Earn $1,000 by Watching 24 Hallmark Christmas Movies in 12 Days

I have a feeling a lot of people are gonna be into this.

For some people, this would be a dream come true. For others…maybe not so much.

Internet service provider CenturyLink is offering to pay one lucky person $1,000 to binge-watch 24 Hallmark Christmas movies in 12 days. What a deal!

The website says:

“‘Tis the Season … to Get Paid to Watch Christmas Movies and it looks like all your Christmas wishes may just come true. We’re looking for a lover of all things Christmas, G-Rated romcoms, and too-close-to-home family dramas to watch 24 Hallmark Christmas movies in 12 days. If you think that’s you, we’ll give you $1,000 to critique a lineup of festive guilty pleasures.”

The site also says:

“You know how to work the Gram, Twitter, or Facebook. We want someone who’s willing to document their Hallmark marathon with their followers.

We want you to have opinions—lots of them! Think the grumpy Grandpa turned jolly Santa was a little overdone? Felt like the plot was a bit half-baked? Be as honest as possible in your review.”

Here’s what you have to do to win: every time you watch one of the films, get on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, include the hashtags #CountdowntoChristmas and #HallmarkDreamJob in every post. Also, you have to watch all 24 films within 12 days by December 25, 2019.

And you have to fill out the application on this website.

If you win, you’ll get that cold, hard $1,000 and a Hallmark binge-watching package that includes a subscription to a streaming service, hot cocoa (you’ll need that), Christmas cookies, a mini Christmas tree, some fairy lights, and all kinds of Hallmark swag.

Get going! Time’s a wasting!

The marketing gods approve of this scenario BIG TIME.

Buy a Tiny Replica of Your House as a Christmas Ornament This Year

Don’t miss out on this!

Christmas ornaments are often sentimental items that get passed down through a family for years. An Etsy shop has the perfect ornament to add to your family’s collection: a tiny replica of your actual house.

The Etsy shop Forever Figurines is run by Samantha Bravoco of Haverhill, Massachusetts. She hand-designs each custom ornament out of polymer clay and acrylic paint. She bases the designs off of customer’s photos of the house.

Some customers choose to get Christmas ornaments that look like their current homes, while others model them after childhood homes or other sentimental places.

Samantha can even add a ribbon with the address of the house and the dates that it was inhabited. For anyone who has to leave behind a beloved family home after many years, this is a great way to hold onto the place in a sentimental way!

Samantha’s Instagram shows that she truly can recreate any type of house, large or small.

These tiny replicas surely take a lot of skill and patience — the current wait time for each order is three months.

“Everything is custom, handmade and hand-painted so they take time and I can only do so many per day,” Samantha told Today.

Samantha started sculpting in 2015 as a hobby.

“I decided to post some work up on Etsy to see if there was any interest from buyers,” she said. “I was featured on WeddingWire in 2016 for my wedding cake figurines and that got the ball rolling quickly.”

She just started making house ornaments last year, but she’s already completed almost 300 so far. She still sculpts cake figurines and pet figurines, too.

One house ornament is $75 and they’re great as year-round gifts in addition to Christmas.

A Dad Shared His 10-Year-Old Daughter’s Lengthy Christmas List and People Think It’s Hilarious

Kids sure are funny, aren’t they? Especially when it comes to their massive wish lists for Christmas…

Which is what the father of a 10-year-old girl recently found out when she presented him with an epic Christmas list that he thankfully shared on social media.

Dad thought the list was so outrageous that he said on Twitter, “My 10 year old daughter must be out of her mind with this Christmas list.” He added, “My soon to be 10-year-old daughter clearly has a false sense of funds that we have with this Christmas list. But kudos to her for her expensive taste.”

On December 16, 1965, NASA received a prank transmission from two astronauts: “We have an object, probably in polar orbit… I see a command Module and and eight smaller modules in front. The pilot of the command module is wearing a red suit.” They then started playing, “Jingle Bells”.

This Funny Looking Christmas Tree Will Keep Your Pets Away from Your Ornaments

Christmas trees add a nice touch to the holiday season — until your cat or dog gets their hands on it. Pets are naturally curious about Christmas trees, and for good reason! What animal could resist a brand new tree in the middle of your living room with a bunch of bright, shiny, dangling objects that very much resemble toys?!

But you don’t have to be cursed to forever pick up ornaments off of the floor, or come home to a tree that is fully knocked over. There’s now a half-sized Christmas tree that’s perfectly designed to keep curious paws away from it. It’s called the Parasol Christmas Tree. It’s six feet tall, but only has branches at the top, so the branches and ornaments are out of most pets’ reach.

The Parasol Christmas Tree is also useful for other purposes. It’s great for families who have young kids who tend to mess with the tree. It’s also helpful for people who don’t want to crowd up a small apartment with a full-sized tree, but still want a tree with some height to it.

Yes, this tree looks… unconventional. But with the addition of a pile of presents underneath, it still manages to retain the traditional Christmas charm of a full-sized tree. Plus, it comes in multiple colors, including a snowy version.

Unfortunately, the Parasol Christmas Tree is only available in the U.K. at the moment. Our friends across the pond definitely aren’t the only ones with naughty pets, though. It’s only a matter of time before a U.S.-based company follows the trend!

In the meantime, you could always make a DIY version or buy a Christmas palm tree instead.

Christmas Beard Lights Are Here. Go Ahead and Embrace It!

Trends come and go throughout the years. What’s hot one minute is considered pretty lame a minute later. It can sure be hard to keep up, am I right?

Well, here’s one trend I hope sticks around for many years because 1). It’s pretty hilarious, and 2). It’s quite festive! A company called Firebox sells Christmas lights for beards, and I have to say, this may be the best idea I’ve seen in quite a while.

Not enough room in your living space for a tree? Make your face fuzz festive instead and bring Christmas with you…

Posted by Firebox on Monday, November 19, 2018

The lights can be nestled comfortably into your bushy beard, and the battery pack is small enough to fit in there and not cause you any issues, so everybody’s a winner here!

Firebox also has some other fun accessories for your beard, such as the Disco Beard Kit, the Snow Beard Kit, and the Christmas Tree Beard Kit.

The reviews don’t lie, either:

“Absolutly [sic] hysterical and was one of the main talking points during Christmas in our house. Lovley [sic] bright LED’s, good functions and apparently the clips were comfortable!”

“Bought as a joke gift for Christmas for my daughters husband who has a very bushy beard. Thought the kids would love it.”

“Brilliant product, bought for my hairy son. Lit up his night shift!”

Also, there are some other companies out there that sell similar products if you want to shop around. One thing fellas: you gotta grow your own beard, so get going on that, okay?

It really is the most wonderful time of the year! Are you gonna get in on this trend?  If you do, you’ll be “lit”. Get it? If you do this, let’s see your photos in the comments!

Good News! You Can Build a ‘Gingerbread’ House out of Oreo Cookies!

It’s a time-honored winter tradition to make holiday-themed houses out of cookies and frosting. Now there’s a brand new type of cookie house that is, frankly, making gingerbread houses look very boring in comparison. The Oreo Holiday Chocolate Cookie House is here, folks, and it comes in a ready-to-use kit.

The Oreo Holiday Chocolate Cookie House kit comes with pre-baked chocolate cookie pieces, pre-made icing, and of course, plenty of miniature Oreo cookies. There are also some fruity gummies and candy jewels to decorate your house to true Christmas-y perfection (I know, it’s October, but the thing was released, and it’s AWESOME, so get over it).

The kit is available for $10 at Big Lots, or you can buy a mini version for $6.

“Get the family together this winter for some afternoon fun!” the item’s description reads. “This kit includes everything you need to build and decorate your very own OREO holiday chocolate cookie house. Just open the box and start building!”

Gingerbread houses are great and all, but man, doesn’t an Oreo house sound amazing? It’s basically a giant house-shaped Oreo. What’s not to love?

Shoppers have also spotted the kits at select CVS stores. Christmas is still many weeks away, so hopefully as the holiday gets sooner, these kits will start popping up at more locations.

Traditional gingerbread houses aren’t always the tastiest, especially once they’ve been sitting out for days. But an Oreo house? Probably won’t remain uneaten for long.

In 2014, Christians in South Korea put up a giant Christmas tree which was visible from the North Korean border. The North Koreans claimed it was a tool for psychological warfare and demanded it be taken down. The defence ministry claimed the tree was dismantled for safety concerns.
