The Massive Effort Behind D-Day in One Infographic

The Allied invasion of France, otherwise known as D-Day, is one of the most important events in modern history. There’s no telling how World War II would have turned out and how the world would have been affected had it not been for that operation.

D-Day saw thousands of casualties on both sides, but it signaled the shift of power to the Allies and the war in Europe would be over in less than one year.

Take a look at this infographic that details the numbers behind D-Day.

Dad Waves Goodbye to His Son in Front of the School Bus in the Most Dad-Way Possible

Dads have an uncanny ability to embarrass their kids in ways more embarrassing than we thought to be humanly possible. Of course, as we all know, this is all out of love. But that doesn’t make it any less mortifying when you’re a kid.

16-year-0ld Rain Price of American Fork, Utah learned this lesson the hard way when he told his dear old dad to not wave goodbye to him on the school bus in the morning.

So naturally, Rain’s dad Dale decided to humiliate his son in epic fashion. Dale dressed in hilarious costumes for 170 STRAIGHT SCHOOL DAYS to see off Rain every morning. These have to seen to be believed. Also, I nominate Dale Price for Father of the Year.

Pet Rats Will Make Kids Happier Than Cats or Dogs

Have you ever thought about getting a pet rat? It might sound kind of strange at first, but the science behind these little rodents might change your mind.

Most of us get creeped out when we think about the little rodents that run through our alleys and eat our trash. But a study shows that kids are actually happier with pet rats than they are with dogs or cats. Rats are cheap, smart, and easy to take care of. The study was conducted over the course of 8 years in 113 countries with over 16,000 people. Kids between the ages of 10-17 preferred rats over other pets.

As people age, their preference for rats decreases and they start to fancy dogs and cats. And, for the record, the pets people care for the LEAST are geese and scorpions. So, maybe think twice if you’re in the market for one of those…

Two Friends Put Up a Fake Poster of Themselves in McDonald’s and It’s Hilarious

What do you do when there’s a big, blank wall inside your local McDonald’s? Just ask Jevh Maravilla…

That’s right, without telling the manager or the employees, Maravilla hung a fake poster of himself and a friend. And while it is funny, the two friends also did it for a very specific reason. Maravilla said, “If you haven’t noticed, there isn’t a lot of Asians represented in media. And hopefully one day I could see someone like me on the big screen. So one day, my bud Christian and I were eating at McDonald’s, munching on some snack wraps. I look up and I see a blank wall and I tell Christian, ‘Hey, what if we put a picture of us on there? Look around, there are literally no Asians in any of these walls. Maybe we can change that.’”

Hopefully, the poster will remain up for quite a while. Maravilla added, “Remember, folks: all races deserve recognition. And I guess I did my part.” Yes, you did. Nice work.
