Every Hotel and Airbnb is Not Created Equal. Here’s the Proof.

You can look at as many pictures as you want on different websites, but the fact is that you never really know what kind of hotel or Airbnb you’re booking until you step foot into the place.

And, as you already know, sometimes the photos just don’t tell the whole story…or maybe they’re not even from the same place that you just booked!

You’re always rolling the dice when you reserve a place to stay, it’s just a fact…and here are some photos from people who ended up in some strange places.

You Can Rent Out This Entire Island in Italy for About $100 Per Person Each Night

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own island? How about a private island getaway for you and your close friends or family?

It’s not for sale, but if you’re looking to get away with a group of close friends, you can rent out the entire Island of Falconera in Venice Lagoon for about $100 PER PERSON.

Look at this place!

Anna, the Airbnb host, currently rents the island out for $112 a night for one or two people, but the island can accommodate up to 16 guests total.

If you can find 15 friends to bring along, the total cost of $774 per night divided by 16 comes out to just under $50 a night per person.

This private island is located next to Cavallino-Treporti, and can only be reached via an eight minute boat ride from Cavallino-Treporti Church, says hostess Anna.

The lodging provided is described as a “typical Venetian Farmhouse” complete with 6 private rooms (9 beds total), a shared kitchen and three shared bathrooms. There is also a spacious dining room and loft.

Although there is no Wifi to be found, guests have run of the entire island. Pictures posted on the Aibnb indicate there are ponies and dogs for guests to interact with, as well as plenty of island to explore.

Guest Xander says in his review of the island,

“The lodging itself was neat; historic in feel, right down to the squeaky floorboards…Their dogs were a lot of fun, and we enjoyed their homemade honey that they shared for breakfast…All things considered, if you can find a convenient way to travel there, if they’re not having a hot water issue, and if you either don’t mind bugs or just shut all the doors and windows, the day time was picturesque and like straight out a book.”

While it might have some rough edges, it’s still an island, and it’s still yours for the night!

One thing’s for sure, no matter what, you’ll have a truly unique experience and memory to share in the future.

This ‘Star Wars’-Themed Airbnb Is Seriously Impressive

One of the best things about Airbnb is that you can rent all kinds of different places. Big houses, small apartments, tiny guest houses – pretty much anything is possible.

And that’s certainly the case with this one-of-a-kind Airbnb rental recently made available in Florida, near Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The home is known as ‘Twelve Parsecs,’ and it is Star Wars-themed.

The house is HUGE. It has 9 bedrooms, 17 beds, 5 bathrooms, so if you reserve this place you can have a big old nerd fest…I mean party.

Let’s take a look at the pics!

You Can Now Stay at Downton Abbey Through Airbnb for One Night Only

Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

I have a feeling this place will be booked up for a while…and quick. Highclere Castle, the main filming location for the Downton Abbey TV series and recent feature film, is now available for guests through Airbnb.

This has to be a dream come true for fans of the show. I know how excited I’d be if a room opened up in the Psycho house, so I can feel their excitement.

This actually sounds like a hell of a deal. You get dinner and drinks with Highclere’s Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, and you get waited on by a butler (a personal dream of mine). You also get a tour of the grounds and a stay in a private bedroom.

The gist? It’s for one night only and only for two people.. Guests will be able to stay at Highclere on November 26 only, at least for now. Reservations go on sale on October 1 at 12:00 pm BST (British Summer Time), so, if you’re an American, be sure to set an alarm early that day to book your spot.

The pricing starts at $159, which is actually WAY less than I thought it would be.

Here’s how the Airbnb page describes the visit:

“Lord and Lady Carnarvon will welcome guests into their home on arrival, and after settling them into their bedroom, will ask the guests to join them for cocktails before dinner. Throughout the stay, Lord and Lady Carnarvon will immerse the guests in the rich history and heritage of Highclere Castle with a private tour of the Castle, the Highclere Estate.”

If this is a big hit (which I’m sure it will be), maybe more dates like this will open up and you’ll have other opportunities to live in style…at least for one night.

What do you think? Are you going to try to get in on this action?

Idaho’s Airbnb Listings Now Feature a Giant Potato, Which You Can Rent for $200

Airbnb has revolutionized the hospitality industry, but there’s a new location you can rent out that is revolutionizing Airbnb. It’s a potato, located in Idaho (because, of course).

From the outside, it looks like the potato couldn’t possibly be habitable — again, it is A POTATO — but in fact, it features a queen-sized bed and a fireplace.

It’s called the Big Idaho Potato Hotel.

Upon further reading about the Airbnb, it quickly becomes clear that the potato is fake, which is a real bummer but also a relief. The tuber weighs six tons, and it’s 28 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 11.5 feet tall.  It’s made of steel, plaster, and concrete.

The outside looks appealing, in the sense that potatoes are delicious, but also very unappealing, in the sense that you’d never think to spend the night in one.

But inside, there’s air-conditioning, a kitchenette, and a small bathroom.

Posted by Famous Idaho Potatoes on Monday, April 22, 2019

The giant potato was originally created to promote potatoes across the country. After six years of traveling the country on the bed of a truck, it now has a much trendier purpose: millennials pay over $200 a night on Airbnb to sleep inside of it and take Instagram photos.

The Big Idaho Potato Hotel sits in a giant field in Boise, Idaho, with views of the Owyhee Mountains.

It has zero reviews on Airbnb due to being brand new, so… Who’s going to book this place first?!
