Rollercoasters in the United States That Will Scare You Silly

If you’re a daredevil with a bucket list that includes riding all of the most terrifying rollercoasters on U.S. soil, read on, because we’ve got you covered!!

Alright, let’s check out these 11 machines of mayhem!

This wooden rollercoaster lives at Funtown Splashtown USA in Saco, Maine, and is both the tallest and longest rollercoaster in New England.

It’s not the biggest one in the world, but it’s got great views.

10. Superman: Ride of Steel

Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro offers this “hypercoaster” that’s 205-feet tall and has a 200-foot drop.

6. Canyon Blaster

View this post on Instagram

I got to finish the night last evening at my 3rd indoor amusement park Adventuredome! Attached to the “Circus Circus” hotel sits a 5 acre glass enclosed dome containing 25 rides,2 of which being outstanding rollercoasters in “El Loco” and “Canyon Blaster”. I’m really hesitant to call this the best indoor amusement park I’ve visited but i will say it blows MOA out of the water. They have a surprisingly fantastic top 2,Canyon Blaster easily jumped into my Top 3 arrow loopers. With how compact the layout is and how quickly each element is taken it feels so intense and out of control. I found myself greying out EVERY time by the 2nd vertical loop and the lighting effects mixed with the enclosed rock work really make the ride. El loco was just as good as its sister coaster “Steel Hawg” at Indiana Beach. The first drop is LOADED with ejector and both the dive loop and barrel roll provide INCREDIBLE Hangtime. I wasn’t expecting much from this park but it blew me away! Have you visited Adventuredome? If not what’s one park you went into with low expectations that ended up blowing you away? #adventuredome #canyonblaster #elloco #arrowdynamics #sandssansei #mallofamerica #americandream #indianabeach #steelhawg #lasvegas #nevada #circuscircuslasvegas #circuscircushotel #coasterenthusiasts #coastersofinstagram #ridewithace

Las Vegas (of course) is home to this indoor coaster with double-loops and douple-corkscrews.

It careens through Adventuredome at the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino.

5. Untamed

Canobie Lake Park in Salem offers zero gravity rolls, banked turns, vertical drops, and loops on Untamed, and is worth the trip, for sure.

4. El Toro

Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson houses El Toro, voted the scariest and most fear-inducing coaster in the state among several awesome choices.

3. The Hurricane

Western Playland, in Sunland, added The Hurricane in 2015.

The ride is a steel windstorm-style coaster that doesn’t go really fast, but excels in g-force.

2. Cyclone

This iconic Coney Island ride isn’t the tallest or fastest, but it does feel like you’re going to die at any minute.

And how do you top that?

1. Intimidator

A Stepdad Wanted to Know If He Was Wrong to Try to Protect His Sons From the Reality of Menstruation

Menstruation is a fact of life, and anyone who cohabitates with a female between the ages of 10 and 50(ish) at any point of their lives, for any reason, can expect to have to deal with the entire process on some level.

A fact that apparently didn’t occur to this man or his three older teenaged sons when he married a woman with a nineteen-year-old daughter.

The four of them share a bathroom, everyone gets along great, but this is their first time living with a woman for any sort of time.

His oldest son, 18 (!) came to him and said they were uncomfortable seeing their stepsister’s period products in the trash can in the shared bathroom.

Instead of telling his son it’s a part of life and to suck it up, he talked to his stepdaughter, asking her to dispose of them more discreetly (or flush them, what?!).

He was upset that she laughed it off, and even went on the offensive, and was even more irritated when his wife did the same later that night.

Since he believed it was a real issue, he tried to talk to his daughter again, and was rebuffed with extreme prejudice.

You will not be surprised to find that most on Reddit think OP (original poster) is, in fact, the a**hole here, a judgement that also extends to his sons.

Many people thought he’d missed a chance to help educate his sons on a natural process, and how to be better men.

Others pointed out that the sons seem pretty immature for their age, and never having lived with a woman is really no excuse for not being educated about how to.

And pointed out that it’s best they learn about this kind of thing from a sister, and not after they’ve treated their first girlfriend or wife like some kind of leper.

Others lamented the fact that way too many men are weird about feminine products.

And yeah, I’m sure that girl has more than a few complaints of her own, suddenly sharing a bathroom with three teenaged boys, so I’m not sure they should be the ones complaining.

OP did post an update, in which he admits that his stepdaughter and wife sat them down for an excellent PowerPoint, and that all is well.

They even apologized.

This is about the happiest ending of an Am I The A**hole post I could imagine, and I love to see it!

A Young Girl Saw Something in the Corner of Her Room – but It Didn’t Want to Be Seen

There are a ton of stories about kids seeing or hearing things that aren’t there, or knowing things they really couldn’t, that I think most of us have accepted that it’s one of two things: they’re either reincarnated, they can see ghosts, or they just talk out of their butts most of the time.

While the latter could certainly be true, there are stories that make you really consider one of the former options.

Like this one, where a little girl who pointed to the “bad man” in a dark corner of her room.

When her mother turned to look, the lamp fell and switched off, as if the “bad man” didn’t want to be seen.

Yikes.

She said her daughter slept in her bed that night, and I can only assume she did the same every subsequent night until they found a priest or a new house.

The commenters weren’t much help, one suggesting holy water.

And someone laughing that everyone is an atheist until something like this happens (we all know where to go for ghostly help!).

And this person admitted he’d done exactly that.

And yeah, we all agree that ghosts are real, right?

What do you think was in the corner? Was it a coincidence? Are you serious scared out of your mind right now?

Yikes! I’m not sure what to think on this one!

It’s time for you to weigh in! Let us know what you think in the comments!

Video of Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen Introducing Their Sons Is Very Wholesome

If there are two fellas in this world who deserve all of the goodness (and sure, the dirty diapers) that comes with becoming a parent, it’s friends Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.

The two are best friends in real life, and on Father’s Day, thought they should get the boys together to meet for the first time. Both men work in journalism, both became parents later in life, and, it turns out, they have the same nanny – thanks to Cohen’s generosity.

View this post on Instagram

I want to share with you some joyful news. On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was. My son's middle name is Morgan. It's a family name on my mom's side. I know my mom and dad liked the name morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy. As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son's birth. Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him. It is an extraordinary blessing – what she, and all surrogates give to families who cant have children. My surrogate has a beautiful family of her own, a wonderfully supportive husband, and kids, and I am incredibly thankful for all the support they have given Wyatt and me. My family is blessed to have this family in our lives I do wish my mom and dad and my brother, Carter, were alive to meet Wyatt, but I like to believe they can see him. I imagine them all together, arms around each other, smiling and laughing, happy to know that their love is alive in me and in Wyatt, and that our family continues.

A post shared by andersoncooper (@andersoncooper) on

Cohen’s son Benjamin was 16 months old when he met 2-month-old Wyatt Cooper.

“I thought it would be fun if they met right now,” Cohen said. “Look, that’s gonna be your good buddy Wyatt.”

Cooper informed his son he was meeting Benjamin, and then the adults discussed Wyatt’s adorable outfit, as one does.

They went on to have a chat about how they were sure the boys would be great friends in the future.

“Ben, this is Wyatt. This is Wyatt Cooper. He’s gonna be your good buddy and we’re gonna travel together.

And if you like him half as much as I like his daddy, you’re gonna be great friends.”

The two played a quick, fun game about who knew each other better, agreeing that Cooper was more likely to be the helicopter parent, even though he’s “hoping not to be.”

Cohen even handed over his nanny in support of his friend becoming a parent for the first time at 52, saying that he had planned to transition away from her, but that it seemed right because she’d been so great for him with a newborn.

I don’t know about you, but I have new friendship goals!

For right now it’s Cohen and Cooper the elder, but when those two cutie boys grow up, I bet they’re going to give their dads a run for their money in every sense of the word.
