People Seem to Agree on One Thing: No One Wants a Remake of ‘The Princess Bride’

America is united! About this at least…

Cary Elwes, who played Wesley in the iconic movie The Princess Bride, had a response to the idea of its remake. “There’s a shortage of perfect movies in this world. It would be a pity to damage this one.”

Sony Pictures CEO, Tony Vinciquerra, had casually mentioned the idea to Variety for a Norman Lear profile piece. Lear was the executive producer of the famed movie that starred Elwes, along with Robin Wright who starred as Princess Buttercup.

Vinciquerra told Variety, “We have so many people coming to us saying, ‘We want to remake this show or that show.’ Very famous people whose names I won’t use, but they want to redo ‘The Princess Bride.’”

The off-hand comment created a commotion on Twitter. Made in 1987, The Princess Bride began trending as the social network users expressed their dismay. Elwes altered one of his famous lines and tweeted his thoughts that it was already the “perfect movie.”

Actor Jamie Lee Curtis, now married to another of the film’s stars, Christopher Guest, tweeted her indignation.

But the best tweets came from fans and celebrities who used lines from the movie to show their outrage. Clearly, they are prepared to defend The Princess Bride to the death.

People tweeted movie memes.

Simply put, the very idea of The Princess Bride remake is…

Any movie that can make both women and men cry at the end needs to remain untouched. Drop it, Sony Films. In the words of the Ancient Booer, “Boo, boo, boo.”

You Can Now Stay at Downton Abbey Through Airbnb for One Night Only

Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

I have a feeling this place will be booked up for a while…and quick. Highclere Castle, the main filming location for the Downton Abbey TV series and recent feature film, is now available for guests through Airbnb.

This has to be a dream come true for fans of the show. I know how excited I’d be if a room opened up in the Psycho house, so I can feel their excitement.

This actually sounds like a hell of a deal. You get dinner and drinks with Highclere’s Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, and you get waited on by a butler (a personal dream of mine). You also get a tour of the grounds and a stay in a private bedroom.

The gist? It’s for one night only and only for two people.. Guests will be able to stay at Highclere on November 26 only, at least for now. Reservations go on sale on October 1 at 12:00 pm BST (British Summer Time), so, if you’re an American, be sure to set an alarm early that day to book your spot.

The pricing starts at $159, which is actually WAY less than I thought it would be.

Here’s how the Airbnb page describes the visit:

“Lord and Lady Carnarvon will welcome guests into their home on arrival, and after settling them into their bedroom, will ask the guests to join them for cocktails before dinner. Throughout the stay, Lord and Lady Carnarvon will immerse the guests in the rich history and heritage of Highclere Castle with a private tour of the Castle, the Highclere Estate.”

If this is a big hit (which I’m sure it will be), maybe more dates like this will open up and you’ll have other opportunities to live in style…at least for one night.

What do you think? Are you going to try to get in on this action?

IHOP Has an Addams Family Menu Full of Creepy Treats

I love all of this.

I love Halloween. I love pancakes. I love The Addams Family. What else do I need in this life?

Wait, I need this! IHOP launched an entire Addams Family menu on September 16 to go with the new 3-D animated Addams Family movie that hits theaters on October 11.

Alisa Gmelich, IHOP’s vice president of marketing, said, “Halloween, and the months leading up to it, are filled with such unadulterated fun for families, so it made perfect sense for IHOP to get in on the action.” She continued, “The quirkiness of The Addams Family matches our own playfulness as a brand, so a partnership with MGM felt like a great fit.”

Addams family pancakes/hot chocolate @ihop tonight. So good ?

Gmelich added that signature IHOP items like pancakes, milkshakes, and omelettes were given a fun twist: “Our culinary team had a lot of fun playing around with distinctive flavors and eye-catching colors to create a menu that will be delightfully spooky and delicious to families of all ages, including grown-up kids, all month long.”

For you youngsters out there who only know about The Addams Family from the movies from the 1990s, you should probably know that the characters also had their own live-action TV show in the 1960s and the characters were based on artist Charles Addams’ cartoons that ran in The New Yorker between 1938-1988.

Here’s a trailer for the new animated film, by the way.

The limited-time menu runs through November 3, so don’t sleep on this! See you at IHOP!

Starbucks Is Offering an “It Frappuccino” That Looks Spooky and Delicious

Here’s another drink you must try this fall. It: Chapter Two recently hit theaters, and Starbucks has decided to offer a drink inspired by Pennywise, the murderous, terrifying clown from the film.

The frappuccino drink features a “strawberry blood” puree. I know I’m in!

The drink is a limited-edition item, and also it isn’t technically on the Starbucks menu, but if you ask your local barista for the Pennywise frappuccino, they’ll most likely know what you’re talking about. The drink has a vanilla bean frappuccino base with the strawberry puree (aka “blood”)  mixed in. You can also add a vanilla bean scone if you want to get crazy.

A lot of Starbucks locations are not advertising the spooky concoction, but some places are letting the world know that they’re offering the drink.

The drink seems to be a big hit because photos of it are all over social media.

One barista even got really creative with the cup and decided to draw Pennywise over the Starbucks logo.

I got to make a couple #itfrappuccino today at my #starbucks!!! Pictured first is my last attempt with a much better depiction of #Pennywise than my first attempt (pictured last). I loooove drawing him so I had to add him for the full effect!!! **PLEASE DO NOT ORDER THIS AS THE IT FRAPPUCCINO, your barista will likely NOT know what that is. Order a Vanilla bean frappuccino with strawberry purée on top! Oh, and PLEASE TIP YOUR #BARISTAS!!!!! @itmovieofficial @andy_muschietti @barbaramus Thank you for such an amazing movie experience these past few years!!! I’m so happy I can incorporate Pennywise into my everyday life ????? ETA//: If you see this featured anywhere please comment or DM me, I would love to see it!!! I also set up a ko-fi in my profile. If you enjoyed this and would like to see more cup art, art in general, or fun drinks, please consider supporting me there!

A post shared by Allison/Laurel {THEY/THEM} (@tinker_hell) on

The Pennywise frappuccino has actually been around since 2017 when the first It film hit the big screens, but a lot of folks still don’t know it exists.

For the It fans out there, Bill Skarsgård (who plays Pennywise) said there might be a third It film:

“Andy and I have discussed ideas for what a third movie would look like. I don’t think it’s quite what people expect. It’s something different. The first two stories are the book, and the second film is the end of that story. So we would do something quite literally off book. There are a few ideas floating around. I feel like I’ve done what I can with the incarnation of Pennywise as we know of him, so I think it would be a cool idea to change up a few things. So, without going into too much detail, there is a story that we’re kind of excited about, but it’s way too early to say. But we’ll see, we’ll see.”

I can’t wait to try this bloody—I mean strawberry-flavored drink and see a third installment of the series!

13 Pretty Big Mistakes Made by Popular Television Shows

Take a Look at “The Avengers” Performed Perfectly by a High School Dance Squad

This is wonderful!

The PAC Dance Team of Arizona’s Walden Grove High School recently went viral with a perfectly executed The Avengers dance routine. This comes a year after they went viral for a Harry Potter themed dance. In fact, this is their third time their choreography and costumes have taken over the internet – so they’re very legit.

This time, the PAC Dance Team dazzled at their Homecoming assembly with a routine based on Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

The dancers were out of this world. Watch below:

The group performed to hits like Snap Yo Fingers by Lil Jon, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys. They also included dialogue from both films for added drama.

For seven minutes, dancers battled it out, good guys versus bad, for control of the universe, with the Avengers emerging victorious (obviously).

Since its posting last week, the video has amassed over 2.5 million views. And it’s no wonder! These dancers are so talented and creative, and they really know how to please a crowd.

Posted by PAC Dance Team on Tuesday, July 24, 2018

A few years ago, the troupe auditioned for America’s Got Talent with a dance inspired by Wizard of Oz. That performance was their first to go viral – the video got almost 3.8 million views.

Their Harry Potter routine started with a scene showing Harry in his cupboard under the stairs, then ends with his sorting into Gryffindor House. That video got around 12 million views.

THE HERMIONE GRANGER shared our video?! Wow!! Thank you Emma Watson!!

Posted by PAC Dance Team on Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Dancing is one of those universal languages, like music and art. Everyone loves to move and see movement with choreography, fun costumes and exciting themes. Wouldn’t it be great if other groups, whether schools or clubs, challenged each other to come up with more of these over the top productions?

Because we clearly cannot get enough.

A New TV Show Called ‘Murder House Flip’ Is like ‘Fixer Upper’ but for Crime Scenes

True crime fans, this is for you!

For me, this show is very exciting. I’ve been seeking out true crime locations since I was in high school, and if I’m in a new city I always try to visit the sites of infamous crimes.

Messed up? Maybe. But moving on…

A new tv show called Murder House Flip is coming soon, and true crime fans across the land are jumping for joy…as morbid as that sounds. The show will air on the mobile-streaming service Quibi that launches in April and, just like the title says, will focus on makeovers of homes where murders took place.

Like I said, a true crime fan’s dream come true.

The episodes, like all programs on Quibi, will be short, about 10 minutes in length. The show comes from CSI producer Josh Berman, author Katherine Ramsland, and Chris King, producer of Penny Dreadful.

The show will feature a “colorful cast of forensic specialists, spiritual healers and high-end renovation experts,” according to a press release. “[They’ll] uncover the crimes, shocking secrets and scandalous history of the homes.”

Elyse Seder of Sony Pictures Television said, “We are thrilled to bring this one-of-a-kind series to life and dive into a world that combines America’s two biggest TV obsessions: true crime and home renovation.”

I can’t wait to see what locations are chosen. Infamous crimes? Little-known murder mysteries? Whatever it is, Murder House Flip promises to be a welcome addition to the endless wave of true crime shows currently on the airwaves.

I have to say I’m thrilled to see how this show will turn out!

15 People Share What Celebrities They Think Would Be Outed as Serial Killers

First off, I think this would be a great movie. Secondly, who do you think you would pick if you were posed with this question:

“If the headline “Celebrity outed as serial killer” appeared, who would you expect it to be about?

AskReddit users offered up their opinions. I can’t wait to dig into these!

Share your thoughts in the comments!

1. Prime suspect

“It almost pains me to say this because he is one of if not the best actors in the world, but Daniel Day-Lewis. The man protects his privacy extremely well. Doesn’t do a lot of movies (retired now) and stays as clean as possible. He is the prime guy.”

2. No way!

“Bill Murray.

“No one will ever believe you.”

turns to walk away

“You’ll never have the chance to tell them.”

3. Not a good legacy

“I hope that Tom Hanks dies peacefully in his sleep at a grand old age, with an untarnished history and nothing but funny stories about colleagues and strangers he helped and made happy.

And then they go to clear out the basement of his mansion and just find hundreds and hundreds of human heads in various states of decay.”

4. Say it ain’t so

“Carrot Top.”

5. A killer trifecta

“The first names that popped in my head were Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Jim Carrey.”

6. A disturbed dick…

“Andy Dick… the dude is f*cking disturbed. Oh… he’s also a dick.”

7. I hope not. One of my favorite directors…

“David Fincher. Between Se7en, Zodiac, Mindhunter, and the rest of his entire filmography, he really seems fascinated with compelling serial killers, sociopaths, and psychopaths. The performances of these characters are always unique, captivating, and unnerving.

They have an air of authenticity to them. Fincher makes some great films, and I’m not seriously suggesting the dude’s a serial killer, but he’s probably the only famous person I can think of where, upon being revealed as a serial killer, a common first reaction would be, “…Yeah okay, that explains a lot.”

8. Might not be a stretch?

“Quentin Tarantino… just cause.”

9. It’s all in the eyes

“The Olsen twins. They got some menacing eyes.”

10. I think you’re right on the money

“There’s a distinct lack of female celebrities on this list. I definitely think Tilda Swinton could murder us all one day.”

11. Insane if he wants to

“Nic Cage. Have you seen the memes about the Ghost Rider movies having zero CGI and that it was all him? He can be insane if he wants to.”

12. A true villain

“Elon Musk is one face scar away from being a James Bond villain.”

13. Good old Woody

“Woody Allen. Anyone who marries their wife’s adopted young daughter is seriously creepy.”

14. Look at the track record

“Brad Pitt. If a man can leave both Angelina Jolie AND Jennifer Anniston he’s capable of anything.”

15. Can’t put my finger on it…

“Definitely Katy Perry. Something is off about her.”
