A Woman Named Karen Is Furious With A Karen Meme Page

No matter how much you try to explain things online to some people, they still just don’t get it. What is a meme, exactly? And what’s this newfangled thing called TikTok, you say? Does it have to do with a clock?

Well, one woman named Karen has had enough. She’s done with all the jokes, the memes, the thingamajigs — whatever they’re called — making fun of Karens. And that’s final!

She decided to message the admin of a Facebook page called “No, Karen.” It went about as well as you might expect.

But Karen didn’t stop there. She kept on writing, several paragraphs worth, actually.

The owner of the page wrote back and his/her response was priceless. Just try not to laugh while reading this one.

This is SO NOT FUNNY! Now, now, Karen. Settle down.

Oooh, burn. You do not wanna mess with the administrator of a meme page with your name on it!

I guess we’ll never know if Karen called the police or got her lawyers involved. As one commenter pointed out: “The only thing missing is ‘Please let me speak to your manager.’”

If she would’ve said that, the internet would have had a literal field day. Because, let’s face it, Karens often deliver when it comes to the “ridiculous behavior” department.

What do you think of the Karen meme craze? Is it a harmless joke or something deeper than that?

Let us know in the comments!

This is How the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine Became an Iconic Dessert Delight

The perfect snack on a summer day is a sno-cone. Cool, crunchy ice mixed with flavorful syrups has kept kids (and adults) refreshed for decades. Of course, we can thank Snoopy for that.

Since its arrival nearly 40 years ago, the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine has become an iconic piece of American culture. In fact, it’s popularity rose so far that Time magazine named it as one of the 100 best toys in history. Take that, GI Joes.

So how did this Snoopy-inspired dessert delight become a cultural phenomenon?

While Hasbro began producing the machine in 1979, its origins trace back much earlier. Sam Speers came up with the first iteration of the sno-cone machine back in the early ’60s. He first developed the Frosty Sno-Man Sno-Cone Machine.

In fitting fashion, Frosty delivered chunks of ice straight out of his belly. The best part, however, was topping the shaved ice with the included sweetener for a sugary snack.

A huge commercial success, Frosty set the stage for Snoopy.

Of course, that had a lot to do with Charles Schulz’s Peanuts series, which became a merchandising giant. Department store shelves were filled with dolls, shirts, night lights and books inspired by his famous creation.

Snoopy obviously grew into the most popular character. And that led him to be permanently enshrined in toy history.

Due to the major success of A Charlie Brown Christmas, the sno-cone machine game got an overhaul with the Snoopy line. The machine sold so well for 25 years that Hasbro’s CEO once referred to it as an “annuity” because it just kept providing income for the toy-manufacturing giant.

In 2012, however, Cra-Z-Art took over licensing duties and made a few improvements, including making the hand crank easier to turn. No matter what age you are, there’s no doubt that the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine is a toy that always delivers tasty results.

Are you a huge Snoopy fan? Who was your favorite character from the Peanuts series?

Tell us in the comments below!

UFO Videos Released by the Navy Are out of This World

You don’t believe in UFOs? Well, the U.S. Navy does.

Recently, the military branch published three videos that show UFOs are indeed real. Of course, the video clips may not be foreign to amateur internet sleuths. A few years ago, the videos leaked out and brought about another wave of UFO truthers.

In 2019, the Navy officially confirmed that the videos showed “unexplained aerial phenomena.” However, it turns out the Navy didn’t exactly think the public should have even seen the videos, which were filmed by actual military pilots.

But for those who love investigating aliens, outer space and those pesky flying saucers, the clips can now be viewed on the Navy’s Freedom of Information Act page. Through the FOIA, the public can have access (though not always fully), to documents released by the U.S. government.

These viral video clips of UFOs first became public in 2017 and 2018 by The New York Times. In addition, a UFO research group created by Tom Delonge, a member of famous punk rock band blink-182, also has been involved in this space.

The first video entitled “FLIR1” represented a big breakthrough for those who believe in UFOs.

Sue Gough, a Pentagon spokesperson, said in a statement,

“The Department of Defense [DOD] has authorized the release of three unclassified Navy videos, one taken in November 2004 and the other two in January 2015, which have been circulating in the public domain after unauthorized releases in 2007 and 2017.”

Seriously, what moves like this?!

Gough explained the rationale behind the official release of the famous UFO videos. She stated that the unclassified videos did not reveal any “sensitive capabilities or systems.”

However, there may be more to this outer space story. According to a Popular Mechanics story, one witness to a UFO sighting claimed that he saw a video that was much longer and clearer. Who knows if we’ll ever find out the whole story, but the Navy releasing the UFO videos will only drive further speculation about life beyond Earth.

Have you ever witnessed a UFO? Do you believe the videos are legitimate? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments below!

“Safety First” to This Mom Means Strapping Her 7-Year-Old Into a Car Seat

Things have changed in the world of parenting since I was a kid.

There are all kinds of scientific research and evidence that support a different way of doing things – not spanking your kids, raising children with emotional intelligence, talking about things like sex and racial tensions at a young age, and yes, keeping children in car seats long past when they could reasonably be considered “babies.”

My own kids’ car seats allow them to face the rear of the car until they weigh 50lbs, and they can stay in the same 5-point harness seat, facing forward, until they weigh 65lbs.

Which is to say, they could outgrow elementary school before they outgrow the car seats they rode home in from the hospital. Crazy, right?

I’m pretty sure that I quit riding in a car seat when I was like, one.

Even though things are different now, and most parents want to do what will keep their kids the safest for the longest amount of time, kids themselves can still feel the peer pressure to graduate to a “big boy” seat before the weight limits expire.

Louise Thomsen took on the topic with a picture of her 7-year-old son in a car seat, shared on Facebook, with the following caption:

“Here is a photo of my 7 year old on a long road trip we took over the school holidays. He has been teased for being in a ‘baby seat’ from his friends at school this past term.

No parent wants their child to experience ridicule, BUT the statistics speak for themselves regarding children & approved car seats…especially when they fall asleep in their seats.

Take all the factors into consideration when making these choices. Don’t just follow the trend, follow the safest option to protect your family.”

Here is a photo of my 7 year old on a long road trip we took over the school holidays. He has been teased for being in a…

Posted by Paging Fun Mums on Friday, 17 January 2020

Those statistics she’s talking about do make quite the statement – the CDC estimates that children riding in a properly installed car seat are between 71%-82% less likely to be injured in a car accident than children riding just in a seat belt.

I mean. Wow.

The American Academy of Pediatrics updated their recommendations similarly in 2018, recommending that children stay rear-facing to at least 40 lbs, and in a 5-point harness until they weigh 65lbs (longer, if the seat’s guidelines allow for it).

Basically, we should all be keeping our kids in a 5-point harness – rear-facing as long as possible, then front-facing as long as possible – until we literally can’t anymore.

The people who replied on Thomsen’s post seem to agree, and maybe if every parent followed the guidelines and recommendations, kids wouldn’t be getting picked on for having responsible parents who care about their safety in an accident.

Just sayin’…
