Surprising Stories About Cheating with the Neighbor

Cheating takes a lot of work.

I mean, honestly. There’s all the hiding, the cover-ups, the stories, the staying out of the eye of the ever-present beast that is social media, it’s just a whole thing.

Looking for a way to make it easier? Why not keep things local! Very local. As in, just start hooking up with your next door neighbor. At least you won’t have to go very far to get things going, though if you’re living in attached housing like an apartment you might want to watch how loud you get next to those thin walls.

If it wasn’t clear already, we’re being tongue-in-cheek and not actually advocating for infidelity. But maybe the people who made these posts heard similar pitches, because man did they go for it.

10. “To be with him instead.”

As always, the choice is yours.

9. “My boyfriend of 8 months.”

The Barracuda is a nice little bit of color for the story.

8. “Can’t stop thinking…”

So close and yet so far.

Source: Whisper

7. “I still don’t feel guilty.”

Well, that’s rather telling.

6. “Losing my virginity.”

That’s quite a step there.

5. “He never found out.”

He hasn’t found out yet.*

4. “I feel really bad.”

Hey, I would too.

Source: Whisper

3. “I really regret it.”

It’s a familiar tune.

Source: Whisper

2. “It was soo much better.”

That’s not a great sign of things to come.

1. “I don’t know how to leave.”

That’s a long time to hold that in.

Maybe the convenience doesn’t quite outweigh the rest of it, huh?

People Admit Their True Stories of Cheating with the Neighbor

It sounds like something out of an adult film.

The new neighbor stops by to say hello. Oh, I’m sorry, I’m just in a towel, I wasn’t expecting anyone. “No,” she says, twirling her hair in her finger and closing the door behind her. “The towel is just fine. Why don’t you show me around.”

A bass-heavy theme starts playing. You know the rest.

I don’t know if something like that is how any of these real neighbor-cheating scenarios went, but I’d kind of like to think so.

10. “He’s playing two girls.”

Well, you two clearly need to break up immediately.

Source: Whisper

9. “I don’t know what to do.”

That right there is a no win situation.

Source: Whisper

8. “This complicates things.”

It’s all fun and games until…

Source: Whisper

7. “I don’t love my husband anymore.”

That all sounds perfectly horrible, thanks.

Source: Whisper

6. “She has no idea.”

Doesn’t mean she won’t find out eventually.

Source: Whisper

5. “The father of my child.”

Again, you need to get away from each other.

Source: Whisper

4. “I admitted to it.”

You can run from the people but not the problem.

Source: Whisper

3. “My boyfriend is locked up.”

I’m sure he’ll love that bit of news.

Source: Whisper

2. “I refuse to tell my neighbor.”

Well somebody’s gotta know.

Source: Whisper

1. “Just to get back at him.”

Yeah I coulda told you that wasn’t gonna work.

There’s a whole lotta yikes floating around up there.

Homewreckers Tell Their Side Of The Story

This should be interesting…

When it comes to relationships, marriages, and cheating, the people who break up the marriage or relationship are rarely the ones outside of it – though they usually get more than their fair share of the blame.

Of course, if people were happy in their relationship, they wouldn’t be cheating. If things were fine to begin with, they couldn’t have been tempted away.

Maybe the other person didn’t even know.

If you’ve always been curious about the other side of the story, these 15 homewreckers are willing to tell their truths.

15. It can change your life.

Fell in love with my best friend at 17. He was in a multi-year long relationship with an amazing woman, but I didn’t really know her. He told me everything I wanted to hear and was the first man I’d met to express that kind of interest in me. I was young, dumb, and insecure.

So I fell for it (and all the bullshit he spewed about the reasons his girlfriend wouldn’t be mad, he was protecting her mental health by staying with her even though they were totally done, she was unstable, etc.) and we were in a full-blown romantic and sexual affair for a few months. He ended up kind of ghosting me after that, gaslighting me about the seriousness of our relationship, and continuing to date his girlfriend until she left him for another guy (good riddance lol).

I struggled with trust and self-loathing for a long time after that. Ended up dedicating my life to researching and treating infidelity/relational challenges. I now work as a couples therapist and am very passionate about what I do!

I want to someday publish research on the psychological rationalization and aftermath that extra-dyadic partners (homewreckers) experience.

For how common it is, there is virtually no research about that third person, what gets them to participate, and the impact.

I am also in a loving relationship with a great guy.

14. Too bad for him.

Found out while in labor my child’s father had another woman pregnant and was marrying her. I actually waited 5 months to tell her anything.

She didn’t believe me until i sent her a copy of the DNA test. She ended up thanking me. We talk now and hope to raise the kids knowing each other.

He’s not too happy.

13. He stole her boyfriend!

I messed around with a girl a handful of times until I found out her boyfriend was in Iraq. She’d left her laptop up when she was in the shower.

I’m kinda a POS and decided to snoop around for nudes, found her email and the emails from her boyfriend. Talking about marriage after he gets back.

I copied down his email address and then wrote him later. Told him everything. Boy was he pissed.

He dumped her. Him and I are going to a Football game in November.

12. Just learn from your mistakes.

Had an affair with a married man. Yes, I knew he was married. Yes, I knew his wife. Yes, I thought she didn’t understand him and we were true love.

Yes, he ended up cheating on me with a married woman who ended up leaving her 2nd husband for my ex. They are still together.

It was the worst thing I ever did and I hope when I die his ex-wife joyfully dances on my grave; I deserve it.

11. That’s an unexpected turn.

I hooked up with an older woman once and her husband walked in on us. I immediately left while they were crying and screaming at each other. Found out a couple weeks later that the husband killed himself because of it.

To this day I have supreme guilt and slight trust issues. But the person I’m with now makes it better, I love her to the moon and back.

10. Don’t crap where you eat and all of that.

I hooked up with a roommate/landlady, dumb move off the bat I know, because she told me they were in an open relationship. I confirmed with her bf that they were in an open relationship but neither of them told me that roommates were kinda off the table. I went ahead with it because it was the first time a woman showed was into me without me trying. It was a great confidence boost and I hadn’t had many before.

We got together a few times before I found out the bf wasn’t cool with it, broke it off because I felt lied to, but the damage was done. The entire vibe of the house changed, it was a pretty big house with multiple rooms being rented out. At the start we had house meals sometimes and game nights, just a general friendly vibe. Afterwards we all kinda isolated and I apologized to the guy, I didn’t know exactly what was going on and I felt terrible about it.

In the end the great place I had found with awesome people just fell apart and its probably the biggest regret of my life, everyone moved out and I hope the couple were able to work things out without me being there as a reminder.

9. They’re never getting a divorce.

Ughhh….here it goes. Slept with a married man for years. He lied and told me they were divorcing as soon as the kids got out of high school and they were only together for the kids.

She ended up showing up at my work and confronted me….of course I told the truth and holy shit did my life suck after that. I fell for the lies hook, line and sinker. Turns out he was a sex addict. Had been with many, many women and I guess I was the only one dumb enough to tell her the truth. I was know as the “home wrecker” and 20 years later it still gets thrown in my face.

Funny how the one that had vows with her and children got zero punishment, yet I got bashed and shunned for falling for his BS. I was only a teenager (19) then. It literally destroyed my life and self-esteem. He was a professional manipulator that took advantage of a young naive girl and wrecked her young world. God, I hate that man.

8. Yeah that’s on her.

I haven’t dated a woman for over a year and a half now. Can’t trust.

Found out she had a fiancee and she made a huge host of false accusations, I had text messages from her, emails, hours long incoming calls from her, etc etc…. all proving that no i wasn’t what she was making me out to be.

All because she wanted to salvage her relationship with her fiancee… whom I had no idea existed.

7. They’ll always do it to you, too.

I was so in to a coworker in college, and we started hanging out after work smoking and cruising even though we both knew he had a gf. It was platonic, until it wasn’t.

He eventually left his girl but by then I had realized if he would do that to his long term Gf why wouldn’t he do it to me at some point? Even a year later when we reconnected after both dating other people, I still couldn’t get over that thought.

Never did officially date him, which is too bad because I did really like him.

6. More people like this, please.

I’ve been with a guy once who only told me he had a girlfriend after we hooked up.

I hate people who cheat so I told him to tell his girlfriend or I’d do it. He did it himself luckily.

5. S^x ruins friendships.

Had a regular thing with a girl over the course of a summer. We got along well in and out of the bedroom, but we were both on the same page about it being just a casual fling.

One night in the midst of getting it on, she told me she had started dating another girl a couple weeks ago. That was the last time we met up. It made me wonder if she had been dating someone else too and just lied about it.

I know I was complicit in it, but I felt like I couldn’t trust her anymore and it was hard to be friends after that. We stopped talking soon after.

4. Sounds like she dodged a bullet.

Lived with a guy for several years that was sort of the home wrecker. Basically he was shagging a married chick that had 2 kids. She would hang out at our place a lot. Eventually roomie caught the feels for her and gave her an ultimatum: to leave her husband and be with him.

Well as you can all guess she did not. So he called her husband and told him about the affair. In the end her and her husband are still together and my roomie got lost in drugs culminating with me discovering him cooking meth in his room. He later got arrested and spent a few years in TDOC custody.

I no longer speak to either.

3. That could have been dangerous.

I “rescued” a girl from a “horrible” boyfriend. I was 21, just moved to the big Apple, and single as hell. To me it was his fault, looking back at how it all went down I realized, he might have sucked but he didn’t do anything to harm her and she was to chicken to call it off, so I was the exit plan.

I learned not to mess with anyone’s personal life like that and if someone truly wants to be with you, they would do things the right way.

2. You always know.

Met a girl and were basically just friendly acquaintances for a while; as I knew she was dating someone. She was friends with someone from work and would come to after work get togethers (we worked at a bar so it was usually early morning breakfasts).

There was definitely some chemistry but never pursued. Absolutely stunning, but also 10/10 crazy as I found out.

Heard through that mutual friend relationship had ended and asked her out, and we started seeing each other. Four months later she’s essentially living with me since I started working out of town Mon-Fri and my place was nicer with no roommates. So I’d get back on Friday and go for dinner, drinks, concerts , events, almost every night I was in town. It seemed amazing.

Around Christmas she has a friend visiting from out of town and I take them out for dinner and drinks. After a few her friend is getting super handsy, trying to sit on my lap, etc… My ‘girlfriend’ isn’t saying anything but obviously getting annoyed; and finally when her friend straight out grabs my junk she finally says ‘enough’.

Her friend responded with; ‘what, you already have a boyfriend; why can’t I play with <me> too; at least I’m single’. Confusion leads to clarity. Take ‘girlfriend’ aside and she confesses that her boyfriend didn’t break up with her, just moved out of town for school and would be back in the spring and they committed to ‘waiting for each other’. But then she and I started seeing each other and she figured she could just have some fun on the side. Meanwhile by this point it had been around 5 months, I’ve paid her tuition for the next semester, she’s basically living in my condo and we had previously had conversations about me getting a house and her actually moving in.

So I tell her I won’t make a scene or anything, but I’d be dropping them off at her place after the bar and she wouldn’t see me again. She starts crying, I feel like an asshole despite everything. I go to drop her off and she says she’ll do anything if I don’t dump her. I told her to tell her boyfriend about us and end it, and maybe we can talk. Which she actually did end that relationship, and despite my better judgement (thinking with my nether regions) we stayed together. I’m embarrassed to say I was completely head over heels at this point.

About four months later it’s summertime, and she sends me a Facebook message while I’m out of town working saying she’s gotten a last minute job offer to work the summer out of town. It’s midweek and I say that I’ll be back Friday and I can go with her and help her get set up over the weekend, and take a few days off the next week. She says she’s already taken the job and leaving that night. I’m obviously put off by this, mention that we’ve had trust issues and this is extremely sudden. She explains it’s in her field and just a summer contact and she can stay with her grandparents in that city, whom I had met previously.

So, about two weeks in I had heard from her once. I realize that I didn’t really trust her, and probably never could. I ended it, when she got back after the summer she tried to get things started again, but in under a month she was living with another dude that she now has four kids with; so I think it was fairly transparent.

Given how much I cared about her and the original betrayal I couldn’t really trust women I was dating after that. The next two relationships I had did not go anywhere due to my own insecurities. Which was super f**ked up since I had been very self confident before that. I was trophy pretty (did bodybuilding shows) was fairly well off (6 figure income) and thought of myself as a fairly decent person.

If my wife hadn’t been super detached when we started dating I probably would have not invested much effort into this relationship as well. It was that she didn’t seem overly interested that kept the relationship going and allowed me to work through some of that.

1. Time to move on.

I fell in love with a guy who had been dating his girlfriend for 4 years. When I met him for the first time at the fast food place where we worked, something inside me clicked into place. “This one,” it said. I shrugged off the feeling and ignored him for 3 months. Then we started hanging out when a mutual friend demanded both of us spend time with her. That’s when I fell for him.

He was kind, generous, thoughtful, patient, soft-spoken… and in a long-term long-distance relationship! SHE went to a different college 3 hours away and couldn’t make time for him, apparently. He had a lot of time to spare and asked me to spend it w him. I tried to convince myself to not see him, to not text him, not spend time with him alone, but it didn’t work. I missed him too much. And he seemed to miss me too?? What???

We spent the school semester and the summer hanging out, being “just friends,” and being the cutest couple that never was a couple. We spent hours talking, he introduced me to all his friends and family, and any time he wasn’t with HER, he was with me.

He broke up w her out of the blue one Sunday that summer. I kissed him on Wednesday. And he got back together with her on Friday, with an “I’m sorry” to soothe me… In the end, I can only blame myself. He had never said he “like” liked me. He never tried to make things sexual between us. He hadn’t promised me anything except that our friendship would never end. In the end, I hurt myself and he lived his life.

The result? I got super dramatic and swore I wouldn’t love anyone else. Now I’m afraid that’s probably true because in the 7 years that have passed since then, it’s hard for me to even have a crush on someone. I’m trying to recover from my self-sabotage but honestly idk if I can do it.

It’s definitely interesting to think about, right?

People Share Stories About When They Caught Their Significant Others Cheating

Getting cheated on is one of life’s ultimate betrayals.

If that sounds dramatic, it’s because that’s what goes down when this sort of thing happens: it’s full of drama, crying, fighting, etc. DRAMA.

And it’s also very hurtful to the person who is the one that gets left in the dark.

People were asked to open up about how they caught their partners cheating and how it made them feel…

Here are some tales of heartbreak from people on AskReddit.

1. The nanny…and some weed.

“My ex husband and his family smoked a lot of pot, still do.

His sister, kids, and nanny were visiting from out of state for a few weeks. When it was time to fly home they left their stash at my ex MILs house because they didn’t want to take it on the plane. My ex asked if I would pick it up because I was nearby. Stupidly I agree.

I don’t smoke and I was willing to carry it in my car for him. To my surprise I found a note from the nanny to my ex saying she was in love with him and she was so happy for the time they had together. Obviously she thought he would get the weed instead of me.

While it was incredibly painful at the time I am definitely living my best life 15 years later.”

2. She confessed.

“My best friend was friends with my gf and her roommates. Word got to my friend about her bringing some dude home after a party and my friend eventually spilled to me.

She said “I really don’t want to tell you this and I know this will crush you, but I can’t keep this from you.” After she dropped the bomb I was like “Hell no! That would never happen!” and then I confronted by gf about it that night who broke down and confessed everything.

I stayed with that girl for another 7 months and God bless my friend for sticking by my side and supporting the whole way. When I finally ended things, my best friend was still there to support me and care for me.

Also haven’t dated anyone for longer than 6 months since that happened 7 years ago…”

3. A broken heart.

“I walked in the door to her coworker on the couch, obviously uncomfortable and clothes messy and her locked in the bathroom.

I wanted to pummel him then and there, but he was a trained MMA fighter, and I would’ve left the house that night with more than a broken heart. I just left.

They started dating the next day.

Sucks. It took a while for me to get trust back in relationships.”

4. I’m not dumb.

“Wife was acting unusual for a few weeks.

She would want to spend time by herself on the weekends and when she came home at night from work she would often sit in the driveway for 20 minutes on the phone.

I’m not dumb.

I bought a voice activated digital recorder and stuck it in her car. I knew what I needed to know in less than 24 hours.”

5. Round and round it goes.

“She confessed to her mom… Then mother in law called her other daughter and told her…

Sister in law then called me and told me, she let me listen in on a three way call to her mom and tried to convince mom to tell me but she refused which basically confirmed it.”

6. The last to know.

“June 1, 2018. Normal day. A Friday.

My husband had kissed me goodbye and gone to work. I was cleaning the house for company who was coming to stay the weekend. The doorbell rang. There was a man at my door who introduced himself as the husband of a woman who my husband worked with.

He was there to tell me that my husband and his wife were having an affair. He had busted them about six months prior and had told his wife that she had to end the affair. He thinks that she did end it…for about three months, but then they started up again.

When he found out they were at it again, he called my husband (because he knew if he confronted him in person, he’d be in a jail cell for what he’d have done).

On the phone, he told my husband to leave his wife alone or else he would come and tell me everything that was happening. Apparently, my husband thought that he was bluffing.

So I was literally the last to know. My husband never came home again. He got an air b’n’b and a lawyer. The divorce was December 21, 2018.

We had been together for 24 years. Still hurts.”

7. Where could he be?

“I owned a house with my fiancé.

I woke up in the middle of the night and he wasn’t in bed. I went searching. His truck and another vehicle were in the driveway. Then, I went upstairs and found the guest bedroom was locked. After barging my way in… I found him with another woman in bed.

That bed happened to be my childhood bed. He forced me out of the room… literally grabbed me by the neck and pushed me out and closed the door back. I knew I couldn’t do anything at that point, so I called his parents who lived a few blocks away.

His dad showed up and another fight broke out. I ended up leaving and staying at his parents until dawn. I moved out that weekend and let the house foreclose. 9 years later.. it’s finally off my credit report.

I’m happily married to an amazing man and we own a beautiful home together.”

8. What a creep.

“The husband of one of the women he was cheating on me with called me at work.

At first I didn’t believe him and hung up. How could the man i spent the past 8 years with, had 2 beautiful babies with, suffered together the loss of one of those children do something so hurtful?? Still a part of me had doubt. He had affairs in other relationships and we had a rocky patch early in the beginning where I suspected an affair but didn’t have proof.

I told my boss I felt sick and had to leave early and I called this guy back and found out that my ex and his wife along with one of their friends were all sleeping together for about a year. He had confronted my ex and told him that he was going to tell me but my ex convinced him to wait a month since my mother had just died.

I took my time coming home and confronted him and told him to pack and leave. Since I’ve pieced together a lot of what happened and all the lies he told me where if I was in a different headspace I might have caught on to the affairs earlier.

I also found videos hidden on one of our computers and found out he was having booty calls in our apartment while I was at work and he was watching our daughter.

At that point it put the headstone on any possibility of reconciliation.”

9. Unhealthy.

“Very unhealthy relationship. He was emotionally very abusive and I was in a terrible place with my mental health.

I found out at the ultrasound to determine the gender of our child. He was late and I was noodling on Facebook waiting to be called.

He was tagged in some photos in my news feed from a gig he’d been at on the previous weekend. Random lass was in all the photos of him and they were all over each other. Also they were making out in the background of one photo.

He turned up after I was called in. While the technician was printing the images I told him I knew. He went off and on about how I was making it up, he’d never do that, obviously I was lying to compensate for cheating on him and so on. When I pointed out there were photos he stormed out and left me there.

My Dad had turned up during the appointment (anticipating that he’d react badly if we were having a girl, which he did, that was scattered through the cheating denials) and took me home.

I considered us broken up at that point and stopped all contact except texts related to the pregnancy.

Mostly I was relieved. I had concrete evidence that it wasn’t in my head and I finally managed to escape that relationship.”

10. Business trip.

“He went to Hawaii for a business trip without his wife and kids. Like a good wife, I packed his clothes before he left and unpacked his dirty laundry when he returned home.

I found a tiny pair of white cotton panties (no lace) in his suitcase. He had recently dropped a lot of weight (>100 lbs) and played it off that he had bought them for himself …. they had no label and were simple bikinis so theoretically could have been men’s as well.

It did sort of explain the pretty brunette that followed him off the plane at the airport and kept looking at my kids and I at the luggage carousel (what an *ss to make his side piece come face to face with his wife and kids).

I made sure he wore those panties at least once a week for the remaining few months we were together (I set out his clothes everyday and he couldn’t protest).”

11. A sad story.

“I was married.

Out of the blue while at work I get an email that says (husbands name) ‘s wife.

When I open the email it lists off a name and says (husbands name) married to her. Check on Facebook

(English was not the first language, this was overseas)

So I do and what do I see? Tons and tons and tons and tons of pictures of a woman with my husband. The woman and her kids with my husband. The woman and her family with my husband.

I was stunned to say the least. It was October 6th 2017, 7 months after I almost died from an ectopic pregnancy. Yep we were trying at that point to have kids.

After work I went home and started throwing all of his stuff in the dumpster. He was out of town at the time so I had plenty of time to do it. Spent all of Saturday and Sunday throwing EVERYTHING he owned in the dumpster.

A month later I moved to a new apartment and waited until then to tell him I was divorcing him.

He then killed himself a few months later.”

12. An eye-opening experience.

“I was 8 months pregnant with our second child at the time and he wanted to go visit his brother for the weekend. I asked my doctor if it was safe for me to travel and she said it would be fine.

I told my husband I could go but he said he was really hoping to just have some time with his brother, I understood because a new baby really makes it hard to spend quality time but I asked if he could take our older son (3yo at the time) so he could see his grandma and cousins.

He said they were planning on drinking and whatnot and wasn’t sure it would be a good idea. (They’re country boys so think shooting, drinking and whatnot) I agreed and he left for the weekend. After he left I get a call from his best friend telling me that he’ll be in town for the weekend and he wanted to meet up, not weird he called me because my husband was terrible at answering his phone.

I told him unfortunately my husband was visiting back home, bad timing. His best friend then said ok, I’m going to call you back. And hung up very abruptly. Turns out my husband and his wife had been caught by him a few months previously and he gave them a chance to make it right…I don’t know why.

He didn’t tell me but threatened to if they didn’t stop. Well, they didn’t stop and he told me. I think the worst part was that my husband’s family knew and never once thought to tell me. These people were my family for 5 years and nothing.

It’s been almost 10 years now and I’m so much happier but it was definitely an eye opening experience.”

13. A strange look on her face…

“My ex was a big drinker and I wasn’t.

She would frequent this bar close to our place pretty often with friends. I rarely went because I just wasn’t a fan of bars or her drinking friends. One night she went out with a couple that I didn’t mind that much. I was bored at home so I decided to head over for a little bit.

As I walk in I see my ex sitting at the bar with the couple. The bar was packed and as soon as I made eye contact my ex she had this strange look on her face. She turns to this guy sitting next to her, and he immediately gets up and leaves.

I felt something strange right away, but I brushed it off as me being irrational. I stayed for like an hour and headed home. I couldn’t shake the feeling I had though so I checked one of her friend’s Facebook page to see if there was any connection that existed between my ex and this random dude. Sure enough he was friends with one of my ex’s friends.

I knew his name now and that I wasn’t as crazy as I thought. I sat on the information though. The next weekend she goes out drinking again and still had not returned home at 4 am.

I tried contacting her multiple times and I got no response. I woke up to her coming home at 7 am and jumping in the shower immediately. I decided to check her phone while she was in the shower, and she kept all of the messages with this same guy. Some pretty telling information in the text thread.

While she was still showering I grabbed a fresh pair of clothes and headed to my best friends house. 20 minutes later I get a phone call with her going ape sh*t about me leaving and not saying anything. I laughed at the projection, told her that if she wasn’t moved out by Monday the police would be there to force her out.

She wasn’t on the lease and her parents lived 10 minutes away from me. That was that.”

A Sneaky Professor Caught Cheaters by Setting up a Fake Answer Key Online

Teachers have to deal with cheaters. No matter how hard teachers try, kids are gonna find a way around the rules. And I imagine that the advent of the internet has only made students more creative and harder to catch.

But don’t worry, because cheaters aren’t going to get away with it (always). Professors and teachers are getting more creative, too, and are making sure nobody gets an undeserved grade on their watch.

A Reddit user, Mwxh, shared this story about how his old engineering professor set a trap for – and caught – a good number of his students cheating on an exam.

Not my revenge, but my professor against cheaters from ProRevenge

First of all, I had no idea there were websites out there now where people could ask and get answers to homework questions. I’m sure many use it responsibly, like the original poster, but man. What a bunch of malarky (and get off my lawn!).

Second, for everyone sympathizing with the kids who are shamed…no. They cheated. They deserve what’s coming to them. Full stop.

Third, never assume that because a person is old, they don’t understand technology. Especially if that person is an engineering professor.

Cheaters never prosper, my friends!

A Guy Was Caught Cheating After His Girlfriend Saw a Fitbit Physical Activity Spike at 4 A.M.

Oops!

We live in a very convenient world filled with state-of-the-art technology that is designed to make our lives a hell of a lot easier. But sometimes these tricky little devices can backfire on people, especially if they’re up to no good. And that’s exactly what happened to the boyfriend of NFL correspondent Jane Slater.

Slater took to Twitter to tell a scandalous story about her one-time boyfriend who got her a Fitbit for Christmas one year so they could get in shape together. Slater said, “I loved it. We synched up, motivated each other… didn’t hate it until he was unaccounted for at 4 am and his physical activity levels were spiking on the app, wish the story wasn’t real.”

Slater added, “Spoiler alert: he was not enrolled in an OrangeTheory class at 4 am.”

And her tales of heartbreak didn’t end there. Slater said on Twitter, “I also had a guy get drunk and bring another girl home forgetting I was spending the night there. We were set to go to church the next morning and I stayed in to get sleep. I could write a book.”

Maybe she should write a book, huh?

Other folks online sympathized with Slater and had a sense of humor about her situation.

Because why not laugh?

It is pretty funny after all!

And, on top of that, other people had similar stories…

Yep.

Uh huh.

For REALS!

Have you ever had something like this happen to you?

I really hope you haven’t…but if you have, let’s hear those stories in the comments!
