Less than 3 percent of the U.S. population is blind, which means many of our perceptions about the community are informed by movies and TV. The mental_floss List Show’s Josh Sundquist is here to dispel some of the more pervasive myths about blindness once and for all. No, not all blind people read braille (the books are much heavier and more expensive than a Kindle), and not everyone who’s visually impaired uses a cane (many prefer to rely on service animals, sighted guides, or their own limited vision when out and about).
