Funny Stories About Weird Neighbors From the Nextdoor App

There are so many apps these days that it’s enough to give a person a huge headache.

But there’s one app out there I’m a big fan of for many reasons. Yes, it’s helpful to know what’s going on in your neighborhood, but the better part is reading about the never-ending drama and totally weird events that are unfolding right under your nose.

I’m talking about the Nextdoor app, where people air their grievances, lose their minds about very bizarre things, and battle with their neighbors about things large and small.

It’s a blast and I highly recommend installing the app on your phone so you can have something to do when you have time to kill.

Here are some great examples of what I’m talking about. Let’s take a look!

1. Let me know if you’re interested.

All I have to do is jump the fence.

2. Is that a dog?

Can someone help me out with this?

3. That was not a cool move.

Not cool at all. I hope they got caught. And all the other stuff.

4. You gotta do it.

Just to make sure.

5. You dummies!

6. Not up on their flags.

You’d think they’d at least know that much.

7. Sorry about that…

A lengthy apology.

8. Oh, good, you found it.

People were wondering where that went.

9. Jack didn’t want any part of that life anymore.

Jack did the right thing.

10. That is a crime.

A crime against humanity.

11. This is amazing.

I love it!

12. This is pretty rude.

But it might drive me nuts, too…

13. I’ve heard about these things.

They’re out there. Watching us.

How about you?

Have you ever had any really bad neighbors before? Or maybe you have one now?

A Woman’s Neighbors Are Mad at Her for Running Early in the Morning

It’s a little appalling how much free time people seem to have.

And that they seem to choose to spend that free time complaining about the people who live around them in their neighborhoods.

Because here’s the deal – you buy a house in a neighborhood, you get neighbors. People living their lives, doing their thing, whatever, while you do the same a few doors down.

This woman, who posted her story on the subreddit Am I The A**hole, wanted to know if she was a jerk for running before she goes to work in the morning (usually around 5am). Her neighbors had let her know they thought she was, since her route woke many of them up before they wanted.

AITA for running through neighborhoods in the early morning, making security lights come on and dogs bark? from AmItheAsshole

The were upset not because she was being loud, mind you. But because their dogs, their security lights, their video doorbells were being set off by her running past.

Yeah. They wanted her to stop living her life because their own stuff was inconveniencing them.

You probably won’t be surprised to hear that most people on Reddit took her side – she should continue to run whenever she damn well pleases, because not everyone can afford a gym or change their workout schedule at will.

Do better, people. Or you know, go live in the woods. I’m sure the critters will be super amenable to staying away from your dogs and security lights.

A Guy Shared Some New Parents’ List of Meal Requests on Nextdoor App and It Is Bonkers

Having your first child is an overwhelming, 24/7 job that usually makes people put aside their pride and reach out for any assistance they can get.

And one of the easiest things they can get is food. And lots of it. It’s often called a “meal train” and it’s so valuable.

But this couple… wow. They’re something else.

Meet Jack Jokinen. He joined the social network Nextdoor, which is basically just Facebook but for your neighborhood. He saw a post from some soon-to-be parents who asked for help after their baby was born.

And then things got CRAZY…

Yeah, we’re ready…

Oh, you don’t think that’s what they’re doing Jack? Well, get ready…

“On a fence of emotions” might just be my new favorite phrase.

But it gets better…

Yeah. YEAH.

And here are the meals…

Breakfast and Lunch…

Dinner…

And even Snacks! Because why not, right?

It keeps going!

And going…

Jack has the right response…

Needless to say, the story went viral and people had some things to say…

Some negative…

Some positive…

What do you think?

Personally, I think this guy had the right reaction.

If you’re asking people to help you out FOR FREE with meals, you can list a couple dietary restrictions… but this is nuts.
