s dad were as surprised as everyone else when he pulled off the entire routine at school.

“Jude actually learned the dance from watching YouTube videos. He taught it to himself and surprised us when he asked if he could sign up for his school talent show. He showed us before he performed it for his classmates. Jude is a very talented kid and loves making people smile!”

An Adopted Man Repays the Struggling Couple Who Took Him in Tenfold

You never know the difference that a little love can make in a person’s life, and that goes double (or more) for a child who doesn’t have anyone, or anywhere to go.

Even though Filipino couple Nanay and Tatay were poor, their hearts broke when they met little Jayvee Lazaro Badile II – they didn’t have much, but what they had they shared with him.

His childhood was happy, even if they often went without, and through it all, he swore that one day he would find a way to pay them back for their many kindnesses.

Jayvee made a long, struggling climb out of poverty, turning himself into a successful man with the help of his parents, and returned to buy them their dream house.

He wrote a touching tribute to the couple in a Facebook post, explaining that they work menial jobs as a porter and a vendor, and saying in part “now that I have the chance to give back to them, I will make sure they will live their dreams better than what they could ever imagine.”
