10 People Who Got Royally Screwed Thanks to Screenshots

Technology is pretty awesome, but it does mean that just about everything you do is permanent now. Your texts, social media post, all of it. That means you need to be VERY careful with what you take photos of and where you send them.

For instance, take the following people. They are definitely unable to explain these text snafus. Oops!

1. When your parents know more than they should about your sex life

2. Maybe he likes her excitement

3. Screenshot a message and accidentally sending it back

Twitter Mansplainer Proves Men Know Nothing about Periods

As if it wasn’t tough enough out there for the ladies, did you know about the “Period Tax?” It’s not an actual tax (yet, anyway), but rather, a reference to how much the cost of tampons and pads takes out of a woman’s earnings. It’s literally an unavoidable bodily function that half the population has no choice but to pay for!

In news that will surprise no one, a man took to the internet to give his opinion on the price of tampons and pads and why women should “stop complaining.”

This man did some hilariously wrong math to determine that women only spend about £20 per year for tampons.

Anyone with a period immediately smelled the bullsh*t.

First of all, SEVEN tampons per cycle?! Only in a dream world, pal.

Second of all, he flubbed the NUMBER OF MONTHS IN A YEAR.

He almost certainly mixed up the period thing with the pregnancy thing.

Anyway, third of all, he also got the average volume of blood per period wrong.

It’s actually impressive to be this wrong!

Seriously I can’t with this guy.

Even well-meaning men are oblivious about periods and tampons.

The only solution is to teach ’em a lesson.

That will shut this guy up forever.

15 People Reveal the Moment They Realized They’d Been Doing Something Wrong Forever

I apologize to you all in advance for the fact that this article might make you feel kinda dumb. Sure, these are stories shared by other people, but they’re Because even though these stories are from AskReddit users, you know you’ve been there, too.

So don’t even try to deny it.

1. Ohhhhhh….

“My mom use to refer to me as a “bull in a china shop”. Always heard it as “bowl in a china shop”. Thinking it was a compliment. At about 22 I hear someone else use the phrase and realized she meant “bull”, not “bowl”.”

2. That took a while

“Last month was the first time I discovered lint rollers were peelable. Literally sat there for a minute to take that in.

I’m 20.”

3. OH MY GOD

“Since the dawn of time, I would pick up the silverware and utensils out of their tray in the dishwasher and put them away in their drawers then go back and pick up more out of the dishwasher. Then one day I saw my wife lift the tray out of the dishwasher and I legit stood there with my mouth open.”

4. That’s better!

“We bought a nice liquor cabinet. We got it delivered and noticed it was a bit shorter than we thought. No biggie. Three years later, we’re moving. Lift up cabinet and these beautiful, ornate, screw on legs wrapped in tape and bubble wrap fall off the bottom. Looks so much better now!”

5. Driving lessons

“It wasn’t very long, but when I was learning to drive my dad was explaining the rule of thumb regarding a safe distance to be behind the car in front of you. I thought it meant to hold your thumb up and if your thumb didn’t cover the entire car you were too close to it. When he caught me doing that he asked me what I was doing. When I explained he burst out laughing, then considered it, and concluded it wasn’t a bad idea but perhaps a bit distracting.”

6. Grateful/Embarrassed

“Until last week, when my father in law would made a phone call on his very basic non-touch-screen flip phone he would open the menu, scroll to the phone icon, open it, hit the soft key for contacts, scroll to the person he wanted to call, press ok, then press the soft key to call.

When he mentioned how he preferred his landline because he could just dial the number, I said “Humour me. Just dial the number and hit the talk button.” I’ve never seen a man so simultaneously grateful and embarrassed.”

7. Mind was blown

“Couple years ago i was trying to open some toothpaste and had to break the seal of the tube, i used to look for something like a nail to break it, then one day i looked at the pointy end of the cap and thought ‘what if I could use this to break it’ and oh shit it did fit and broke it effortlessly, and so did every other tube product i had in the house and their respective cap, my mind was blown.”

8. Spelling issues

“Not mine, but my dad has been spelling his name wrong his whole life (he’s 51). His name is Jeffrey, and he’s been spelling it like that since he learned how to spell his name. A few months ago my mom pulled out his birth certificate, and we all learned it’s actually spelled Jeffery. Not sure if he spells it correctly now, but it was definitely an “oh shit” moment for him.”

9. Double Tips!

“When i first got a debit card and would go out to eat at restaurants with my friends, i would leave a cash tip on the table. when i got the receipt to put how much i was paying i would write down how much money i left on the table. for at least 6 months i gave double tips to every waitress i had…”

10. But that wasn’t the case…

“My mom has been pronouncing Massachusetts “Massa Two Shits” for years and no one corrected her because they thought she just had strong feelings about Massachusetts.”

11. Use the swivel!

“I owned a car with swivel headlights and it was very nice to have that. Discovered three years in that I had never turned on the swivel feature.”

12. Devastated

“When I was 5 a Pizza Hut employee told me that the powder on the breadsticks was called ‘fairy dust.’ Ordered extra fairy dust on my breadsticks until I was around 14 when an employee said ‘do you mean garlic salt?’ It still devastates me to realize how obtuse I was.”

13. Never noticed that…

“Realized the multi colored tape measures glued to the door frames of gas stations etc. are for identifying robbers, not for measuring yourself as you walk out. I mean, they can be, but that’s not why they are there. Unless you’re the robber.”

14. RYAN

“My name is Ryan.

It took me until I was in 1st grade to realize my name wasn’t in the alphabet.

My mom had told me my name was in the alphabet, and I felt so lucky. She obviously meant the letters to spell my name were in the alphabet.

But nope. It took that long to realize the alphabet didn’t go “W, X, Ryan Z….”

15. Don’t eat that

“Apparently the red ring around the bologna is not supposed to be eaten.”

Internet Roasts Anti-Vaxxer Dad Asking for Advice on Building “Outside Bedroom” for 2-Year-Old,

Oh, anti-vaxxers. There are tons and tons of real, peer-reviewed, scientifically validated evidence showing how much good vaccines do. There is also all the evidence there is no link between vaccines and autism. Despite that, anti-vaxxers will keep insisting that vaccines are the devil, an opinion they’ve based on information gleaned from memes and health blogs.

Naturally, choosing not to vaccinate your child is your right as a parent. But unfortunately diseases couldn’t care less about your personal autonomy, and skipping vaccines is a decision that puts you child and others (such as those too sick/young to be vaccinated) at serious risk of infection. That’s why whenever an anti-vaxxer parent tries to justify their choice online, other parents are pretty quick to roast them.

That’s what happened to this parent, who apparently wanted to create an “outside bedroom” for their unvaccinated child…

Here’s what they wrote:

The weather is getting nicer. My son, Jericho (not vaccinated), never wants to make it in by curfew. I am planning on moving his bedroom outside. I’m not looking for this post to turn into a debate, REBECCA. Just looking for recommendations for outdoor furniture for 2 year old boys room. His favorite color is yellow.

The internet being what it is, it wasn’t long before the roasting began.

Women’s Screenshots Reveal How Different Their Boyfriends Act on Social Media vs. Real Life

Are you always honest and upfront on social media? Or do you project a certain aura and stay “on brand” with your posts? It’s no secret that most of us tend to cultivate an image online that isn’t always 100% reflective of our personalities.

Olivia O’Leary, a social media user and student, decided to show just how much her boyfriend may not be exposing his true self on social media. While he acts one way online, his sweet and cuddly persona appears behind closed apps.

She then proved her point by posting a text from him and a recent post of them hiking. “Broski”? Really?

Mom Posts Warning to Parents After Finding Suicide Content on a Child YouTube Channel

One of the biggest challenges of modern parenting is keeping your kids safe from things they shouldn’t see online. While limiting screen time, setting up filters, and restricting certain channels entirely helps, the fact of the matter is that it’s an uphill battle against the endless amount of content out there. That’s why parents are always on the lookout for any new app or feature that might help them out.

But, as one mom discovered, even those aren’t foolproof. Even on YouTube Kids, which claims to provide a safe and simple place for kids to explore the world through online videos. Meridy Leeper posted about her family’s recent horrifying experience.

Leeper worried if she should post about the video or not, then decided against staying silent.

This is an exceptionally hard thing for me to post. I’ve thought long and hard about this. I’ve decided it’s way too important not to bring awareness to other parents. This is not up for criticism. I only want to let all parents know what to watch for….

She shares her shock at what she found on her daughter’s “safe and simple” video site.

Kids youtube, roblox, fortnight… no matter how much you think you are monitoring your child.. notifications to what your child is watching. It doesn’t matter. My 7 year old child was taught how to attempt suicide by kids youtube and these games. She has expressed that she doesn’t feel neglected or unloved. Instead, she was constantly told to ‘go kill yourself’ by other gamers, by kids youtube. Shown HOW to.

Leeper also shared a drawing of a figure in a dress, with a downturned mouth, at the end of a noose.

Leeper’s daughter drew it the day after she had a severe anxiety attack triggered by a video.

Sunday night, she had a full blown anxiety attack. Which I held her and sang to her while she got through it. Monday, she drew this in school.
This is a VERY real danger! I NEVER thought I would find myself helping my SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD through an anxiety attack.

Parent to parent, Leeper writes a warning that even kid friendly websites can show harmful material.

PLEASE, keep your children away from these things. I’m just so glad my child was able to express her feelings before she actually tried to harm herself. I never thought something as ‘innocent’ as kids youtube would have these subliminal messages. Again, I’m only sharing our experience in the hopes to prevent another child going through this.

After her post was shared several hundred thousand times in less than 10 days, Leeper posted the actual video.

Leeper writes:

Several concerned parents have asked (rightly so) which videos my daughter watched on kids youtube that prompted her suicidal thoughts. There are several in the comments of my original post… but this is the very one that gave her the idea of hanging herself.

As she mentioned in her original post, the video looks like it’s for kids, yet contains images of violence and self-harm.

At 1:56 minutes in there is scene of the girl using a butcher knife aggressively on a cake. At 2:21 minutes in, is the build up to the hanging/suicide scene. This video starts out very cutsie and catchy… then turns very dark. I’m putting this out there so parents can be aware to keep thier kids away from the ‘doki doki’ videos that promote self harm and suicide. Here ya go….

Many commenters said the video in question is hosted on YouTube with a warning page and that parents are responsible for supervising their children’s online activity.

The video starts with a notice. “Warning: This video contains references suicide, self harm, and domestic abuse, if this kind of thing makes you uncomfortable, please don’t watch this video. Viewer discretion is advised.”

But can a child who sees a little cartoon girl with ribbons and hearts in her hair understand this warning? And would it keep her from watching it anyway and being exposed to violence and despair?

It looks so innocent.
