A Wife Asked If Being Angry at Her Husband for Eating All Their Daughter’s Birthday Candy Was Wrong

What you’re about to read from Reddit’s “Am I the *sshole?” page might make you a little bit upset.

Or, you might not think it was a huge deal and that this wife overreacted in a big way.

That’s the beauty of the stories that people post on that forum! Let’s take a look.

AITA for blowing up at my husband at my husband for eating my daughter’s bday candy?

“My husband and I have a 12 year old daughter and an 8 year old son.

My husband is the “no” parent. For as long as I can remember he will say no in stores or sports games to the kid’s requests for snacks or toys, even if they offer to pay with their own cash.I don’t undermine my husband when we are together but when I have the kids alone, I do tend to say yes (within reason of course, and not to every single thing)

Two days ago was my daughter’s birthday. It’s her second birthday that we’ve been in lockdown and I bought her 2 boxes of her favorite candy, along with her gifts. My daughter ate some of the Swedish fish out of the first box and decided to save the rest on her dresser where her brother is too short to reach and assumed us the parents wouldn’t take any.

Well was I wrong. I awoke to my daughter crying that her dad had eaten her second box of Swedish fish and some out of the first box and only left her with a few. I checked the trash in our bedroom and confirmed my husband had eaten them.I was FURIOUS. I screamed at him that he is a grown man who can go to the store and buy whatever the f*ck he wants without anyone to tell him no.

While he always says no to our kids and the rare time she gets to eat her favorite candy, his *ss has to eat it.He said we were both making a big deal over candy. I told him it was more than just candy, that he obviously doesn’t like seeing the kids happy, and he’s a thief.

I took my kids with to my sister’s house to cool down, and bought my daughter more Swedish fish to make up for the ones that my husband stole. We’re still at my sister’s house a day later. Until my husband can truly apologize to his child, the thought of him disgusts me.

AITA?”

Hmmmm. Let’s see how people reacted on Reddit.

This person made a good point: this marriage seems incredibly dysfunctional and this woman seems like she’s at the end of her rope with her husband.

Another reader said that even though it seems like it on the surface, this story really isn’t about candy: it’s about the whole marriage.

Another individual talked about how her own father stole food from her all the time when they were growing up, so they can relate.

This person called the situation what it probably is: THE LAST STRAW.

And finally, this person said that some parents really don’t even treat their kids with respect…and this sounds like a classic case of that.

What do you think?

Was this woman wrong or totally justified in her actions?

Candy Corn Is the Worst Halloween Candy, According to a Survey

It’s an issue that American society.

No, I’m not talking about impeachment, or your favorite football team. I’m talking about…candy corn.

I’m kind of indifferent about the whole thing, but I will say that, as a kid, I was always less than thrilled when I got candy corn while trick or treating (which I stopped doing when I turned 24). Gimme the good stuff, please! I need Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Butterfingers, and Dum Dums.

According to a recent survey by CandyStore.com, candy corn is the worst Halloween candy. They weren’t messing around, either. They conducted this survey like scientists in a lab. First, they looked at candy rankings from websites like Business Insider, Huffington Post, Bon Appetit, and Buzzfeed.

CandyStore.com then surveyed 40,000 of their own customers who buy candy from their website. They then combined all the information, crunched the numbers, and came up with definitive lists of the top 10 best and top 10 worst Halloween candies.

Here are the top 10 worst Halloween candies, according to the survey.

10. Bit-O-Honey

9. Good & Plenty

8. Licorice

7. Smarties

6. Tootsie Rolls

5. Necco Wafers

4. Wax Coke Bottles

3. Peanut Butter Kisses

New @Reeses Cups are arriving in stores in mid-April, but NYC was given a chance to get their hands on the Peanut Butter Lover and Chocolate Lover Cups early! Visit the Reese’s Swap Shop on 321 Canal Street to swap something in exchange for a new Reese’s Cup of your choosing. 😍🗓 (March 25th – 26th from 12pm – 6pm only). If y👁u’re reading this, it’s too late…for today. But definitely go tomorrow while you still can! • 🍫🧡 Chocolate Lovers – Although it doesn’t look tremendously different in the picture, the Chocolate Lovers Cup definitely does contain discernibly less peanut butter than the original Reese’s Cups. In fact, it was refreshing to eat a Reese’s Cup with a bit less peanut butter. Although this isn’t our preference, this may certainly sit well with those that don’t enjoy Reese’s Cups because there’s “too much” peanut butter for their liking. • 🥜🧡 Peanut Butter Lovers – This cup is a game changer and it went away too fast. It doesn’t help that Matthew and I had to share it. 😂 There’s a hint of chocolate surrounding the cup, but the creamy peanut butter is the star of the show. The peanut butter in the center of the cup is the Reese’s peanut butter we are used to, but the peanut butter at the top of the cup has got a Hershey’s Gold vibe to it; but made of peanut butter. We absolutely can’t wait for these to release! Kitkat Will Start Using Paper Packaging That You Can Turn into Origami

We produce WAY too much waste and garbage, and that’s why this is some very welcome news.

Lately, we’ve been seeing a wave of huge companies try to ditch plastic in one way or another, and now KitKat is getting in on the action as well. Nestlé owns the iconic candy brand, and it recently started distributing KitKat Mini bars in Japan packaged in paper instead of plastic.

The best part? The new paper packaging comes with instructions on how to make an origami crane, which is a traditional Japanese symbol of thoughts and wishes.

Nestlé announced in January that it wants to have all of its products packaged in fully recyclable material by 2025. To give you an idea of how massive Nestlé’s empire is, the company’s beverage products alone made more than $20 billion last year. That’s a lot of drinks, no?

Japan is the biggest market in the world for KitKats (4 million are sold each day) and the company expects to cut down on about 380 tons of plastic each year with this groundbreaking decision.

Nestlé in Japan plans to debut paper packaging for the regular-sized KitKat multi-packs in September 2020, and for regular-sized individual KitKats in 2021. If that’s not progress, then I don’t know what is, friends.

Nice work, Nestlé. Let’s hope a whole lot of other huge corporations follow your lead sooner than later. Now all we need to do is think of some good instructions we could put in products for Americans…

Any ideas? Share them in the comments below!
