Check Out These Facts From Behind the Scenes of “Hamilton”

Everyone who loves history and a sick beat and fun things in general is geeking out over Hamilton right now. Whether you’re discovering it for the first time on Disney+ or coming back to it like an old friend, it’s delightful, and honestly, none of us can get enough.

If you’re out there reading everything you can find about the hit musical, it’s cast and creators, well, you’re going to want to scan these 19 behind-the-scenes secrets.

19. Lin Manuel was a bit of a procrastinator.

He wrote the middle portion of “Right Hand Man” during a tech rehearsal, forcing music director Alex Macamoire to work off his scribbled notes.

18. It was filmed over the course of three days.

Two of the days took place during live performances and the third, which gave us all of those delicious close-ups, dolly shots, Steadicam, and crane angles, was shot in an empty theater.

17. Philippa Soo preferred to stay in character.

These Animals Are Probably Having a Worse Day Than You

Believe it or not, animals have bad days just like we do.

Sometimes they forget to pay their bills, or their phone breaks, or they get pulled over and receive a speeding ticket…

Okay, none of those things are true, but sometimes they do get into funny situations where they are inconvenienced, and for a pet, that’s NOT a good day.

Not good at all…

They just want to eat, sleep, run around, and then chill with you on the couch at night when you watch TV.

They really do have the life, don’t they…?

But these animals got tripped up and had days, as you’re about to see.

2. Michael B. Jordan was committed.

The actor chose to wear Killmonger’s scars the entire time he filmed Black Panther.

He said he was inspired by Denzel Washington’s decision to wear his scars while filming Glory.

3. Shooting Kill Bill was put on pause.

Uma Thurman got pregnant, and director Quentin Tarantino made the choice to put filming on pause instead of recasting her.

4. Indiana Jones changed ratings.

Seriously: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the actual reason why the PG-13 rating exists now.

5. Frank Sinatra was almost in Die Hard.

That’s right: the studio wanted Ol’ Blue Eyes for the role of John McClaine, even though he was 73 at the time.

6. Chris Evans was almost in Deadpool 2.

A Girl’s Mask Was Attached to Her Earring in Piercing Mishap

Getting your ears pierced is a rite of passage, but getting your ears pierced during a pandemic sounds like nothing short of a nightmare. Just ask 16-year-old Sissy Sheridan.

The Tik Tok teen and Nickelodeon actress shared a distressing video of her piercing with the online community. As she choked back sobs, she said that an employee at Icing by Claire’s in Sterling, Virginia, near her home, pierced her face mask to her ear.

Sissy and her mom tried to get the mask out by cutting a good portion of the string away, but were unable to get it all removed. Claire’s said it would honor her request for a full refund, if she brought the earrings back.

When she went for her appointment, she made sure to wear two masks a precaution and didn’t feel the string as it went in. In fact, she didn’t notice that the mask was stuck until she tried to remove it as she and her mom drove home. That’s when she became hysterical.

The next day, a much calmer Sissy told Tik Tok viewers that she saw the humor in her situation, although it initially scared her.

She and her mom were also finally able to get the remainder of the mask off by “folding her ears forward.” She still had to wait a few days to remove the earring as it was too swollen, and she was still in a lot pain.

There’s no word on any other piercings in Sissy’s future—at least during the pandemic.

Everyone is unique but there is also a ubiquitous “dad brand” that all dads must adhere to, at least at a minimum. I don’t make the rules, y’all!

I’m not sure I’ve ever done something in my life that feels like a bigger contradiction than parenting.

I love my kids, but I could use a break. I want to do right by them, but I think I’m doing a terrible job. I want to hold onto them tight forever, but I want to teach them to be independent and happy.

It goes on and on and on, but if one thing is true, it’s that hearing how other parents are also struggling day-to-day can really put things in perspective.
