In the meantime, check out these 9 condensed versions of famous books – they’re funny and, used correctly, can surely get you through a snooty party conversation or two.

Twitter Thread Gives Us One More Reason to Love Star Wars Director Rian Johnson

Love or hate The Last Jedi, few can argue with the fact that director Rian Johnson has a unique vision and the ability to bring a fresh take on the science fiction genre to the screen. Which, if you love the genre, you have to appreciate – even if the end product is sometimes not for you.

Even better, it turns out that he is also a genuinely nice person who goes out of his way to treat strangers like human beings, so…bonus!

Check out this Twitter thread from Kumail Nanjiani, who encountered Johnson on a Comic Con red carpet the same day he realized how hard red carpet interviews are (totally true) and had already had a rough go.

Here’s what happened.

Doesn’t that just make you feel good about the world? You’re welcome!

Burger King Trolled IHOP over Its Big Change and It Was Hilarious

This is why the Internet was invented, people. After news broke that IHOP (International House of Pancakes for the uninitiated) changed it’s name to IHOb (International House of Burgers), fast food burger chains couldn’t just sit on the sidelines. Wendy’s weighed on, but it was Burger King that decided to really burn IHOP, I mean IHOb, on social media.

“Pancake King.” Has a nice right to it, don’t you think? Burger King even changed their cover photo to this for a while:

Steam-umm got in on the action as well.

Time will tell where this food marketing war will go next…

Fox News Accidentally Called Donald Trump a Dictator

Whoopsy daisy. You can probably go ahead and file this one under “Fail.” Just ahead of President Trump’s meeting with North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un, Fox News host Abby Huntsman, well, let’s just say she put her foot in her mouth.

Ouch. “Regardless of what happens in this meeting between two dictators…” Probably just an honest mistake, but still kind of hilarious nonetheless. And you know the people of the Twitterverse weren’t going to let this one slide.

There Are Other Flags Hiding Within Norway’s Flag

At first glance, Norway’s flag looks pretty typical.

But if you look closely, you can see the patterns of six other countries’ flags within the Norwegian flag. A demographics researcher named Simon Kuestenmacher pointed out the flags in a tweet.

Norwegian Air used this nifty little pattern to make an advertisement with prices to these different destinations.

Poster of a Lockdown Song in a Kindergarten Classroom Is Heartbreakingly Sad

It’s almost impossible for people over the age of 40 to imagine this happening in their schools when they were growing up. But, sadly, school shootings are such a common phenomenon in American schools so kids have to learn how to stay in place should a shooting take place. A mother named Georgy Cohen shared this poster from a kindergarten class.

The lyrics to the song read:

Lockdown. Lockdown.

Lock the door.

Shut the lights off.

Say no more.

Go behind the desk and hide.

Wait until it’s safe inside.

Lockdown. Lockdown.

It’s all done.

Now it’s time to have some fun!

Cohen’s tweet went viral and other Twitter users weighed in on the topic.

Cohen added that her child had already been taught lockdown drills in pre-kindergarten classes.

Cohen further added that Americans should call their congressional representatives to advocate for gun reform.
